1 Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn? Crie donc ! Y a-t-il quelqu'un qui te réponde ? Et vers lequel des saints te tourneras-tu ? ¿Y a cuál de los santos te volverás?
2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one. Car le chagrin fait mourir le sot, et la jalousiea tue le simple. For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple. Es cierto que al necio lo mata la ira,
Y al codicioso lo consume la envidia.

Y maravillas sin número;

11 To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety. Plaçant en haut ceux qui sont abaissés ; et ceux qui sont en deuil sont élevés au bonheur. Setting up on high those that are low; and mourners are exalted to prosperity. Que pone a los humildes en altura,

Así libra de la espada al pobre, de la boca de los impíos,

17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: ✱ Voici, bienheureux l'homme que †Dieu reprend ! Por tanto, no menosprecies la corrección del Todopoderoso.b
18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole. Car c'est lui qui fait la plaie et qui la bande ; il frappe, et ses mains guérissent. For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth, and his hands make whole. Porque él es quien hace la llaga, y él la vendará;

19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. En six détresses il te délivrera, et, dans sept, le mal ne t'atteindra pas. He will deliver thee in six troubles, and in seven there shall no evil touch thee. En seis tribulaciones te librará,
Y en la séptima no te tocará el mal.

21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh. Tu seras à couvert du fouet de la langue, et tu ne craindras pas le désastre quand il viendra. Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it cometh. Del azote de la lengua serás encubierto;
No temerás la destrucción cuando viniere.
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth. Tu te riras du désastre et de la faim, et tu n'auras pas peur des bêtes de la terre ; At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, and of the beasts of the earth thou shalt not be afraid. De la destrucción y del hambre te reirás,
Y no temerás de las fieras del campo;
23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. Car tu auras une alliance avec les pierres des champs, et les bêtes des champs seront en paix avec toi. For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. Pues aun con las piedras del campo tendrás tu pacto,
Y las fieras del campo estarán en paz contigo.
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin. Tu sauras que ta tente est prospère, tu visiteras ta demeureg et tu n'y trouveras rien de manque, And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; and thou wilt survey thy fold, and miss nothing. Sabrás que hay paz en tu tienda;
Visitarás tu morada, y nada te faltará.
25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth. Et tu sauras que ta postérité est nombreuse, et tes rejetons, comme l'herbe de la terre. And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thine offspring as the herb of the earth. Asimismo echarás de ver que tu descendencia es mucha,
Y tu prole como la hierba de la tierra.
26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. Tu entreras au sépulcre en bonne vieillesse, comme on enlève le tas de gerbes en sa saison. Thou shalt come to the grave in a ripe age, as a shock of corn is brought in in its season. Vendrás en la vejez a la sepultura,
Como la gavilla de trigo que se recoge a su tiempo.
27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good. Voici, nous avons examiné cela ; il en est ainsi. Écoute-le, et sache-le pour toi-même. Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thyself. He aquí lo que hemos inquirido, lo cual es así;
Óyelo, y conócelo tú para tu provecho.
