1 Elihu also proceeded, and said, Et Élihu continua et dit : And Elihu proceeded and said, Añadió Eliú y dijo:
2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf. Attends-moi un peu, et je te montrerai que j'ai encore des paroles pour †Dieu. Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for +God. Espérame un poco, y te enseñaré;
Porque todavía tengo razones en defensa de Dios.
3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker. J'apporterai de loin ce que je sais, et je donnerai justice à mon créateur. I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator. Tomaré mi saber desde lejos,
Y atribuiré justicia a mi Hacedor.
4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee. Car certainement mes discours ne sont pas des mensonges ; celui qui est parfaita en connaissances est avec toi. For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee. Porque de cierto no son mentira mis palabras;
Contigo está el que es íntegro en sus conceptos.
5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom. ✱ Voici, ∗Dieu est puissant et ne méprise personne ; il est puissant en force d'intelligenceb. Lo, *God is mighty, but despiseth not any ; mighty in strength of understanding: He aquí que Dios es grande, pero no desestima a nadie;
Es poderoso en fuerza de sabiduría.
6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor. Il ne fait pas vivre le méchant, mais il fait droit aux malheureux. He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted. No otorgará vida al impío,
Pero a los afligidos dará su derecho.
7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted. Il ne retire pas ses yeux de dessus le juste, et [celui-ci] est avec les rois sur le trône, et il les fait asseoir à toujours, et ils sont élevés. He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted. No apartará de los justos sus ojos;
Antes bien con los reyes los pondrá en trono para siempre,
Y serán exaltados.
8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction; Et si, liés dans les chaînes, ils sont pris dans les cordeaux du malheur, And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction, Y si estuvieren prendidos en grillos,
Y aprisionados en las cuerdas de aflicción,
9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded. Il leur montre ce qu'ils ont fait, et leurs transgressions, parce qu'elles sont devenues grandesc ; Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased. Él les dará a conocer la obra de ellos,
Y que prevalecieron sus rebeliones.
10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity. Et il ouvre leurs oreilles à la discipline, et leur dit de revenir de l'iniquité. And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity. Despierta además el oído de ellos para la corrección,
Y les dice que se conviertan de la iniquidad.
11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. S'ils écoutent et le servent, ils accompliront leurs jours dans la prospérité et leurs années dans les choses agréables [de la vie] ; If they hearken and serve him , they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. Si oyeren, y le sirvieren,
Acabarán sus días en bienestar,
Y sus años en dicha.
12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge. Mais s'ils n'écoutent pas, ils s'en iront par l'épée, et expireront sans connaissance. But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge. Pero si no oyeren, serán pasados a espada,
Y perecerán sin sabiduría.
13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them. Les hypocritesd de cœur amassent la colère ; ils ne crient pas quand [Dieu] les lie. But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them: Mas los hipócritas de corazón atesoran para sí la ira,
Y no clamarán cuando él los atare.
14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean. Ils mourront dans la jeunesse, et leur vie est parmi les hommes voués à l'infamie. Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean. Fallecerá el alma de ellos en su juventud,
Y su vida entre los sodomitas.
15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression. Il délivre le malheureux dans son malheur, et lui ouvre l'oreille dans l'oppression. But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in their oppression. Al pobre librará de su pobreza,
Y en la aflicción despertará su oído.
16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness. Il t'aurait aussi tiré de la gueule de la détresse [et mis] au large, là où il n'y a point de gêne, et la graisse abonderait dans les mets de ta tablee. Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table would be full of fatness. Asimismo te apartará de la boca de la angustia
A lugar espacioso, libre de todo apuro,
Y te preparará mesa llena de grosura.
17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee. Mais tu es plein des jugementsf des méchants ; le jugement et la justice [te] saisiront. But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee . Mas tú has llenado el juicio del impío,
En vez de sustentar el juicio y la justicia.
18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee. Puisqu'il y a de la colère, prends garde qu'elle ne t'enlève par le châtiment ; et une grande rançon ne te le fera pas éviter. Because there is wrath, beware lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee. Por lo cual teme, no sea que en su ira te quite con golpe,
El cual no puedas apartar de ti con gran rescate.
19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength. Tiendra-t-il compte de tes richesses ? Non ; — ni de l'or, ni de toutes les ressources de la puissance. Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength! ¿Hará él estima de tus riquezas, del oro,
O de todas las fuerzas del poder?
20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place. Ne soupire pas après la nuit qui enlèvera les peuples de leur place. Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place. No anheles la noche,
En que los pueblos desaparecen de su lugar.
21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction. Prends garde à toi ! Ne te tourne pas vers l'iniquité, car c'est ce que tu as choisi plutôt que l'afflictiong. Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction. Guárdate, no te vuelvas a la iniquidad;
Pues esta escogiste más bien que la aflicción.
22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him? ✱ Voici, ∗Dieu se montre élevé dans sa puissance : qui enseigne comme lui ? Lo, *God is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he? He aquí que Dios es excelso en su poder;
¿Qué enseñador semejante a él?
23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity? Qui lui a prescrit son chemin, et qui a dit : Tu as mal agi ? Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness? ¿Quién le ha prescrito su camino?
¿Y quién le dirá: Has hecho mal?
24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. Souviens-toi de glorifier son œuvre, que les hommes célèbrent : Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate. Acuérdate de engrandecer su obra,
La cual contemplan los hombres.
25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off. Tout homme la contemple, le mortel la regarde de loin. All men look at it; man beholdeth it afar off. Los hombres todos la ven;
La mira el hombre de lejos.
26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. Voici, ∗Dieu est grand, et nous ne le connaissons pas ; le nombre de ses années, nul ne le sonde. Lo, *God is great, and we comprehend him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. He aquí, Dios es grande, y nosotros no le conocemos,
Ni se puede seguir la huella de sus años.
27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Car il attire les gouttes d'eau : des vapeurs qu'il forme elles distillent la pluie, For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth, Él atrae las gotas de las aguas,
Al transformarse el vapor en lluvia,
28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly. Que les nuages font couler ; ils tombent en gouttes sur les hommes, abondammenth. Which the skies pour down and drop upon man abundantly. La cual destilan las nubes,
Goteando en abundancia sobre los hombres.
29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle? Mais qui peut comprendre le déploiement de la nuée, le fracas de son tabernacle ? But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the crashing of his pavilion? ¿Quién podrá comprender la extensión de las nubes,
Y el sonido estrepitoso de su morada?
30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea. Voici, il étend sa lumière autour de lui, et couvre le fondi de la mer. Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea. He aquí que sobre él extiende su luz,
Y cobija con ella las profundidades del mar.
31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance. Car par ces choses il juge les peuples, il donne la nourriture en abondance. For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance. Bien que por esos medios castiga a los pueblos,
A la multitud él da sustento.
32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt. Il couvre ses mains de l'éclairj, et lui commande où il doit frapperk ; His hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike. Con las nubes encubre la luz,
Y le manda no brillar, interponiendo aquellas.
33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour. Son bruit l'annonce, le bétail même en présage la venue ! His thundering declareth concerning him; the cattle even, concerning its coming. El trueno declara su indignación,
Y la tempestad proclama su ira contra la iniquidad.
