1 Then Job answered the Lord, and said, ☆ Et Job répondit à l'Éternel et dit : And Job answered Jehovah and said, Respondió Job a Jehová, y dijo:
2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. Je sais que tu peux tout, et qu'aucun dessein n'est trop difficile pour toi. I know that thou canst do everything, and that thou canst be hindered in no thought of thine. Yo conozco que todo lo puedes,
Y que no hay pensamiento que se esconda de ti.
3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. Qui est celui-ci qui, sans connaissance, voile le conseil ? J'ai donc parlé, et sans comprendre, de choses trop merveilleuses pour moi, que je ne connaissais pas. Who is he that obscureth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered what I did not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. ¿Quién es el que oscurece el consejo sin entendimiento?a
Por tanto, yo hablaba lo que no entendía;
Cosas demasiado maravillosas para mí, que yo no comprendía.
4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. Écoute, je te prie, et je parlerai ; je t'interrogerai, et toi, instruis-moi. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and inform me. Oye, te ruego, y hablaré;
Te preguntaré, y tú me enseñarás.b
5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Mon oreille avait entendu parler de toi, maintenant mon œil t'a vu : I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee: De oídas te había oído;
Mas ahora mis ojos te ven.
6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. C'est pourquoi j'ai horreur de moi, et je me repens dans la poussière et dans la cendre. Wherefore I abhor myself , and repent in dust and ashes. Por tanto me aborrezco,

7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. ☆ Et il arriva, après que l'Éternel eut dit ces paroles à Job, que l'Éternel dit à Éliphaz, le Thémanite : Ma colère s'est enflammée contre toi et contre tes deux compagnons, car vous n'avez pas parlé de moi comme il convient, comme mon serviteur Job. And it came to pass after Jehovah had spoken these words to Job, that Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, Mine anger is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken rightly of me, like my servant Job. Y aconteció que después que habló Jehová estas palabras a Job, Jehová dijo a Elifaz temanita: Mi ira se encendió contra ti y tus dos compañeros; porque no habéis hablado de mí lo recto, como mi siervo Job.
8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job. Et maintenant, prenez pour vous sept taureaux et sept béliers, et allez vers mon serviteur Job, et offrez un holocauste pour vous ; et mon serviteur Job priera pour vous : car, lui, je l'aurai pour agréable, afin que je n'agisse pas avec vous selon votre folie ; car vous n'avez pas parlé de moi comme il convient, comme mon serviteur Job. 9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord commanded them: the Lord also accepted Job. Et Éliphaz le Thémanite, et Bildad le Shukhite, et Tsophar le Naamathite, allèrent et firent comme l'Éternel leur avait dit ; et l'Éternel eut Job pour agréable. Then Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, went and did according as Jehovah had said unto them; and Jehovah accepted Job. Fueron, pues, Elifaz temanita, Bildad suhita y Zofar naamatita, e hicieron como Jehová les dijo; y Jehová aceptó la oración de Job.
10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Et l'Éternel rétablit l'ancien étata de Job, quand il eut prié pour ses amis ; et l'Éternel donna à Job le double de tout ce qu'il avait eu. And Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he had prayed for his friends; and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before. Y quitó Jehová la aflicción de Job, cuando él hubo orado por sus amigos; y aumentó al doble todas las cosas que habían sido de Job.c
11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold. Et tous ses frères, et toutes ses sœurs, et tous ceux qui l'avaient connu auparavant vinrent à lui, et mangèrent le pain avec lui dans sa maison ; et ils sympathisèrent avec lui et le consolèrent de tout le mal que l'Éternel avait fait venir sur lui, et lui donnèrent chacun un késitab, et chacun un anneau d'or. And all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house, and they condoled with him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him; and every one gave him a piece of money, and every one a golden ring. Y vinieron a él todos sus hermanos y todas sus hermanas, y todos los que antes le habían conocido, y comieron con él pan en su casa, y se condolieron de él, y le consolaron de todo aquel mal que Jehová había traído sobre él; y cada uno de ellos le dio una pieza de dinero y un anillo de oro.
12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. Et l'Éternel bénit la fin de Job plus que son commencement : et il eut quatorze mille brebis, et six mille chameaux, et mille paires de bœufs, et mille ânesses ; And Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses. Y bendijo Jehová el postrer estado de Job más que el primero; porque tuvo catorce mil ovejas, seis mil camellos, mil yuntas de bueyes y mil asnas,
13 He had also seven sons and three daughters. et il eut sept fils et trois filles ; And he had seven sons and three daughters. y tuvo siete hijos y tres hijas.
14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren–happuch. et il appela le nom de la première Jémimac, et le nom de la seconde Ketsiad, et le nom de la troisième Kéren-Happuce. And he called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch. Llamó el nombre de la primera, Jemima, el de la segunda, Cesia, y el de la tercera, Keren-hapuc.
15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. Et, dans tout le pays, il ne se trouvait point de femmes belles comme les filles de Job ; et leur père leur donna un héritage parmi leurs frères. 16 After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.
