Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, |

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: |
Comme sa divine puissance nous a donné tout ce qui regarde la vie et la piété, par la connaissance de celui qui nous a appelés par [la] gloire et par [la] vertu, |
Su divino poder nos ha dado todas las cosas que pertenecen a la vida y a la piedad, por medio del conocimiento del que nos ha llamado por su gloria y excelencia; |
As his divine power has given to us all things which relate to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us by glory and virtue, |
Como todas las cosas que pertenecen a la vida y a la piedad nos han sido dadas por su divino poder, mediante el conocimiento de aquel que nos llamó por su gloria y excelencia, |

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. |
par lesquelles il nous a donnéb les très-grandes et précieuses promesses, afin que par elles vous participiez de la nature divine, ayant échappé à la corruption qui est dans le monde par la convoitise… ; |
mediante las cuales también nos ha dado grandes y preciosas promesas, para que por estas llegaseis a ser partícipes de la naturaleza divina, habiendo escapado de la corrupción que hay en el mundo a causa de la concupiscencia. |
through which he has given to us the greatest and precious promises, that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. |

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; |

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
car, si ces choses sont en vous et y abondent, elles font que vous ne serez pas oisifs ni stériles pour ce qui regarde la connaissance de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ ; |
Si estas cosas están en vosotros y abundan, no os dejarán estar ociosos ni sin fruto en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. |
for these things existing and abounding in you make you to be neither idle nor unfruitful as regards the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; |
Porque si estas cosas están en vosotros, y abundan, no os dejarán estar ociosos ni sin fruto en cuanto al conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. |

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. |
car celui en qui ces choses ne se trouvent pas est aveugle, et ne voit pas loin, ayant oublié la purification de ses péchés d'autrefois. |
Porque aquel en quien no están presentes estas cosas está ciego, tiene corta la vista, habiendo olvidado la purificación de sus antiguos pecados. |
for he with whom these things are not present is blind, short-sighted, and has forgotten the purging of his former sins. |
Pero el que no tiene estas cosas tiene la vista muy corta; es ciego, habiendo olvidado la purificación de sus antiguos pecados. |

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: |
C'est pourquoi, frères, étudiez-vous d'autant plus à affermir votre appel et votre élection, car en faisant ces choses vous ne faillirez jamais ; |
Por lo cual, hermanos, poned el mayor empeño en asegurar vuestro llamamiento y elección; porque haciendo estas cosas no tropezaréis jamás; |
Wherefore the rather, brethren, use diligence to make your calling and election sure, for doing these things ye will never fall; |
Por lo cual, hermanos, tanto más procurad hacer firme vuestra vocación y elección; porque haciendo estas cosas, no caeréis jamás. |

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |
car ainsi l'entrée dans le royaume éternel de notre Seigneur et Sauveur Jésus Christ vous sera richement donnéee. |
pues así se os dará amplia entrada en el reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. |
for thus shall the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be richly furnished unto you. |
Porque de esta manera os será otorgada amplia y generosa entrada en el reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. |

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. |
C'est pourquoi je m'appliquerai à vous faire souvenir toujours de ces choses, quoique vous les connaissiez et que vous soyez affermis dans la vérité présente. |
Por lo cual cuidaré siempre de recordaros estas cosas, aunque las conocéis y estáis afianzados en la presente verdad. |
Wherefore I will be careful to put you always in mind of these things, although knowing them and established in the present truth. |
Por esto, yo no dejaré de recordaros siempre estas cosas, aunque vosotros las sepáis, y estéis confirmados en la verdad presente. |

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; |
Mais j'estime qu'il est juste, tant que je suis dans cette tentef, de vous réveiller en rappelant [ces choses] à votre mémoire, |
Pues lo tengo por justo, mientras yo esté en esta frágil tienda, estimularos recordándoos estas cosas; |
But I account it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance, |
Pues tengo por justo, en tanto que estoy en este cuerpo, el despertaros con amonestación; |

Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. |
sachant que le moment de déposer ma tentef s'approche rapidement, comme aussi notre Seigneur Jésus Christ me l'a montré ; |
sabiendo que pronto tendré que dejar mi frágil tienda, como me lo ha declarado nuestro Señor Jesucristo. |
knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is speedily to take place , as also our Lord Jesus Christ has manifested to me; |
sabiendo que en breve debo abandonar el cuerpo, como nuestro Señor Jesucristo me ha declarado. |

Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. |
mais je m'étudierai à ce qu'après mon départ vous puissiez aussi en tout temps vous rappeler ces choses. |
Y me esforzaré con empeño para que después de mi partida siempre os podáis acordar de estas cosas. |
but I will use diligence, that after my departure ye should have also, at any time, in your power to call to mind these things. |
También yo procuraré con diligencia que después de mi partida vosotros podáis en todo momento tener memoria de estas cosas. |

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. |
Car ce n'est pas en suivant des fables ingénieusement imaginées, que nous vous avons fait connaître la puissance et la venue de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, mais comme ayant été témoins oculaires de sa majesté. |
Porque no os dimos a conocer el poder y la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo con ingeniosas fábulas, sino que fuimos testigos visuales de su majestad. |
For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cleverly imagined fables, but having been eyewitnesses of *his* majesty. |
Porque no os hemos dado a conocer el poder y la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo siguiendo fábulas artificiosas, sino como habiendo visto con nuestros propios ojos su majestad. |

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. |
Car il reçut de Dieu le Père honneur et gloire, lorsqu'une telle voix lui fut adressée par la gloire magnifique : «Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui j'aig trouvé mon plaisir». |
Porque él recibió de parte de Dios Padre honra y gloria, cuando una voz vino a él desde la magnífica gloria: Este es mi amado Hijo, en quien me complazco. |
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, such a voice being uttered to him by the excellent glory: This is my beloved Son, in whom *I* have found my delight; |
Pues cuando él recibió de Dios Padre honra y gloria, le fue enviada desde la magnífica gloria una voz que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado, en el cual tengo complacencia. |

And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. |
Et nous, nous entendîmes cette voix venue du ciel, étant avec lui sur la sainte montagne. |
Y nosotros oímos esta voz venida del cielo, estando con él en el santo monte. |
and this voice *we* heard uttered from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain. |

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: |
Et nous avons la parole prophétique [rendue] plus ferme, (à laquelle vous faites bien d'être attentifs, comme à une lampe qui brille dans un lieu obscur), jusqu'à ce que [le] jour ait commencé à luire et que [l']étoile du matin se soit levée dans vos cœurs, |
Tenemos más firme la palabra profética, a la cual hacéis bien en estar atentos (como a una lámpara que brilla en un lugar oscuro) hasta que el día amanezca y el lucero de la mañana se levante en vuestros corazones; |
And we have the prophetic word made surer, to which ye do well taking heed (as to a lamp shining in an obscure place) until the day dawn and the morning star arise in your hearts; |
Tenemos también la palabra profética más segura, a la cual hacéis bien en estar atentos como a una antorcha que alumbra en lugar oscuro, hasta que el día esclarezca y el lucero de la mañana salga en vuestros corazones; |

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. |

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. |
Car [la] prophétie n'est jamaisi venue par la volonté de l'homme, mais de saints hommes de Dieu ont parlé, étant poussés par l'Esprit Saint. |
Porque jamás la profecía fue traída por voluntad del hombre, sino que hombres de Dios hablaron guiados por el Espíritu Santo. |
for prophecy was not ever uttered by the will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of the Holy Spirit. |
