This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: |

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: |
afin que vous vous souveniez des paroles qui ont été dites à l'avance par les saints prophètes, et du commandement du Seigneur et Sauveur par vos apôtres, |
para que recordéis las palabras dichas antes por los santos profetas, y el mandamiento del Señor y Salvador enseñado por vuestros apóstoles; |
to be mindful of the words spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of the Lord and Saviour by your apostles; |
para que tengáis memoria de las palabras que antes han sido dichas por los santos profetas, y del mandamiento del Señor y Salvador dado por vuestros apóstoles; |

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, |
sachant tout d'abord ceci, qu'aux derniers jours des moqueurs viendront, marchant dans la moquerie selon leurs propres convoitises |
sabed, ante todo, que en los últimos días vendrán burladores, andando según sus propias concupiscencias, |
knowing this first, that there shall come at the close of the days mockers with mocking, walking according to their own lusts, |

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. |
et disant : Où est la promesse de sa venue ? car, depuis que les pères se sont endormis, toutes choses demeurent au même état dès le commencement de la création. |
y diciendo: ¿Dónde está la promesa de su advenimiento? Porque desde el día en que los padres durmieron, todo permanece como desde el principio de la creación. |
and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for from the time the fathers fell asleep all things remain thus from the beginning of the creation. |

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: |
Car ils ignorent volontairement ceci, que, par la parole de Dieu, des cieux subsistaient jadis, et une terre [tirée] des eauxa et subsistant au milieu des eauxa, |
Porque voluntariamente olvidan esto: que por la palabra de Dios fueron hechos antiguamente los cielos, y la tierra que proviene del agua y subsiste en medio del agua, |
For this is hidden from them through their own wilfulness, that heavens were of old, and an earth, having its subsistence out of water and in water, by the word of God, |
Estos ignoran voluntariamente, que en el tiempo antiguo fueron hechos por la palabra de Dios los cielos, y también la tierra, que proviene del agua y por el agua subsiste,b |

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: |
par lesquelles le monde d'alors fut détruit, étant submergé par de l'eaub. |

through which waters the then world, deluged with water, perished. |

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. |
Mais les cieux et la terre de maintenant sont réservés par sa parole pour le feu, gardés pour le jour du jugement et de la destruction des hommes impies. |
Pero los cielos y la tierra de ahora, por la misma palabra son reservados para el fuego, guardados para el día del juicio y de la destrucción de los hombres impíos. |
But the present heavens and the earth by his word are laid up in store, kept for fire unto a day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. |

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. |
Mais n'ignorez pas cette chose, bien-aimés, c'est qu'un jour est devant le ∗Seigneur comme mille ans, et mille ans comme un jour. |
Pero no olvidéis, amados, que ante el Señor° un día es como mil años, y mil años como un día. |
But let not this one thing be hidden from you, beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. |
Mas, oh amados, no ignoréis esto: que para con el Señor un día es como mil años, y mil años como un día.d |

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. |
Le ∗Seigneur ne tarde pas pour ce qui concerne la promesse, comme quelques-uns estiment qu'il y a du retardement ; mais il est patient envers vous, ne voulant pas qu'aucun périsse, mais que tous viennent à la repentance. |
El Señor° no retarda su promesa, como algunos lo piensan; sino que es paciente con vosotros, no queriendo que ninguno perezca, sino que todos vengan al arrepentimiento. |
The Lord does not delay his promise, as some account of delay, but is longsuffering towards you, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. |
El Señor no retarda su promesa, según algunos la tienen por tardanza, sino que es paciente para con nosotros, no queriendo que ninguno perezca, sino que todos procedan al arrepentimiento. |

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. |
Or le jour du ∗Seigneur viendra comme un voleur ; et, dans ce jour-là, les cieux passeront avec un bruit sifflant, et les éléments embrasés seront dissous, et la terre et les œuvres qui sont en elle seront brûlées entièrement. |
Pero el día del Señor° vendrá como ladrón; los cielos con gran estruendo desaparecerán, y los elementos, ardiendo, serán disueltos; la tierra y las obras que hay en ella serán quemadas. |
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, and the earth and the works in it shall be burnt up. |
Pero el día del Señor vendrá como ladrón en la noche;e en el cual los cielos pasarán con grande estruendo, y los elementos ardiendo serán deshechos, y la tierra y las obras que en ella hay serán quemadas. |

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, |
Toutes ces choses devant donc se dissoudre, quelles [gens] devriez-vous être en sainte conduite et en piété, |
Puesto que todas estas cosas han de ser disueltas, ¡qué clase de personas es necesario que seáis en santa conducta y piedad, |
All these things then being to be dissolved, what ought ye to be in holy conversation and godliness, |
Puesto que todas estas cosas han de ser deshechas, ¡cómo no debéis vosotros andar en santa y piadosa manera de vivir, |

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? |
attendant et hâtant la venue du jour de Dieu, à cause duquel les cieux en feu seront dissous et les éléments embrasés se fondront. |
esperando y apresurando la venida del día de Dios, en el cual los cielos encendidos serán disueltos, y los elementos quemados se derretirán! |
waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens, being on fire, shall be dissolved, and the elements, burning with heat, shall melt? |
esperando y apresurándoos para la venida del día de Dios, en el cual los cielos, encendiéndose, serán deshechos, y los elementos, siendo quemados, se fundirán! |

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. |
Mais, selon sa promesse, nous attendons de nouveaux cieux et une nouvelle terre, dans lesquels la justice habite. |
Pero, según su promesa, esperamos nuevos cielos y una tierra nueva, en los cuales habita la justicia. |
But, according to his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness. |

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. |
C'est pourquoi, bien-aimés, en attendant ces choses, étudiez-vous à être trouvés sans tache et irréprochables devant lui, en paix ; |
Por lo cual, amados, esperando estas cosas, sed diligentes para ser encontrados por él sin mancha, irreprensibles, en paz. |
Wherefore, beloved, as ye wait for these things, be diligent to be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless; |
Por lo cual, oh amados, estando en espera de estas cosas, procurad con diligencia ser hallados por él sin mancha e irreprensibles, en paz. |

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; |
et estimez que la patience de notre Seigneur est salut, comme notre bien-aimé frère Paul aussi vous a écrit selon la sagesse qui lui a été donnée, |
Y considerad la paciencia de nuestro Señor como salvación; como también nuestro amado hermano Pablo os ha escrito conforme a la sabiduría que le ha sido dada; |
and account the longsuffering of our Lord to be salvation; according as our beloved brother Paul also has written to you according to the wisdom given to him, |
Y tened entendido que la paciencia de nuestro Señor es para salvación; como también nuestro amado hermano Pablo, según la sabiduría que le ha sido dada, os ha escrito, |

As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. |
ainsi qu'[il le fait] aussi dans toutes ses lettres, où il parle de ces choses, parmi lesquelles il y en a de difficiles à comprendre, que les ignorants et les mal affermis tordent, comme aussi les autres écritures, à leur propre destruction. |
como también en todas sus epístolas, hablando en ellas de estas cosas; en las cuales hay algunas cosas difíciles de entender, que los ignorantes e inconstantes tuercen, como también las demás Escrituras, para su propia destrucción. |
as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; among which some things are hard to be understood, which the untaught and ill-established wrest, as also the other scriptures, to their own destruction. |
casi en todas sus epístolas, hablando en ellas de estas cosas; entre las cuales hay algunas difíciles de entender, las cuales los indoctos e inconstantes tuercen, como también las otras Escrituras, para su propia perdición. |

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. |
Vous donc, bien-aimés, sachant [ces choses] à l'avance, prenez garde, de peur qu'étant entraînés par l'erreur des pervers, vous ne veniez à déchoir de votre propre fermeté ; |
Vosotros, pues, amados, conociéndolo de antemano, guardaos; no sea que arrastrados por el error de los inicuos, caigáis de vuestra propia firmeza. |
*Ye* therefore, beloved, knowing these things before, take care lest, being led away along with the error of the wicked, ye should fall from your own stedfastness: |
Así que vosotros, oh amados, sabiéndolo de antemano, guardaos, no sea que arrastrados por el error de los inicuos, caigáis de vuestra firmeza. |

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. |
mais croissez dans la grâce et dans la connaissance de notre Seigneur et Sauveur Jésus Christ. À lui la gloire, et maintenant et jusqu'au jour d'éternité ! Amen. |
Antes bien, creced en la gracia y el conocimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. A él sea la gloria, ahora y hasta el día de la eternidad. |
but grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. |
Antes bien, creced en la gracia y el conocimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. A él sea gloria ahora y hasta el día de la eternidad. Amén. |
