1 And Job answered and said, ☆ Et Job répondit et dit : And Job answered and said, Respondió entonces Job, diciendo:
2 No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you. Vraiment vous êtes les [seuls] hommes, et avec vous mourra la sagesse ! Truly ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you! Ciertamente vosotros sois el pueblo,
Y con vosotros morirá la sabiduría.
3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these? Moi aussi j'ai du sens comme vous, je ne vous suis pas inférieur ; et de qui de telles choses ne sont-elles pas [connues] ? I also have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you; and who knoweth not such things as these? También tengo yo entendimiento como vosotros;
No soy yo menos que vosotros;
¿Y quién habrá que no pueda decir otro tanto?
4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn. Je suis un [homme] qui est la risée de ses amis, criant à †Dieu, et à qui il répondra ; — le juste parfait est un objet de risée ! I am to be one that is a derision to his friend, I who call upon +God, and whom he will answer: a derision is the just upright man . Yo soy uno de quien su amigo se mofa,

5 He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease. 6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly. ✱ Les tentes des dévastateurs prospèrent, et la confiance est pour ceux qui provoquent ∗Dieu, pour celui dans la main duquel †Dieu a fait venir [l'abondance] b. Los peces del mar te lo declararán también.
9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? Qui d'entre tous ceux-ci ne sait pas que la main de l'Éternel a fait cela, Who knoweth not in all these, that the hand of Jehovah hath wrought this? ¿Qué cosa de todas estas no entiende
Que la mano de Jehová la hizo?
10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Lui, dans la main duquel est l'âme de tout être vivant et l'esprit de toute chair d'homme ? 11 Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat? L'oreille n'éprouve-t-elle pas les discours, comme le palais goûte les aliments ? Doth not the ear try words, as the palate tasteth food? Ciertamente el oído distingue las palabras,
Y el paladar gusta las viandas.
12 With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding. Chez les vieillards est la sagesse, et dans beaucoup de jours l'intelligence. With the aged is wisdom, and in length of days understanding. En los ancianos está la ciencia,
Y en la larga edad la inteligencia.
13 With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. Avec lui est la sagesse et la force, à lui sont le conseil et l'intelligence. With him is wisdom and might; he hath counsel and understanding. Con Dios está la sabiduría y el poder;
Suyo es el consejo y la inteligencia.
14 Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. Voici, il démolit, et on ne rebâtit pas ; il enferme un homme, et on ne lui ouvre pas. Behold, he breaketh down, and it is not built again; he shutteth up a man, and there is no opening. Si él derriba, no hay quien edifique;
Encerrará al hombre, y no habrá quien le abra.
15 Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth. Voici, il retient les eaux, et elles tarissent ; puis il les envoie, et elles bouleversent la terre. 16 With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his. Avec lui est la force et la parfaite connaissance ; à lui sont celui qui erre et celui qui fait errer. With him is strength and effectual knowledge; the deceived and the deceiver are his. Con él está el poder y la sabiduría;

17 He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools. Il emmène captifs les conseillers, et rend fous les juges ; He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and judges maketh he fools; Él hace andar despojados de consejo a los consejeros,

18 He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle. Il rend impuissant le gouvernement des rois, et lie de chaînes leurs reins ; He weakeneth the government of kings, and bindeth their loins with a fetter; Él rompe las cadenas de los tiranos,

20 He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. 24 He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. Il ôte le sens aux chefs du peuple de la terre, et les fait errer dans un désert où il n'y a pas de chemin ; He taketh away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste.
