Et quarante jours s'accomplirent pour lui ; car ainsi s'accomplissaient les jours de l'embaumement. Et les Égyptiens le pleurèrent soixante-dix jours. |

And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying, |

My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again. |
Mon père m'a fait jurer, disant : Voici, je meurs ; dans le sépulcre que je me suis taillé dans le pays de Canaan, là tu m'enterreras. Et maintenant, permets que je monte, et que j'enterre mon père ; et je reviendrai. |

And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt, |
Et Joseph monta pour enterrer son père ; et tous les serviteurs du Pharaon, les anciens de sa maison, et tous les anciens du pays d'Égypte, montèrent avec lui, |

And Joseph went up to bury his father; and with him went up all the bondmen of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt, |
Entonces José subió para sepultar a su padre; y subieron con él todos los siervos de Faraón, los ancianos de su casa, y todos los ancianos de la tierra de Egipto, |

And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father’s house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen. |
et toute la maison de Joseph, et ses frères, et la maison de son père ; seulement ils laissèrent leurs petits enfants, et leur menu et leur gros bétail dans le pays de Goshen. |

And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company. |

And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days. |
Et ils vinrent à l'aire d'Atad, qui est au delà du Jourdain, et ils s'y lamentèrent de grandes et profondes lamentations ; et [Joseph] fit à son père un deuil de sept jours. |

And they came to the threshing-floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan; and there they lamented with a great and very grievous lamentation; and he made a mourning for his father of seven days. |
Y llegaron hasta la era de Atad, que está al otro lado del Jordán, y endecharon allí con grande y muy triste lamentación; y José hizo a su padre duelo por siete días. |

And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abel–mizraim, which is beyond Jordan. |
Et les habitants du pays, les Cananéens, virent le deuil dans l'aire d'Atad, et ils dirent : C'est ici un grand deuil pour les Égyptiens. C'est pourquoi on appela son nom Abel-Mitsraïma, — qui est au delà du Jourdain. |

And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them: |

For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre. |
et ses fils le transportèrent dans le pays de Canaan, et l'enterrèrent dans la caverne du champ de Macpéla, qu'Abraham avait achetée d'Éphron, le Héthien, avec le champ, en face de Mamré, pour la posséder comme sépulcre. |

And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father. |
Et Joseph, après qu'il eut enterré son père, retourna en Égypte, lui et ses frères, et tous ceux qui étaient montés avec lui pour enterrer son père. |

And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. |
Et les frères de Joseph virent que leur père était mort, et ils dirent : Peut-être Joseph nous haïra-t-il, et ne manquera-t-il pas de nous rendre tout le mal que nous lui avons fait. |

And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, If now Joseph should be hostile to us, and should indeed requite us all the evil that we did to him! |
Viendo los hermanos de José que su padre era muerto, dijeron: Quizá nos aborrecerá José, y nos dará el pago de todo el mal que le hicimos. |

And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying, |

So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. |
Vous direz ainsi à Joseph : Pardonne, je te prie, la transgression de tes frères, et leur péché ; car ils t'ont fait du mal. Et maintenant, pardonne, nous te prions, la transgression des serviteurs du Dieu de ton père. Et Joseph pleura quand ils lui parlèrent. |

Thus shall ye speak to Joseph: Oh forgive, I pray thee, the transgression of thy brethren, and their sin! for they did evil to thee. And now, we pray thee, forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. |
Así diréis a José: Te ruego que perdones ahora la maldad de tus hermanos y su pecado, porque mal te trataron; por tanto, ahora te rogamos que perdones la maldad de los siervos del Dios de tu padre. Y José lloró mientras hablaban. |

And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. |
Et ses frères aussi allèrent, et tombèrent [sur leurs faces] devant lui, et dirent : Nous voici, nous sommes tes serviteurs. |

And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? |
Et Joseph leur dit : Ne craignez point ; car suis-je à la place de Dieu ? |

Y les respondió José: No temáis; ¿acaso estoy yo en lugar de Dios? |

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. |
Vous, vous aviez pensé du mal contre moi : Dieu l'a pensé en bien, pour faire comme il en est aujourd'hui, afin de conserver la vie à un grand peuple. |

Ye indeed meant evil against me: God meant it for good, in order that he might do as it is this day, to save a great people alive. |
Vosotros pensasteis mal contra mí, mas Dios lo encaminó a bien, para hacer lo que vemos hoy, para mantener en vida a mucho pueblo. |

Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them. |
Et maintenant, ne craignez point ; moi je vous entretiendrai, vous et vos petits enfants. Et il les consola, et parla à leur cœur. |

And now, fear not: I will maintain you and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spoke consolingly to them. |
Ahora, pues, no tengáis miedo; yo os sustentaré a vosotros y a vuestros hijos. Así los consoló, y les habló al corazón. |

And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father’s house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years. |
Et Joseph habita en Égypte, lui et la maison de son père ; et Joseph vécut cent dix ans. |

And Joseph saw Ephraim’s children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph’s knees. |
Et Joseph vit les fils d'Éphraïm de la troisième [génération] ; les fils aussi de Makir, fils de Manassé, naquirent sur les genoux de Joseph. |

And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation ; the sons also of Machir the son of Manasseh were born on Joseph's knees. |
Y vio José los hijos de Efraín hasta la tercera generación; también los hijos de Maquir hijo de Manasés fueron criados sobre las rodillas de José. |

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. |
Et Joseph dit à ses frères : Je meurs, et Dieu vous visitera certainement, et vous fera monter de ce pays-ci dans le pays qu'il a promis par serment à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob. |

And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. |
