And she yet again conceived, and bare a son; and called his name Shelah: and he was at Chezib, when she bare him. |

And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar. |

And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. |
Et Juda dit à Onan : Va vers la femme de ton frère, et remplis envers elle le devoir de beau-frère, et suscite de la semence à ton frère. |

Then Judah said to Onan, Go in to thy brother's wife, and fulfil to her the brother-in-law's duty, and raise up seed to thy brother. |
Entonces Judá dijo a Onán: Llégate a la mujer de tu hermano, y despósate con ella, y levanta descendencia a tu hermano. |

And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. |
Et Onan savait que la semence ne serait pas à lui ; et il arriva que lorsqu'il entra vers la femme de son frère, il perdit sur la terre, pour ne pas donner de semence à son frère. |

But when Onan knew that the seed should not be his own, it came to pass when he went in to his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, in order to give no seed to his brother. |
Y sabiendo Onán que la descendencia no había de ser suya, sucedía que cuando se llegaba a la mujer de su hermano, vertía en tierra, por no dar descendencia a su hermano. |

And the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him also. |
Et ce qu'il faisait fut mauvais aux yeux de l'Éternel, et il le fit mourir aussi. |

And the thing which he did was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and he slew him also. |
Y desagradó en ojos de Jehová lo que hacía, y a él también le quitó la vida. |

Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house. |
Et Juda dit à Tamar, sa belle-fille : Demeure veuve dans la maison de ton père, jusqu'à ce que Shéla, mon fils, soit devenu grand ; car il dit : De peur qu'il ne meure, lui aussi, comme ses frères. Et Tamar s'en alla, et demeura dans la maison de son père. |

And Judah said to Tamar his daughter-in-law, Remain a widow in thy father's house, until Shelah my son is grown; for he said, Lest he die also, as his brethren. And Tamar went and remained in her father's house. |
Y Judá dijo a Tamar su nuera: Quédate viuda en casa de tu padre, hasta que crezca Sela mi hijo; porque dijo: No sea que muera él también como sus hermanos. Y se fue Tamar, y estuvo en casa de su padre. |

And in process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah’s wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite. |
Et les jours se multiplièrent, et la fille de Shua, femme de Juda, mourut ; et Juda se consola, et monta à Thimna, lui et Hira, l'Adullamite, son ami, vers les tondeurs de son troupeau. |

And as the days were multiplied, Judah's wife, the daughter of Shua, died. And Judah was comforted, and he went up to his sheep-shearers, to Timnah, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite. |
Pasaron muchos días, y murió la hija de Súa, mujer de Judá. Después Judá se consoló, y subía a los trasquiladores de sus ovejas a Timnat, él y su amigo Hira el adulamita. |

And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep. |
Et on l'annonça à Tamar, en disant : Voici, ton beau-père monte à Thimna pour tondre son troupeau. |

And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife. |
Et elle ôta de dessus elle les vêtements de son veuvage, et se couvrit d'un voile, et s'enveloppa, et s'assit à l'entrée d'Énaïm, qui était sur le chemin de Thimna ; car elle voyait que Shéla était devenu grand, et qu'elle ne lui était pas donnée pour femme. |

And she put the garments of her widowhood off from her, and covered herself with a veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in the entry of Enaim, which is on the way to Timnah; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given to him as wife. |
Entonces se quitó ella los vestidos de su viudez, y se cubrió con un velo, y se arrebozó, y se puso a la entrada de Enaim junto al camino de Timnat; porque veía que había crecido Sela, y ella no era dada a él por mujer. |

When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face. |
Et Juda la vit, et la tint pour une prostituée, car elle avait couvert son visage. |

Y la vio Judá, y la tuvo por ramera, porque ella había cubierto su rostro. |

And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me? |
Et il se détourna vers elle, dans le chemin, et dit : Permets, je te prie, que je vienne vers toi. Car il ne savait pas que ce fût sa belle-fille. Et elle dit : Que me donneras-tu, afin que tu viennes vers moi ? |

And he turned aside to her by the way, and said, Come, I pray thee, let me go in to thee; for he did not know that she was his daughter-in-law. And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in to me? |
Y se apartó del camino hacia ella, y le dijo: Déjame ahora llegarme a ti: pues no sabía que era su nuera; y ella dijo: ¿Qué me darás por llegarte a mí? |

And he said, I will send thee a kid from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it? |
Et il dit : J'enverrai un chevreau du troupeau. Et elle dit : [Me] donneras-tu un gage, jusqu'à ce que tu l'envoies ? |

And he said, I will send thee a kid of the goats from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, until thou send it? |
Él respondió: Yo te enviaré del ganado un cabrito de las cabras. Y ella dijo: Dame una prenda hasta que lo envíes. |

And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him. |
Et il dit : Quel gage te donnerai-je ? Et elle dit : Ton cachet, et ton cordon, et ton bâton qui est en ta main. Et il [les] lui donna ; et il vint vers elle, et elle conçut de lui. |

And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy lace, and thy staff which is in thy hand. And he gave it her, and went in to her; and she conceived by him. |

And she arose, and went away, and laid by her vail from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood. |

And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand: but he found her not. |
Et Juda envoya le chevreau par la main de son ami, l'Adullamite, pour recevoir le gage de la main de la femme ; mais il ne la trouva pas. |

Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the way side? And they said, There was no harlot in this place. |
Et il interrogea les hommes du lieu, disant : Où est cette prostituéea qui était à Énaïm, sur le chemin ? Et ils dirent : Il n'y a pas eu ici de prostituéea. |

And he asked the men of her place, saying, Where is the prostitute that was at Enaim, by the way-side? And they said, There was no prostitute here. |
Y preguntó a los hombres de aquel lugar, diciendo: ¿Dónde está la ramera de Enaim junto al camino? Y ellos le dijeron: No ha estado aquí ramera alguna. |

And he returned to Judah, and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said, that there was no harlot in this place. |
Et il retourna vers Juda, et dit : Je ne l'ai pas trouvée, et aussi les gens du lieu m'ont dit : Il n'y a pas eu ici de prostituéea. |

And he returned to Judah, and said, I have not found her; and also the men of the place said, No prostitute has been here. |
Entonces él se volvió a Judá, y dijo: No la he hallado; y también los hombres del lugar dijeron: Aquí no ha estado ramera. |

And Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her. |
Et Juda dit : Qu'elle prenne le [gage] pour elle, de peur que nous ne soyons en mépris. Voici, j'ai envoyé ce chevreau, et toi tu ne l'as pas trouvée. |

Then Judah said, Let her take it for herself, lest we be put to shame. Behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her. |
Y Judá dijo: Tómeselo para sí, para que no seamos menospreciados; he aquí yo he enviado este cabrito, y tú no la hallaste. |

And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. |
Et il arriva, environ trois mois après, qu'on informa Juda, en disant : Tamar, ta belle-fille, s'est prostituée, et voici, elle est même enceinte par la prostitution. Et Juda dit : Faites-la sortir, et qu'elle soit brûlée. |

And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter-in-law has committed fornication, and behold, she is also with child by fornication. And Judah said, Bring her forth, that she may be burned. |
Sucedió que al cabo de unos tres meses fue dado aviso a Judá, diciendo: Tamar tu nuera ha fornicado, y ciertamente está encinta a causa de las fornicaciones. Y Judá dijo: Sacadla, y sea quemada. |

When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff. |
Comme on la faisait sortir, elle envoya vers son beau-père, disant : C'est de l'homme à qui appartiennent ces choses que je suis enceinte. Et elle dit : Reconnais, je te prie, à qui est ce cachet, et ce cordon, et ce bâton. |

When she was brought forth, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, By the man to whom these belong am I with child; and she said, Acknowledge, I pray thee, whose are this signet, and this lace, and this staff. |
Pero ella, cuando la sacaban, envió a decir a su suegro: Del varón cuyas son estas cosas, estoy encinta. También dijo: Mira ahora de quién son estas cosas, el sello, el cordón y el báculo. |

And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more. |
Et Juda [les] reconnut, et dit : Elle est plus juste que moi ; parce que je ne l'ai pas donnée à Shéla, mon fils. Et il ne la connut plus. |

And Judah acknowledged them , and said, She is more righteous than I, because I have not given her to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more. |
Entonces Judá los reconoció, y dijo: Más justa es ella que yo, por cuanto no la he dado a Sela mi hijo. Y nunca más la conoció. |

And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb. |
Et il arriva, au temps où elle enfanta, que voici, des jumeaux étaient dans son ventre ; |

And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. |
et il arriva, comme elle enfantait, que [l'un d'eux] tendit la main ; et la sage-femme la prit, et lia sur sa main un fil écarlate, en disant : Celui-ci sort le premier. |

And it came to pass when she brought forth, that one stretched out his hand, and the midwife took it and bound round his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. |
Sucedió cuando daba a luz, que sacó la mano el uno, y la partera tomó y ató a su mano un hilo de grana, diciendo: Este salió primero. |

And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez. |
Et il arriva, comme il retira sa main, que voici, son frère sortit ; et elle dit : Quelle brèche tu as faite ! La brèche est sur toi. Et on appela son nom Péretsb. |

And it came to pass as he drew back his hand, that behold, his brother came out; and she said, How hast thou broken forth! on thee be the breach! And they called his name Pherez. |

And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah. |
