After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. After these things the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram; I am thy shield, thy exceeding great reward.
And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? And Abram said, Lord Jehovah, what wilt thou give me? seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus.
And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And Abram said, Lo, to me thou hast given no seed, and behold, a son of my house will be mine heir. Dijo también Abram: Mira que no me has dado prole, y he aquí que será mi heredero un esclavo nacido en mi casa.
And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And behold, the word of Jehovah came to him, saying, This shall not be thine heir, but he that will come forth out of thy body shall be thine heir.
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he led him out, and said, Look now toward the heavens, and number the stars, if thou be able to number them. And he said to him, So shall thy seed be!
And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. And he believed Jehovah; and he reckoned it to him as righteousness.
And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. And he said to him, I am Jehovah who brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give thee this land to possess it.
And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? And he said, Lord Jehovah, how shall I know that I shall possess it?
And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. And he said to him, Take me a heifer of three years old, and a she-goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtle-dove, and a young pigeon.
And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. And he took all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid the half of each opposite its fellow; but the birds he did not divide.
And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. And the birds of prey came down on the carcases; and Abram scared them away.
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. And as the sun was just going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, a horror, a great darkness, fell upon him.
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; Et [l'Éternel] dit à Abram : Sache certainement que ta semence séjournera dans un pays qui n'est pas le sien, et ils l'asserviront, et l'opprimeront pendant quatre cents ans. And he said to Abram, Know assuredly that thy seed will be a sojourner in a land that is not theirs, and they shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.
And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. But also that nation which they shall serve I will judge; and afterwards they shall come out with great property.
And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. Y tú vendrás a tus padres en paz, y serás sepultado en buena vejez.
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. And in the fourth generation they shall come hither again; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. And it came to pass when the sun had gone down, and it was dark, that behold, there was a smoking furnace, and a flame of fire which passed between those pieces.
In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: En ce jour-là, l'Éternel fit une alliance avec Abram, disant : Je donne ce pays à ta semence, depuis le fleuvee d'Égypte jusqu'au grand fleuve, le fleuve Euphrate : On the same day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates; En aquel día hizo Jehová un pacto con Abram, diciendo: A tu descendencia daré esta tierra,e desde el río de Egipto hasta el río grande, el río Éufrates;
