And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory. |

If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked. |
S'il disait ainsi : Les marquetés seront ton salaire, alors tout le bétail faisait des marquetés. Et s'il disait ainsi : Les rayés seront ton salaire, alors tout le bétail faisait des rayés. |

If he said thus; The speckled shall be thy hire, then all the flocks bore speckled; and if he said thus: The ringstraked shall be thy hire, then all the flocks bore ringstraked. |

And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me. |

Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel’s furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not. |

And she said to her father, Let it not be an occasion of anger in the eyes of my lord that I cannot rise up before thee, for it is with me after the manner of women. And he searched carefully, but did not find the teraphim. |

And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me? |
Et Jacob se mit en colère, et querella Laban ; et Jacob répondit et dit à Laban : Quelle est ma faute, quel est mon péché, que tu m'aies poursuivi avec ardeur ? |

And Jacob was angry, and he disputed with Laban. And Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my fault, what my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me? |

Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both. |
Quand tu as fouillé tous mes effets, qu'as-tu trouvé de tous les effets de ta maison ? Mets-le ici devant mes frères et tes frères, et qu'ils jugent entre nous deux. |

Whereas thou hast explored all my baggage, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? Set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, and let them decide between us both. |

And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born? |

And Jacob said to his brethren, Gather stones. And they took stones, and made a heap, and ate there upon the heap. |

And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed; |

If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee. |
Si tu maltraites mes filles, et si tu prends des femmes outre mes filles (il n'y a aucun homme avec nous), regarde, Dieu est témoin entre moi et toi. |

Si afligieres a mis hijas, o si tomares otras mujeres además de mis hijas, nadie está con nosotros; mira, Dios es testigo entre nosotros dos. |

And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee; |
Et Laban dit à Jacob : Voici ce monceau, et voici la stèle que j'ai élevée entre moi et toi ; |

And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold the pillar which I have set up between me and thee: |
Dijo más Labán a Jacob: He aquí este majano, y he aquí esta señal, que he erigido entre tú y yo. |

This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm. |
ce monceau sera témoin, et la stèle sera témoin, que moi je ne passerai point ce monceau [pour aller] vers toi, et que toi, tu ne passeras point ce monceau et cette stèle [pour venir] vers moi, pour [faire] du mal. |

let this heap be witness, and the pillar a witness, that neither I pass this heap to go to thee, nor thou pass this heap and this pillar to come to me, for harm. |
Testigo sea este majano, y testigo sea esta señal, que ni yo pasaré de este majano contra ti, ni tú pasarás de este majano ni de esta señal contra mí, para mal. |

The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac. |

Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount. |
Et Jacob offrit un sacrifice sur la montagne et invita ses frères à manger le pain : et ils mangèrent le pain, et passèrent la nuit sur la montagne. |
