For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also? |
car ce que tu avais avant moi était peu de chose, et s'est accru et est devenu une multitude ; et l'Éternel t'a béni depuis que je suis venui. Et maintenant, quand travaillerai-je, moi aussi, pour ma maison ? |

For it was little that thou hadst before me, and it is increased to a multitude, and Jehovah has blessed thee from the time I came; and now, when shall I also provide for my house? |

And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock: |
Et [Laban] dit : Que te donnerai-je ? Et Jacob dit : Tu ne me donneras rien. Si tu veux faire ceci pour moi, je paîtrai encore ton bétail, [et] je le garderai : |

And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me anything. If thou doest this for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock: |

I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire. |
je passerai aujourd'hui par tout ton bétail, j'en ôterai toute bête marquetée et tachetée, et tous les agneaux foncés, et ce qui est tacheté et marqueté parmi les chèvres ; et ce sera là mon salaire. |

I will pass through all thy flock to-day, to remove thence all the speckled and spotted sheep, and all the brown lambs, and the spotted and speckled among the goats; and that shall be my hire. |
Yo pasaré hoy por todo tu rebaño, poniendo aparte todas las ovejas manchadas y salpicadas de color, y todas las ovejas de color oscuro, y las manchadas y salpicadas de color entre las cabras; y esto será mi salario. |

So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me. |
Et ma justice répondra pour moi désormais, quand elle viendra devant toi pour mon salaire ; tout ce qui ne sera pas marqueté et tacheté parmi les chèvres, et foncé parmi les agneaux, auprès de moi, sera tenu pour volé. |

And my righteousness shall answer for me hereafter, when thou comest about my hire, before thy face: all that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the lambs, let that be stolen with me. |
Así responderá por mí mi honradez mañana, cuando vengas a reconocer mi salario; toda la que no fuere pintada ni manchada en las cabras, y de color oscuro entre mis ovejas, se me ha de tener como de hurto. |

And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word. |

And he removed that day the he goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons. |

And he removed that day the he-goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she-goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and all the brown among the lambs, and gave them into the hand of his sons. |

And he set three days’ journey betwixt himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of Laban’s flocks. |

And Jacob took fresh rods of white poplar, almond-tree, and maple; and peeled off white stripes in them, uncovering the white which was on the rods. |
Tomó luego Jacob varas verdes de álamo, de avellano y de castaño, y descortezó en ellas mondaduras blancas, descubriendo así lo blanco de las varas. |

And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink. |
Et il plaça les branches, qu'il avait pelées, devant le bétail dans les auges, dans les abreuvoirs où le bétail venait boire ; et le bétail entrait en chaleur lorsqu'il venait boire ; |

And he set the rods which he had peeled before the flock, in the troughs at the watering-places where the flock came to drink, and they were ardent when they came to drink. |
Y puso las varas que había mondado delante del ganado, en los canales de los abrevaderos del agua donde venían a beber las ovejas, las cuales procreaban cuando venían a beber. |

And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted. |

And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban’s cattle. |
Et Jacob sépara les agneaux, et tourna la face du troupeau vers ce qui était rayé et tout ce qui était foncé dans le bétail de Laban ; et il mit ses troupeaux à part, et ne les mit pas auprès du bétail de Laban. |

And Jacob separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flock toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he made himself separate flocks, and did not put them with Laban's flock. |

And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods. |

And it came to pass whensoever the strong cattle were ardent, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, that they might become ardent among the rods; |

But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban’s, and the stronger Jacob’s. |
