1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and without remedy.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. Quand les justes se multiplient, le peuple se réjouit ; mais quand le méchant gouverne, le peuple gémit. When the righteous increase, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. Cuando los justos dominan, el pueblo se alegra;
3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance. L'homme qui aime la sagesse est la joie de son père, mais le compagnon des prostituées dissipera son bien. Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father; but he that is a companion of harlots destroyeth his substance. El hombre que ama la sabiduría alegra a su padre;
4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it. Un roi, par le juste jugement, affermit le pays, mais l'homme qui accepte des présents le ruine. A king by just judgment establisheth the land; but he that taketh gifts overthroweth it. El rey con el juicio afirma la tierra;
Mas el que exige presentes la destruye.
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet. A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his steps. El hombre que lisonjea a su prójimo,
Red tiende delante de sus pasos.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice. Dans la transgression de l'homme mauvais, il y a un piège ; mais le juste chantera et se réjouira. In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; but the righteous shall sing and rejoice. En la transgresión del hombre malo hay lazo;
Mas el justo cantará y se alegrará.
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it. Le juste prend connaissance de la cause des pauvres ; le méchant ne comprend aucune connaissance. The righteous taketh knowledge of the cause of the poor; the wicked understandeth not knowledge. Conoce el justo la causa de los pobres;
Mas el impío no entiende sabiduría.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. Les hommes moqueurs mettent en feu une ville, mais les sages détournent la colère. Scornful men set the city in a flame; but the wise turn away anger. Los hombres escarnecedores ponen la ciudad en llamas;
Mas los sabios apartan la ira.
9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest. If a wise man contendeth with a fool, whether he rage or laugh, he hath no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul. The bloodthirsty hate the perfect, but the upright care for his soul. Los hombres sanguinarios aborrecen al perfecto,
Mas los rectos buscan su contentamiento.
11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. A fool uttereth all his mind; but a wise man keepeth it back.
12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked. If a ruler hearken to lying words, all his servants are wicked. Si un gobernante atiende la palabra mentirosa,
Todos sus servidores serán impíos.
13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lighteneth both their eyes. Le pauvre et l'oppresseur se rencontrent, l'Éternel éclaire les yeux de tous deux. The indigent and the oppressor meet together; Jehovah lighteneth the eyes of them both. El pobre y el usurero se encuentran;
Jehová alumbra los ojos de ambos.
14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever. A king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. La verge et la répréhension donnent la sagesse, mais le jeune garçon abandonné à lui-même fait honte à sa mère. The rod and reproof give wisdom; but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. La vara y la corrección dan sabiduría;
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. Quand les méchants se multiplient, la transgression se multiplie ; mais les justes verront leur chute. When the wicked increase, transgression increaseth; but the righteous shall see their fall. Cuando los impíos son muchos, mucha es la transgresión;
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. Chasten thy son, and he shall give thee rest, and shall give delight unto thy soul. Corrige a tu hijo, y te dará descanso,
Y dará alegría a tu alma.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Quand il n'y a point de vision, le peuple est sans frein ; mais bienheureux celui qui garde la loi ! Where there is no vision the people cast off restraint; but happy is he that keepeth the law. Sin profecía el pueblo se desenfrena;
19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer. Un serviteur n'est pas corrigé par des paroles ; car il comprend, mais il ne répond pas. A servant is not corrected by words: he understandeth indeed, but he will not answer. El siervo no se corrige con palabras;
Porque entiende, mas no hace caso.
20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. Hast thou seen a man hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length. He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child, shall in the end have him as a son.
22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression. An angry man exciteth contention; and a furious man aboundeth in transgression. El hombre iracundo levanta contiendas,
Y el furioso muchas veces peca.
23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. L'orgueil d'un homme l'abaisse, mais celui qui est humble d'esprit acquiert la gloire. A man's pride bringeth him low; but the humble in spirit shall obtain honour. La soberbia del hombre le abate;
24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not. Qui partage avec un voleur hait son âme ; il entend l'adjuratione, et ne déclare pas [la chose]. Whoso shareth with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth the adjuration, and declareth not. El cómplice del ladrón aborrece su propia alma;
Pues oye la imprecación y no dice nada.
25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. La crainte des hommes tend un piège, mais qui se confie en l'Éternel est élevé dans une haute retraite. The fear of man bringeth a snare; but whoso putteth his confidence in Jehovah is protected. El temor del hombre pondrá lazo;
26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord. Plusieurs cherchent la face du gouverneur, mais le juste jugement d'un homme vient de l'Éternel. Many seek the ruler's face; but a man's right judgment is from Jehovah. Muchos buscan el favor del príncipe;
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked. L'homme inique est l'abomination des justes, et celui qui est droit dans sa voie, l'abomination du méchant. An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous; and he that is of upright way is an abomination to the wicked man . Abominación es a los justos el hombre inicuo;
