And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? |

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? |

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. |

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. |

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? |
Plusieurs me diront en ce jour-là : Seigneur, Seigneur, n'avons-nous pas prophétisé en ton nom, et n'avons-nous pas chassé des démons en ton nom, et n'avons-nous pas fait beaucoup de miracles en ton nom ? |
Muchos me dirán en aquel día: ¡Señor, Señor! ¿No profetizamos en tu nombre, y en tu nombre echamos fuera demonios, y en tu nombre hicimos muchas obras poderosas? |
Many shall say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied through *thy* name, and through *thy* name cast out demons, and through *thy* name done many works of power? |

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. |

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: |

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. |
et la pluie est tombée, et les torrents sont venus, et les vents ont soufflé et ont donné contre cette maison ; et elle n'est pas tombée, car elle avait été fondée sur le roc. |
Cayó la lluvia, vinieron los torrentes, soplaron vientos, dieron con ímpetu contra aquella casa y no cayó; porque estaba fundada sobre la roca. |
and the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew and fell upon that house, and it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. |

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: |
