Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days he ascended from Cæsarea to Jerusalem. |

Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and besought him, |

And the chief priests and the chief of the Jews laid informations before him against Paul, and besought him, |

And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him. |

But Festus answered, that Paul should be kept at Cæsarea, and that he himself would depart shortly thither. |

Festus therefore answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was about to set out shortly. |

Let them therefore, said he, which among you are able, go down with me, and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him. |
Que les hommes influents parmi vous descendent donc avec [moi], dit-il ; et s'il y a quelque crime en cet homme, qu'ils l'accusent. |

Let therefore the persons of authority among you, says he, going down too, if there be anything in this man, accuse him. |

And when he had tarried among them more than ten days, he went down unto Cæsarea; and the next day sitting on the judgment seat commanded Paul to be brought. |
Et n'ayant pas séjourné parmi eux plus de huit ou dix jours, il descendit à Césarée ; et le lendemain, s'étant assis sur le tribunal, il donna l'ordre que Paul fût amené. |
Después de pasar entre ellos unos ocho o diez días, bajó a Cesarea; y al día siguiente se sentó en el tribunal y mandó que llevaran a Pablo. |
And having remained among them not more than eight or ten days, he went down to Caesarea; and on the next day, having sat down on the judgment-seat, commanded Paul to be brought. |
Y deteniéndose entre ellos no más de ocho o diez días, venido a Cesarea, al siguiente día se sentó en el tribunal, y mandó que fuese traído Pablo. |

And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove. |
Et lorsqu'il fut arrivé, les Juifs qui étaient descendus de Jérusalem se tinrent à l'entour, portant contre [Paul] de nombreuses et graves accusations qu'ils ne pouvaient prouver ; |

And when he was come, the Jews who were come down from Jerusalem stood round, bringing many and grievous charges which they were not able to prove: |

While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Cæsar, have I offended any thing at all. |
tandis que Paul se défendait, [en disant] : Je n'ai péché en rien, ni contre la loi des Juifs, ni contre le temple, ni contre César. |
mientras Pablo se defendía: Ni contra la ley de los judíos, ni contra el templo, ni contra César he cometido pecado alguno. |
Paul answering for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar, have I offended in anything. |

But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me? |
Mais Festus, voulant gagner la faveur des Juifs, répondit à Paul et dit : Veux-tu monter à Jérusalem pour y être jugé quant à ces choses, devant moi ? |
Pero Festo, queriendo ganarse el favor de los judíos, respondió a Pablo y dijo: ¿Quieres subir a Jerusalén, y ser juzgado ante mí de estas acusaciones? |
But Festus, desirous of obliging the Jews, to acquire their favour, answering Paul, said, Art thou willing to go up to Jerusalem, there to be judged before me concerning these things? |
Pero Festo, queriendo congraciarse con los judíos, respondiendo a Pablo dijo: ¿Quieres subir a Jerusalén, y allá ser juzgado de estas cosas delante de mí? |

Then said Paul, I stand at Cæsar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest. |
Et Paul dit : Je suis ici devant le tribunal de Césara, où je dois être jugé. Je n'ai fait aucun tort aux Juifs, comme tu le sais toi-même très-bien. |
A lo que Pablo dijo: Ante el tribunal de César estoy, en él debo ser juzgado. A los judíos en nada he perjudicado, como tú muy bien sabes. |
But Paul said, I am standing before the judgment-seat of Caesar, where I ought to be judged. To the Jews have I done no wrong, as *thou* also very well knowest. |
Pablo dijo: Ante el tribunal de César estoy, donde debo ser juzgado. A los judíos no les he hecho ningún agravio, como tú sabes muy bien. |

For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Cæsar. |
Si donc je leur ai fait tort, ou que j'aie fait quelque chose qui soit digne de mort, je ne refuse pas de mourir ; mais si rien n'est [vrai] de ce dont ils m'accusent, personne ne peut me livrer à eux : j'en appelle à César. |
Si he cometido algún delito o crimen digno de muerte, no rehúso morir; pero si nada hay de lo que estos me acusan, nadie puede entregarme a ellos. ¡Apelo a César! |
If then I have done any wrong and committed anything worthy of death, I do not deprecate dying; but if there is nothing of those things of which they accuse me, no man can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar. |
Porque si algún agravio, o cosa alguna digna de muerte he hecho, no rehúso morir; pero si nada hay de las cosas de que estos me acusan, nadie puede entregarme a ellos. A César apelo. |

Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Hast thou appealed unto Cæsar? unto Cæsar shalt thou go. |
Alors Festus, ayant conféré avec le conseil, répondit : Tu en as appelé à César, tu iras à César. |
Entonces Festo, después de consultar con los del consejo, respondió: ¡A César has apelado, a César irás! |
Then Festus, having conferred with the council, answered, Thou hast appealed to Caesar. To Caesar shalt thou go. |

And after certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came unto Cæsarea to salute Festus. |
Or, quelques jours s'étant écoulés, le roi Agrippab et Bérénice vinrent à Césarée pour saluer Festus. |
Pasados algunos días, el rey Agripa y Berenice llegaron a Cesarea, para saludar a Festo. |
And when certain days had elapsed, Agrippa the king and Bernice arrived at Caesarea to salute Festus. |

And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul’s cause unto the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix: |
Et comme ils séjournaient là plusieurs jours, Festus exposa au roi l'affaire de Paul, disant : Un certain homme a été laissé [ici] prisonnier par Félix, |
Como pasaban allí muchos días, Festo expuso al rey el caso de Pablo, diciendo: Hay aquí un hombre que Félix ha dejado preso; |
And when they had spent many days there, Festus laid before the king the matters relating to Paul, saying, There is a certain man left prisoner by Felix, |
Y como estuvieron allí muchos días, Festo expuso al rey la causa de Pablo, diciendo: Un hombre ha sido dejado preso por Félix, |

About whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, desiring to have judgment against him. |
au sujet duquel, lorsque j'étais à Jérusalem, les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens des Juifs ont porté plainte, sollicitant une sentence contre lui : |
cuando fui a Jerusalén, los jefes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos de los judíos lo acusaron ante mí, solicitando una sentencia contra él. |
concerning whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews laid informations, requiring judgment against him: |

To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him. |
mais je leur ai répondu que ce n'est pas la coutume des Romains de livrer quelqu'un avant que l'accusé ait ses accusateurs devant lui et qu'il ait l'occasion de se défendre de ce dont il est accusé. |
A los cuales respondí que los romanos no tienen costumbre de entregar a ningún hombre antes de que el acusado tenga a sus acusadores frente a él, y pueda defenderse de la acusación. |
to whom I answered, It is not the custom of the Romans to give up any man before that the accused have the accusers face to face, and he have got opportunity of defence touching the charge. |
A estos respondí que no es costumbre de los romanos entregar alguno a la muerte antes que el acusado tenga delante a sus acusadores, y pueda defenderse de la acusación. |

Therefore, when they were come hither, without any delay on the morrow I sat on the judgment seat, and commanded the man to be brought forth. |
Quand donc ils furent venus ici, sans aucun délai, le jour suivant, m'étant assis sur le tribunal, j'ordonnai que cet homme fût amené ; |
Cuando se reunieron aquí, sin demora, al día siguiente, me senté en el tribunal y mandé llamar al hombre; |
When therefore they had come together here, without putting it off, I sat the next day on the judgment-seat and commanded the man to be brought: |
Así que, habiendo venido ellos juntos acá, sin ninguna dilación, al día siguiente, sentado en el tribunal, mandé traer al hombre. |

Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed: |
au sujet duquel les accusateurs, se tenant là, n'avancèrent aucune charge relativement aux choses que moi je supposais ; |
en su presencia, los acusadores no presentaban ninguna acusación de los delitos que yo sospechaba; |
concerning whom the accusers, standing up, brought no such accusation of guilt as *I* supposed; |

But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive. |
mais ils avaient contre lui quelques questions touchant leur culte religieux et touchant un certain Jésus mort, que Paul affirmait être vivant. |
sino que tenían con él algunas controversias acerca de su religión, y de un tal Jesús, que ha muerto, y que Pablo afirma que vive. |
but had against him certain questions of their own system of worship, and concerning a certain Jesus who is dead, whom Paul affirmed to be living. |

And because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters. |
Et comme moi j'étais dans l'embarras pour procéder à une information sur ces choses, je demandai [à cet homme] s'il voulait aller à Jérusalem pour y être jugé quant à ces choses. |

And as I myself was at a loss as to an inquiry into these things, I said, Was he willing to go to Jerusalem and there to be judged concerning these things? |

But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Cæsar. |
Mais Paul, en ayant appelé, [demandant] à être réservé au jugement d'Augustec, je donnai ordre qu'il fût gardé jusqu'à ce que je l'envoyasse à Césarc. |
Pero como Pablo apeló a ser guardado para el juicio de Augusto, mandé que fuese custodiado hasta que lo enviara a César. |
But Paul having appealed to be kept for the cognisance of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I shall send him to Caesar. |

Then Agrippa said unto Festus, I would also hear the man myself. To morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him. |
Et Agrippa [dit] à Festus : Je voudrais bien moi-même aussi entendre cet homme. Demain, dit-il, tu l'entendras. |
Agripa dijo a Festo: Yo también quisiera oír a ese hombre. Festo le dijo: Mañana lo oirás. |
And Agrippa said to Festus, I myself also would desire to hear the man. To-morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him. |

And on the morrow, when Agrippa was come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and was entered into the place of hearing, with the chief captains, and principal men of the city, at Festus’ commandment Paul was brought forth. |
Le lendemain donc, Agrippa et Bérénice étant venus en grande pompe, et étant entrés dans la salle d'audience avec les chiliarques et les principaux de la ville, Paul, sur l'ordre de Festus, fut amené. |
Al día siguiente vinieron Agripa y Berenice, con mucha pompa; entraron en la sala de audiencia con los comandantes y los principales de la ciudad, y por orden de Festo fue traído Pablo. |
On the morrow therefore, Agrippa being come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and having entered into the hall of audience, with the chiliarchs and the men of distinction of the city, and Festus having given command, Paul was brought. |
Al otro día, viniendo Agripa y Berenice con mucha pompa, y entrando en la audiencia con los tribunos y principales hombres de la ciudad, por mandato de Festo fue traído Pablo. |

And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer. |
Et Festus dit : Roi Agrippa, et vous tous qui êtes ici présents avec nous, vous voyez cet homme au sujet duquel toute la multitude des Juifs m'a sollicité, tant à Jérusalem qu'ici, s'écriant qu'il ne devait plus vivre. |
Dijo Festo: Rey Agripa y todos los presentes, veis a este hombre para quien todo el pueblo de los judíos me ha solicitado, tanto en Jerusalén como aquí, gritando a voces que no lo dejase vivir más. |
And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men who are here present with us, ye see this person, concerning whom all the multitude of the Jews applied to me both in Jerusalem and here, crying out against him that he ought not to live any longer. |
Entonces Festo dijo: Rey Agripa, y todos los varones que estáis aquí juntos con nosotros, aquí tenéis a este hombre, respecto del cual toda la multitud de los judíos me ha demandado en Jerusalén y aquí, dando voces que no debe vivir más. |

But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him. |
Mais moi, ayant trouvé qu'il n'avait rien fait qui fût digne de mort, et cet homme lui-même en ayant appelé à Auguste, j'ai résolu de l'envoyer. |
Pero yo consideré que no había hecho nada digno de muerte; y como él mismo apeló a Augusto, determiné enviárselo. |
But I, having found that he had done nothing worthy of death, and this man himself having appealed to Augustus, I have decided to send him; |

Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, O king Agrippa, that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write. |
Mais je n'ai rien de certain à écrire à l'empereurd à son sujet, c'est pourquoi je l'ai amené devant vous, et principalement devant toi, roi Agrippa, en sorte qu'après avoir procédé à un interrogatoire, j'aie quelque chose à écrire ; |
Nada tengo de cierto que comunicar a mi señor de lo que a él respecta. Por lo cual lo he presentado ante vosotros, y especialmente ante ti, oh rey Agripa, para que cuando hayas examinado su caso, yo tenga algo que escribir. |
concerning whom I have nothing certain to write to my lord. Wherefore I have brought him before you, and specially before thee, king Agrippa, so that an examination having been gone into I may have something to write: |
Como no tengo cosa cierta que escribir a mi señor, le he traído ante vosotros, y mayormente ante ti, oh rey Agripa, para que después de examinarle, tenga yo qué escribir. |

For it seemeth to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him. |
car il me semble déraisonnable d'envoyer un prisonnier sans indiquer en même temps les choses qui sont mises à sa charge. |
Porque me parece ilógico enviar a un preso sin indicar también los cargos que hay contra él. |
for it seems to me senseless, sending a prisoner, not also to signify the charges against him. |
Porque me parece fuera de razón enviar un preso, y no informar de los cargos que haya en su contra. |
