Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek: |

And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem. |

And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. |

And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. |

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. |
Et une femme nommée Lydie, marchande de pourpre de la ville de Thyatire, qui servait Dieu, écoutait ; et le Seigneur lui ouvrit le cœur pour qu'elle fût attentive aux choses que Paul disait. |
Y una mujer llamada Lidia, negociante de púrpura, de la ciudad de Tiatira, que adoraba a Dios, escuchaba; y el Señor abrió su corazón para que prestara atención a las cosas dichas por Pablo. |
And a certain woman, by name Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, who worshipped God, heard; whose heart the Lord opened to attend to the things spoken by Paul. |
Entonces una mujer llamada Lidia, vendedora de púrpura, de la ciudad de Tiatira, que adoraba a Dios, estaba oyendo; y el Señor abrió el corazón de ella para que estuviese atenta a lo que Pablo decía. |

And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. |
Et après qu'elle eut été baptisée ainsi que sa maison, elle [nous] pria, disant : Si vous jugez que je suis fidèle au Seigneur, entrez dans ma maison, et demeurez-y. Et elle nous y contraignit. |

And when she had been baptised and her house, she besought us , saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and abide there . And she constrained us. |

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: |
Or il arriva que, comme nous allions à la prière, une servante qui avait un esprit de pythonb et qui, en prophétisant, procurait à ses maîtres un grand gain, vint au-devant de nous. |

And it came to pass as we were going to prayer that a certain female slave, having a spirit of Python, met us, who brought much profit to her masters by prophesying. |
Aconteció que mientras íbamos a la oración, nos salió al encuentro una muchacha que tenía espíritu de adivinación, la cual daba gran ganancia a sus amos, adivinando. |

The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. |

And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. |
Et elle fit cela pendant plusieurs jours. Mais Paul, affligé, se retourna et dit à l'esprit : Je te commande au nom de Jésus Christ de sortir d'elle. Et à l'heure même il sortit. |

And this she did many days. And Paul, being distressed, turned, and said to the spirit, I enjoin thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And it came out the same hour. |
Y esto lo hacía por muchos días; mas desagradando a Pablo, este se volvió y dijo al espíritu: Te mando en el nombre de Jesucristo, que salgas de ella. Y salió en aquella misma hora. |

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, |

And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, |

And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans. |

And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them. |

And the crowd rose up too against them; and the praetors, having torn off their clothes, commanded to scourge them . |

And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: |

Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. |

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. |

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. |
Et tout d'un coup il se fit un grand tremblement de terre, de sorte que les fondements de la prison furent ébranlés ; et au même instant toutes les portes s'ouvrirent, et les liens de tous furent détachés. |

And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison shook, and all the doors were immediately opened, and the bonds of all loosed. |
Entonces sobrevino de repente un gran terremoto, de tal manera que los cimientos de la cárcel se sacudían; y al instante se abrieron todas las puertas, y las cadenas de todos se soltaron. |

And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. |

But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. |

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, |
Et ayant demandé de la lumière, le geôlier s'élança dans [la prison], et tout tremblant il se jeta aux pieds de Paul et de Silas. |
Él pidió luz, entró aprisa y, tembloroso, se postró ante Pablo y Silas; |
And having asked for lights, he rushed in, and, trembling, fell down before Paul and Silas. |

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? |

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. |

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. |

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. |

And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go. |

And when it was day, the praetors sent the lictors, saying, Let those men go. |

And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace. |
Et le geôlier rapporta ces paroles à Paul, [disant] : Les préteurs ont envoyé afin que vous soyez relâchés ; sortez donc maintenant, et allez-vous-en en paix. |

And the jailor reported these words to Paul: The praetors have sent that ye may be let go. Now therefore go out and depart in peace. |
Y el carcelero hizo saber estas palabras a Pablo: Los magistrados han mandado a decir que se os suelte; así que ahora salid, y marchaos en paz. |

But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out. |
Mais Paul leur dit : Après nous avoir fait battre publiquement, sans que nous fussions condamnés, nous qui sommes Romains, ils nous ont jetés en prison ; et maintenant ils nous mettent dehors en secret ! Non certes, mais qu'ils viennent eux-mêmes et qu'ils nous mènent dehors ! |

But Paul said to them, Having beaten us publicly uncondemned, us who are Romans, they have cast us into prison, and now they thrust us out secretly? no, indeed, but let them come themselves and bring us out. |

And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans. |

And the lictors reported these words to the praetors. And they were afraid when they heard they were Romans. |

And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city. |

And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed. |
