And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara: |

Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden. |

And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. |

And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed. |

But when we had completed the days, we set out and took our journey, all of them accompanying us, with wives and children, till we were out of the city. And kneeling down upon the shore we prayed. |

And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. |

And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. |
et étant venu auprès de nous et ayant pris la ceinture de Paul, et s'étant lié les pieds et les mains, il dit : L'Esprit Saint dit ces choses : L'homme à qui est cette ceinture, les Juifs à Jérusalem le lieront ainsi et le livreront entre les mains des nations. |

And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. |

Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. |

And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done. |

There went with us also certain of the disciples of Cæsarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge. |

And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly. |

And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law: |

And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs. |
Or ils ont ouï dire de toi, que tu enseignes à tous les Juifs qui sont parmi les nations de renoncer à Moïse, disant qu'ils ne doivent pas circoncire leurs enfants, ni vivree selon les coutumes. |

And they have been informed concerning thee, that thou teachest all the Jews among the nations apostasy from Moses, saying that they should not circumcise their children, nor walk in the customs. |

What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come. |

What is it then? a multitude must necessarily come together, for they will hear that thou art come. |

Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them; |

Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law. |

As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. |
Mais à l'égard de ceux des nationsf qui ont cru, nous [en] avons écrit, ayant décidé qu'ils n'ont rien de semblable à observer, si ce n'est qu'ils se gardent et de ce qui est sacrifié aux idoles, et du sang, et de ce qui est étouffé, et de la fornication. |

But concerning those of the nations who have believed, we have written, deciding that they should observe no such thing, only to keep themselves both from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication. |

Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them. |
Alors Paul, ayant pris les hommes avec lui, et, le jour suivant, s'étant purifié, entra avec eux au temple, annonçant quand seraient accomplis les jours de leur purification, l'époque à laquelle l'offrande aurait été présentée pour chacun d'eux. |

Then Paul, taking the men, on the next day, having been purified, entered with them into the temple, signifying the time the days of the purification would be fulfilled, until the offering was offered for every one of them. |

And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him, |

Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place. |
s'écriant : Hommes israélites, aidez-nous ! C'est ici l'homme qui partout enseigne tout le monde contre le peuple, et la loi, et ce lieu ; et qui de plus a aussi amené des Grecs dans le temple et a profané ce saint lieu. |

crying, Israelites, help! this is the man who teaches all everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place, and has brought Greeks too into the temple, and profaned this holy place. |

(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.) |

And the whole city was moved, and there was a concourse of the people; and having laid hold on Paul they drew him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut. |

And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar. |

Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul. |

who, taking with him immediately soldiers and centurions, ran down upon them. But they, seeing the chiliarch and the soldiers, ceased beating Paul. |

Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done. |

And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle. |

And different persons cried some different thing in the crowd. But he, not being able to know the certainty on account of the uproar, commanded him to be brought into the fortress. |
Pero entre la multitud, unos gritaban una cosa, y otros otra; y como no podía entender nada de cierto a causa del alboroto, le mandó llevar a la fortaleza. |

And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people. |
Et quand il fut sur les degrés, il arriva qu'il fut porté par les soldats à cause de la violence de la foule ; |

But when he got upon the stairs it was so that he was borne by the soldiers on account of the violence of the crowd. |

But as he was about to be led into the fortress, Paul says to the chiliarch, Is it allowed me to say something to thee? And he said, Dost thou know Greek? |
Cuando comenzaron a meter a Pablo en la fortaleza, dijo al tribuno: ¿Se me permite decirte algo? Y él dijo: ¿Sabes griego? |

Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers? |
N'es-tu donc pas l'Égyptien qui, ces jours passés, a excité une sédition et emmené au désert les quatre mille hommes des assassins ? |
¿No eres tú el egipcio que hace unos días provocó un motín y llevó al desierto a los cuatro mil sicarios? |
Thou art not then that Egyptian who before these days raised a sedition and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men of the assassins? |

But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people. |
Et Paul dit : Je suis Juif, de Tarse, citoyen d'une ville de la Cilicie qui n'est pas sans renom ; je te prie, permets-moi de parler au peuple. |
Pablo respondió: En verdad soy judío, de Tarso en Cilicia, ciudadano de una ciudad no sin importancia; te ruego que me permitas hablar al pueblo. |
But Paul said, *I* am a Jew of Tarsus, citizen of no insignificant city of Cilicia, and I beseech of thee, allow me to speak to the people. |
Entonces dijo Pablo: Yo de cierto soy hombre judío de Tarso, ciudadano de una ciudad no insignificante de Cilicia; pero te ruego que me permitas hablar al pueblo. |

And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying, |
Et quand il le lui eut permis, Paul, se tenant sur les degrés, fit signe de la main au peuple, et un grand silence s'étant fait, il leur parla en langue hébraïque, disant : |

And when he had allowed him, Paul, standing on the stairs, beckoned with his hand to the people; and a great silence having been made, he addressed them in the Hebrew tongue, saying, |
