1 And when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness. Et Balaam vit qu'il était bon aux yeux de l'Éternel de bénir Israël, et il n'alla pas, comme d'autres fois, à la rencontre des enchantements, mais il tourna sa face vers le désert. And Balaam saw that it was good in the sight of Jehovah to bless Israel, and he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness. Cuando vio Balaam que parecía bien a Jehová que él bendijese a Israel, no fue, como la primera y segunda vez, en busca de agüero, sino que puso su rostro hacia el desierto;
2 And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him. And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel dwelling in tents according to his tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him. y alzando sus ojos, vio a Israel alojado por sus tribus; y el Espíritu de Dios vino sobre él.
3 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said: Et il proféra son discours sentencieux, et dit :
Balaam, fils de Béor, dita, et l'homme qui a l'œil ouvert, dita :
And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor saith, and the man of opened eye saith, Entonces tomó su parábola, y dijo:
Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor,
Y dijo el varón de ojos abiertos;
4 He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: Celui qui entend les paroles de ∗Dieu, qui voit la vision du Tout-puissantb, qui tombe et qui a les yeux ouverts, dit : He saith, who heareth the words of *God, who seeth the vision of the Almighty, who falleth down, and who hath his eyes open: Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Dios,
El que vio la visión del Omnipotente;
Caído, pero abiertos los ojos:
5 How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel! How goodly are thy tents, Jacob, and thy tabernacles, Israel! ¡Cuán hermosas son tus tiendas, oh Jacob,
Tus habitaciones, oh Israel!
6 As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign aloes which the Lord hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters. Like valleys are they spread forth, like gardens by the river side, Like aloe-trees which Jehovah hath planted, like cedars beside the waters. Como arroyos están extendidas,
Como huertos junto al río,
Como áloes plantados por Jehová,
Como cedros junto a las aguas.
7 He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. L'eau coulera de ses seaux ; et sa semence sera au milieu de grandes eaux ;
Water shall flow out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in great waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. De sus manos destilarán aguas,
Y su descendencia será en muchas aguas;
Enaltecerá su rey más que Agag,
Y su reino será engrandecido.
8 God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows. ∗Dieu l'a fait sortir d'Égypte ; il a comme la forcec des buffles ; il dévorera les nations, ses ennemis ; il casserad leurs os, et les frappera de ses flèchese. *God brought him out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of a buffalo. He shall consume the nations his enemies, and break their bones, and with his arrows shall smite them in pieces. Dios lo sacó de Egipto;
Tiene fuerzas como de búfalo.
Devorará a las naciones enemigas,
Desmenuzará sus huesos,
Y las traspasará con sus saetas.
9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
He stooped, he lay down like a lion, and like a lioness: who will stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee. Se encorvará para echarse como león,
Y como leona; ¿quién lo despertará?a
Benditos los que te bendijeren,
Y malditos los que te maldijeren.b
10 And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times. Then Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times! Entonces se encendió la ira de Balac contra Balaam, y batiendo sus manos le dijo: Para maldecir a mis enemigos te he llamado, y he aquí los has bendecido ya tres veces.
11 Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the Lord hath kept thee back from honour. And now flee thou to thy place; I said I would very highly honour thee, and behold, Jehovah has kept thee back from honour.
12 And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying, Et Balaam dit à Balak : N'ai-je pas aussi parlé à tes messagers que tu as envoyés vers moi, disant : And Balaam said to Balak, Did I not also speak to thy messengers whom thou sentest to me, saying, Y Balaam le respondió: ¿No lo declaré yo también a tus mensajeros que me enviaste, diciendo:
13 If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the Lord, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the Lord saith, that will I speak? If Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the commandment of Jehovah to do good or bad out of my heart: what Jehovah shall say, that will I speak?
14 And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days. And now behold, I go to my people: come, I will admonish thee what this people will do to thy people at the end of days.
15 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said: Et il proféra son discours sentencieux, et dit :
Balaam, fils de Béor, dit, et l'homme qui a l'œil ouvert, dit :
And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor saith, and the man of opened eye saith, Y tomó su parábola, y dijo:
Dijo Balaam hijo de Beor,
Dijo el varón de ojos abiertos;
16 He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: Celui qui entend les paroles de ∗Dieu, et qui connaît la connaissance du Très-hautg, qui voit la vision du Tout-puissanth, qui tombe et qui a les yeux ouverts, dit : He saith, who heareth the words of *God, who knoweth the knowledge of the Most High, Who seeth the vision of the Almighty, who falleth down, and who hath his eyes open: Dijo el que oyó los dichos de Jehová,
El que vio la visión del Omnipotente;
Caído, pero abiertos los ojos:
17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
I shall see him, but not now; I shall behold him, but not nigh: There cometh a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and he shall cut in pieces the corners of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult. Lo veré, mas no ahora;
Lo miraré, mas no de cerca;
18 And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. And Edom shall be a possession, and Seir a possession, --they, his enemies; but Israel will do valiantly. Será tomada Edom,
Será también tomada Seir por sus enemigos,
E Israel se portará varonilmente.
19 Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city. And one out of Jacob shall have dominion, and will destroy out of the city what remaineth.
20 And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
And he saw Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, Amalek is the first of the nations, but his latter end shall be for destruction. Y viendo a Amalec, tomó su parábola y dijo:
Amalec, cabeza de naciones;
Mas al fin perecerá para siempre.
21 And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
And he saw the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Firm is thy dwelling-place, and thy nest fixed in the rock; Y viendo al ceneo, tomó su parábola y dijo:
Fuerte es tu habitación;
Pon en la peña tu nido;
22 Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive. But the Kenite shall be consumed, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive. Porque el ceneo será echado,
Cuando Asiria te llevará cautivo.
23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
Malheur ! Qui vivra, quand ∗Dieu feraj ces choses ?
And he took up his parable, and said, Alas! Who shall live when *God doeth this? Tomó su parábola otra vez, y dijo:
¡Ay! ¿quién vivirá cuando hiciere Dios estas cosas?
24 And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever. And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and afflict Asshur, and afflict Eber, and he also shall be for destruction. Vendrán naves de la costa de Quitim,
Y afligirán a Asiria, afligirán también a Heber;
Mas él también perecerá para siempre.
25 And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way. And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
