And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. |
☆ Et il arriva que comme le peuple se plaignait, cela fut mauvais aux oreilles de l'Éternela ; et l'Éternel l'entendit, et sa colère s'embrasa, et le feu de l'Éternel brûla parmi eux, et dévora au bout du camp. |

And it came to pass that when the people murmured, it was evil in the ears of Jehovah; and Jehovah heard it, and his anger was kindled, and the fire of Jehovah burned among them, and consumed some in the extremity of the camp. |
Aconteció que el pueblo se quejó a oídos de Jehová; y lo oyó Jehová, y ardió su ira, y se encendió en ellos fuego de Jehová, y consumió uno de los extremos del campamento. |

And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched. |

And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? |
☆ Et le ramassis [de peuple] qui était au milieu d'eux s'éprit de convoitise, et les fils d'Israël aussi se mirent encore à pleurer, et dirent : Qui nous fera manger de la chair ? |

We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: |

Le peuple se dispersait et la ramassait ; et ils la broyaient sous la meule ou la pilaient dans le mortier ; et ils la cuisaient dans des pots, et en faisaient des gâteaux ; et son goût était comme le goût d'un gâteau à l'huilec. |

And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it. |

Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the Lord was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased. |
Et Moïse entendit le peuple pleurant, selon ses familles, chacun à l'entrée de sa tente ; et la colère de l'Éternel s'embrasa extrêmement, et cela fut mauvais aux yeux de Moïse. |

And Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every one at the entrance of his tent; and the anger of Jehovah was kindled greatly; it was also evil in the eyes of Moses. |
Y oyó Moisés al pueblo, que lloraba por sus familias, cada uno a la puerta de su tienda; y la ira de Jehová se encendió en gran manera; también le pareció mal a Moisés. |

And Moses said unto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me? |
Et Moïse dit à l'Éternel : Pourquoi as-tu fait ce mal à ton serviteur ? et pourquoi n'ai-je pas trouvé grâce à tes yeux, que tu aies mis sur moi le fardeau de tout ce peuple ? |

And Moses said to Jehovah, Why hast thou done evil to thy servant, and why have I not found favour in thine eyes, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me? |
Y dijo Moisés a Jehová: ¿Por qué has hecho mal a tu siervo? ¿y por qué no he hallado gracia en tus ojos, que has puesto la carga de todo este pueblo sobre mí? |

Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers? |
Est-ce moi qui ai conçu tout ce peuple ? Est-ce moi qui l'ai enfanté, pour que tu me dises : Porte-le dans ton sein, comme le nourricier porte l'enfant qui tète, jusqu'au pays que tu as promis par serment à ses pères ? |

Have I conceived all this people, have I brought them forth, that thou sayest to me, Carry them in thy bosom, as the nursing-father beareth the suckling, unto the land which thou didst swear unto their fathers? |
¿Concebí yo a todo este pueblo? ¿Lo engendré yo, para que me digas: Llévalo en tu seno, como lleva la que cría al que mama, a la tierra de la cual juraste a sus padres? |

Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat. |
D'où aurais-je de la chair pour en donner à tout ce peuple ? car ils pleurent après moi, disant : Donne-nous de la chair, afin que nous en mangions. |

Et si tu agis ainsi avec moi, tue-moi donc, je te prie, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, et que je ne voie pas mon malheur. |

And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. |
Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse : Assemble-moi soixante-dix hommes des anciens d'Israël, que tu sais être les anciens du peuple et ses magistratsd, et amène-les à la tente d'assignation, et ils se tiendront là avec toi. |

And Jehovah said to Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and their officers; and take them to the tent of meeting, and they shall stand there with thee. |
Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés: Reúneme setenta varones de los ancianos de Israel, que tú sabes que son ancianos del pueblo y sus principales; y tráelos a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión, y esperen allí contigo. |

And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone. |
Et je descendrai, et je parlerai là avec toi, et j'ôterai de l'Esprit qui est sur toi, et je le mettrai sur eux, afin qu'ils portent avec toi le fardeau du peuple, et que tu ne le portes pas toi seul. |

And I will come down and talk with thee there; and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, and thou shalt not bear it alone. |
Y yo descenderé y hablaré allí contigo, y tomaré del espíritu que está en ti, y pondré en ellos; y llevarán contigo la carga del pueblo, y no la llevarás tú solo. |

And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the Lord, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the Lord will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. |
Et tu diras au peuple : Sanctifiez-vous pour demain, et vous mangerez de la chair ; car vous avez pleuré aux oreilles de l'Éternel, disant : Qui nous fera manger de la chair ? car nous étions bien en Égypte ! Et l'Éternel vous donnera de la chair, et vous en mangerez. |

And unto the people shalt thou say, Hallow yourselves for to-morrow, and ye shall eat flesh; for ye have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, Who will give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt; and Jehovah will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. |
Pero al pueblo dirás: Santificaos para mañana, y comeréis carne; porque habéis llorado en oídos de Jehová, diciendo: ¡Quién nos diera a comer carne! ¡Ciertamente mejor nos iba en Egipto! Jehová, pues, os dará carne, y comeréis. |

Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days; |
Vous n'en mangerez pas un jour, ni deux jours, ni cinq jours, ni dix jours, ni vingt jours, [mais] jusqu'à un mois entier, |

But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the Lord which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt? |
jusqu'à ce qu'elle vous sorte par les narines et que vous l'ayez en dégoût ; parce que vous avez méprisé l'Éternel qui est au milieu de vous, et que vous avez pleuré devant lui, disant : Pourquoi sommes-nous donc sortis d'Égypte ? |

And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. |
Et Moïse dit : Il y a six cent mille hommes de pied dans ce peuple au milieu duquel je suis, et tu as dit : Je leur donnerai de la chair, et ils en mangeront un mois entier. |

And Moses said, The people in whose midst I am are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou sayest, I will give them flesh that they may eat a whole month. |
Entonces dijo Moisés: Seiscientos mil de a pie es el pueblo en medio del cual yo estoy; ¡y tú dices: Les daré carne, y comerán un mes entero! |

Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them? |
Leur égorgera-t-on du menu et du gros bétail, afin qu'il y en ait assez pour eux ? ou assemblera-t-on tous les poissons de la mer pour eux, afin qu'il y en ait assez pour eux ? |

Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered for them, to suffice them? |
¿Se degollarán para ellos ovejas y bueyes que les basten? ¿o se juntarán para ellos todos los peces del mar para que tengan abasto? |

And the Lord said unto Moses, Is the Lord’s hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not. |
Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse : La main de l'Éternel est-elle devenue courte ? Tu verras maintenant si ce que j'ai dit t'arrivera ou non. |

And Jehovah said to Moses, Hath Jehovah's hand become short? Now shalt thou see whether my word will come to pass unto thee or not. |
Entonces Jehová respondió a Moisés: ¿Acaso se ha acortado la mano de Jehová? Ahora verás si se cumple mi palabra, o no. |

And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the Lord, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle. |
Et Moïse sortit, et dit au peuple les paroles de l'Éternel ; et il assembla soixante-dix hommes des anciens du peuple, et les fit se tenir tout autour de la tente. |

And Moses went out and told the people the words of Jehovah; and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tent. |
Y salió Moisés y dijo al pueblo las palabras de Jehová; y reunió a los setenta varones de los ancianos del pueblo, y los hizo estar alrededor del tabernáculo. |

And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease. |
Et l'Éternel descendit dans la nuée, et lui parla ; et il ôta de l'Esprit qui était sur lui, et le mit sur les soixante-dix anciens. Et il arriva qu'aussitôt que l'Esprit reposa sur eux, ils prophétisèrent, mais ils ne continuèrent pas. |

And Jehovah came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy men, the elders; and it came to pass, that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did not repeat it . |
Entonces Jehová descendió en la nube, y le habló; y tomó del espíritu que estaba en él, y lo puso en los setenta varones ancianos; y cuando posó sobre ellos el espíritu, profetizaron, y no cesaron. |

But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp. |
Et il était demeuré deux hommes dans le camp ; le nom de l'un était Eldad, et le nom du second, Médad ; et l'Esprit reposa sur eux ; et ils étaient de ceux qui avaient été inscrits, mais ils n'étaient pas sortis vers la tente, et ils prophétisèrent dans le camp. |

And two men remained in the camp, the name of the one, Eldad, and the name of the other, Medad; and the Spirit rested upon them (and they were among them that were written, but they had not gone out to the tent); and they prophesied in the camp. |
Y habían quedado en el campamento dos varones, llamados el uno Eldad y el otro Medad, sobre los cuales también reposó el espíritu; estaban estos entre los inscritos, pero no habían venido al tabernáculo; y profetizaron en el campamento. |

And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp. |

And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them. |
Et Josué, fils de Nun, qui servait Moïse, l'un de ses jeunes gense, répondit et dit : Mon seigneur Moïse, empêche-les. |

Entonces respondió Josué hijo de Nun, ayudante de Moisés, uno de sus jóvenes, y dijo: Señor mío Moisés, impídelos. |

And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord’s people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them! |
Et Moïse lui dit : Es-tu jaloux pour moi ? Ah ! que plutôt tout le peuple de l'Éternel fût prophète ; que l'Éternel mît son Esprit sur eux ! |

But Moses said to him, Enviest thou for my sake? would that all Jehovah's people were prophets, and that Jehovah would put his Spirit upon them! |
Y Moisés le respondió: ¿Tienes tú celos por mí? Ojalá todo el pueblo de Jehová fuese profeta, y que Jehová pusiera su espíritu sobre ellos. |

And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel. |

And there went forth a wind from the Lord, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day’s journey on this side, and as it were a day’s journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth. |
Et il se leva, de par l'Éternel, un vent qui fit venir de la merf des cailles, et les jeta sur le camp, environ une journée de chemin en deçà, et environ une journée de chemin en delà, tout autour du camp, et environ deux coudées sur la surface de la terre. |

And there went forth a wind from Jehovah, and drove quails from the sea, and cast them about the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and about a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and about two cubits above the earth. |
Y vino un viento de Jehová, y trajo codornices del mar, y las dejó sobre el campamento, un día de camino a un lado, y un día de camino al otro, alrededor del campamento, y casi dos codos sobre la faz de la tierra. |

And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. |
Et le peuple se leva tout ce jour-là, et toute la nuit, et tout le jour du lendemain, et amassa des cailles : celui qui en avait amassé le moins, en avait amassé dix khomers ; et ils les étendirent pour eux tout autour du camp. |

And the people rose up all that day, and the whole night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered little gathered ten homers; and they spread them abroad for themselves round about the camp. |
Entonces el pueblo estuvo levantado todo aquel día y toda la noche, y todo el día siguiente, y recogieron codornices; el que menos, recogió diez montones; y las tendieron para sí a lo largo alrededor del campamento. |

And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague. |
— La chair était encore entre leurs dents, avant qu'elle fût mâchée, que la colère de l'Éternel s'embrasa contre le peuple, et que l'Éternel frappa le peuple d'un fort grand coup. |

The flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, when the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against the people, and Jehovah smote the people with a very great plague. |
Aún estaba la carne entre los dientes de ellos, antes que fuese masticada, cuando la ira de Jehová se encendió en el pueblo, e hirió Jehová al pueblo con una plaga muy grande. |

And he called the name of that place Kibroth–hattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted. |

De Kibroth-Hattaava le peuple partit pour Hatséroth, et ils furent à Hatséroth. |
