Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. |

And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord! |

And why have ye brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? |
Et pourquoi avez-vous amené la congrégation de l'Éternel dans ce désert, pour y mourir, nous et nos bêtes ? |

¿Por qué hiciste venir la congregación de Jehová a este desierto, para que muramos aquí nosotros y nuestras bestias? |

And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink. |
Et pourquoi nous avez-vous fait monter d'Égypte, pour nous amener dans ce mauvais lieu ? Ce n'est pas un lieu où l'on puisse semer ; [on n'y trouve] ni figuiers, ni vignes, ni grenadiers, et il n'y a pas d'eau pour boire. |

And why have ye made us to go up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates, neither is there any water to drink. |
¿Y por qué nos has hecho subir de Egipto, para traernos a este mal lugar? No es lugar de sementera, de higueras, de viñas ni de granadas; ni aun de agua para beber. |

And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them. |
Et Moïse et Aaron vinrent de devant la congrégation à l'entrée de la tente d'assignation, et tombèrent sur leurs faces ; et la gloire de l'Éternel leur apparut. |

And Moses and Aaron went from before the congregation to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and fell upon their faces; and the glory of Jehovah appeared to them. |
Y se fueron Moisés y Aarón de delante de la congregación a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión, y se postraron sobre sus rostros; y la gloria de Jehová apareció sobre ellos. |

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, |

Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. |
Prends la verge, et réunis l'assemblée, toi et Aaron, ton frère, et vous parlerez devant leurs yeux au rocher, et il donnera ses eaux ; et tu leur feras sortir de l'eau du rocher, et tu donneras à boire à l'assemblée et à leurs bêtes. |

Take the staff, and gather the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes, and it shall give its water; and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock, and shalt give the assembly and their beasts drink. |
Toma la vara, y reúne la congregación, tú y Aarón tu hermano, y hablad a la peña a vista de ellos; y ella dará su agua, y les sacarás aguas de la peña, y darás de beber a la congregación y a sus bestias. |

And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him. |
Et Moïse prit la verge de devant l'Éternel, comme il lui avait commandé. |

Entonces Moisés tomó la vara de delante de Jehová, como él le mandó. |

And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? |
Et Moïse et Aaron réunirent la congrégation devant le rocher, et il leur dit : Écoutez, rebelles ! Vous ferons-nous sortir de l'eau de ce rocher ? |

And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said to them, Hear now, ye rebels: shall we bring forth to you water out of this rock? |
Y reunieron Moisés y Aarón a la congregación delante de la peña, y les dijo: ¡Oíd ahora, rebeldes! ¿Os hemos de hacer salir aguas de esta peña? |

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. |
Et Moïse leva sa main, et frappa le rocher de sa verge, deux fois ; et il en sortit des eaux en abondance, et l'assemblée but, et leurs bêtes. |

And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his staff smote the rock twice, and much water came out, and the assembly drank, and their beasts. |
Entonces alzó Moisés su mano y golpeó la peña con su vara dos veces; y salieron muchas aguas, y bebió la congregación, y sus bestias. |

And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. |
Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse et à Aaron : Parce que vous ne m'avez pas cru, pour me sanctifier aux yeux des fils d'Israël, à cause de cela vous n'introduirez pas cette congrégation dans le pays que je leur donne. |

And Jehovah said to Moses and to Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to hallow me before the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land that I have given them. |
Y Jehová dijo a Moisés y a Aarón: Por cuanto no creísteis en mí, para santificarme delante de los hijos de Israel, por tanto, no meteréis esta congregación en la tierra que les he dado. |

This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the Lord, and he was sanctified in them. |
Ce sont là les eaux de Meribab, où les fils d'Israël contestèrent avec l'Éternel ; et il se sanctifia en eux. |

These are the waters of Meribah, where the children of Israel contended with Jehovah, and he hallowed himself in them. |
Estas son las aguas de la rencilla,a por las cuales contendieron los hijos de Israel con Jehová, y él se santificó en ellos.b |

And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us: |
☆ Et Moïse envoya de Kadès des messagers au roi d'Édom : Ainsi dit ton frère, Israël : Tu sais toute la fatigue qui nous a atteints. |

And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, Thus says thy brother Israel: Thou knowest all the trouble that hath befallen us, |
Envió Moisés embajadores al rey de Edom desde Cades, diciendo: Así dice Israel tu hermano: Tú has sabido todo el trabajo que nos ha venido; |

How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers: |
Nos pères descendirent en Égypte, et nous avons habité en Égypte longtemps, et les Égyptiens nous ont maltraités, nous et nos pères. |

And when we cried unto the Lord, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border: |
Et nous avons crié à l'Éternel, et il a entendu notre voix, et il a envoyé un ange, et nous a fait sortir d'Égypte. Et voici, nous sommes à Kadès, ville à l'extrémité de tes limites. |

and when we cried to Jehovah, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and brought us forth out of Egypt; and behold, we are at Kadesh, a city at the extremity of thy border. |
y clamamos a Jehová, el cual oyó nuestra voz, y envió un ángel, y nos sacó de Egipto; y he aquí estamos en Cades, ciudad cercana a tus fronteras. |

Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders. |
Je te prie, que nous passions par ton pays ; nous ne passerons pas par les champs, ni par les vignes, et nous ne boirons pas de l'eau des puits ; nous marcherons par le chemin du roi, nous ne nous détournerons ni à droite ni à gauche, jusqu'à ce que nous ayons passé tes limites. |

And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword. |
Et Édom lui dit : Tu ne passeras pas chez moi, de peur que je ne sorte à ta rencontre avec l'épée. |

And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet. |
Et les fils d'Israël lui dirent : Nous monterons par le chemin battu ; et si nous buvons de tes eaux, moi et mon bétail, j'en donnerai le prix ; seulement, sans autre chose, je passerai avec mes pieds. |

And the children of Israel said to him, We will go by the high way; and if we drink of thy water, I and my cattle, then I will pay for it: I will only, without anything else, go through on my feet. |
Y los hijos de Israel dijeron: Por el camino principal iremos; y si bebiéremos tus aguas yo y mis ganados, daré el precio de ellas; déjame solamente pasar a pie, nada más. |

And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand. |
Et [Édom] dit : Tu ne passeras pas. Et Édom sortit à sa rencontre avec un grand peuple, et à main forte. |

Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him. |

And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor. |
☆ Et ils partirent de Kadès ; et les fils d'Israël, toute l'assemblée, vinrent à la montagne de Hor. |

And they removed from Kadesh; and the children of Israel, the whole assembly, came to mount Hor. |
Y partiendo de Cades los hijos de Israel, toda aquella congregación, vinieron al monte de Hor. |

And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying, |
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, dans la montagne de Hor, sur la limite du pays d'Édom, en disant : |

And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron in mount Hor, on the border of the land of Edom, saying, |
Y Jehová habló a Moisés y a Aarón en el monte de Hor, en la frontera de la tierra de Edom, diciendo: |

Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah. |
Aaron sera recueilli vers ses peuples, car il n'entrera pas dans le pays que j'ai donné aux fils d'Israël, parce que vous vous êtes rebellés contre mon commandement aux eaux de Meriba. |

Aaron shall be gathered unto his peoples; for he shall not enter into the land that I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my commandment at the waters of Meribah. |
Aarón será reunido a su pueblo, pues no entrará en la tierra que yo di a los hijos de Israel, por cuanto fuisteis rebeldes a mi mandamiento en las aguas de la rencilla. |

Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor: |
Prends Aaron et Éléazar, son fils, et fais-les monter sur la montagne de Hor ; |

And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there. |
et dépouille Aaron de ses vêtements, et fais-les revêtir à Éléazar, son fils ; et Aaron sera recueilli, et mourra là. |

And Moses did as the Lord commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. |
Et Moïse fit comme l'Éternel avait commandé ; et ils montèrent sur la montagne de Hor aux yeux de toute l'assemblée. |

And Moses did as Jehovah had commanded, and they went up mount Hor before the eyes of the whole assembly. |
Y Moisés hizo como Jehová le mandó; y subieron al monte de Hor a la vista de toda la congregación. |

And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount. |
Et Moïse dépouilla Aaron de ses vêtements, et en revêtit Éléazar, son fils ; et Aaron mourut là, au sommet de la montagne ; puis Moïse et Éléazar descendirent de la montagne. |

And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there upon the top of the mountain; and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain. |
Y Moisés desnudó a Aarón de sus vestiduras, y se las vistió a Eleazar su hijo; y Aarón murió allí en la cumbre del monte,c y Moisés y Eleazar descendieron del monte. |

And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel. |
