Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying, |

Thus saith the Lord, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live. |
Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Celui qui demeurera dans cette ville mourra par l'épée, par la famine, ou par la peste ; et celui qui sortira vers les Chaldéens vivra, et aura sa vie pour butin et vivra. |

Así ha dicho Jehová: El que se quedare en esta ciudad morirá a espada, o de hambre, o de pestilencia; mas el que se pasare a los caldeos vivirá, pues su vida le será por botín, y vivirá. |

Thus saith the Lord, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which shall take it. |
Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Cette ville sera livrée certainement en la main de l'armée du roi de Babylone, et il la prendra. |

Así ha dicho Jehová: De cierto será entregada esta ciudad en manos del ejército del rey de Babilonia, y la tomará. |

Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt. |
Et les princes dirent au roi : Qu'on fasse donc mourir cet homme ! car pourquoi rend-il lâches les mains des hommes de guerre qui sont de reste dans cette ville, et les mains de tout le peuple, en leur parlant selon ces paroles ? car cet homme ne cherche point la prospérité de ce peuple, mais le mal. |

And the princes said unto the king, Let this man, we pray thee, be put to death; for why should he weaken the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking to them according to these words? for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt. |
Y dijeron los príncipes al rey: Muera ahora este hombre; porque de esta manera hace desmayar las manos de los hombres de guerra que han quedado en esta ciudad, y las manos de todo el pueblo, hablándoles tales palabras; porque este hombre no busca la paz de este pueblo, sino el mal. |

Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you. |
Et le roi Sédécias dit : Voici, il est entre vos mains ; car le roi ne peut rien contre vous. |

Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire. |
Et ils prirent Jérémie et le jetèrent dans la fosse de Malkija, fils d'Hamméleca, laquelle était dans la cour de la prison ; et ils descendirent Jérémie avec des cordes ; et il n'y avait point d'eau dans la fosse, mais de la boue, et Jérémie enfonça dans la boue. |

Then they took Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchijah the son of Hammelech, which was in the court of the guard, and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire. |
Entonces tomaron ellos a Jeremías y lo hicieron echar en la cisterna de Malquías hijo de Hamelec, que estaba en el patio de la cárcel; y metieron a Jeremías con sogas. Y en la cisterna no había agua, sino cieno, y se hundió Jeremías en el cieno. |

Now when Ebed–melech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin; |
Et Ébed-Mélec, l'Éthiopienb, un eunuque, qui était dans la maison du roi, apprit qu'ils avaient mis Jérémie dans la fosse ; et le roi était assis dans la porte de Benjamin. |

And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, a eunuch who was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon--now the king was sitting in the gate of Benjamin, |
Y oyendo Ebed-melec, hombre etíope, eunuco de la casa real, que habían puesto a Jeremías en la cisterna, y estando sentado el rey a la puerta de Benjamín, |

Ebed–melech went forth out of the king’s house, and spake to the king, saying, |

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city. |
Ô roi, mon seigneur ! ces hommes ont mal fait dans tout ce qu'ils ont fait à Jérémie le prophète, qu'ils ont jeté dans la fosse ; il mourra là où il est, à cause de la famine, car il n'y a plus de pain dans la ville. |

My lord, O king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to the prophet Jeremiah, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he will die by reason of the famine in the place where he is; for there is no more bread in the city. |
Mi señor el rey, mal hicieron estos varones en todo lo que han hecho con el profeta Jeremías, al cual hicieron echar en la cisterna; porque allí morirá de hambre, pues no hay más pan en la ciudad. |

Then the king commanded Ebed–melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die. |
Et le roi commanda à Ébed-Mélec, l'Éthiopien, disant : Prends d'ici trente hommes sous tes ordres, et fais monter Jérémie le prophète hors de la fosse, avant qu'il meure. |

And the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die. |
Entonces mandó el rey al mismo etíope Ebed-melec, diciendo: Toma en tu poder treinta hombres de aquí, y haz sacar al profeta Jeremías de la cisterna, antes que muera. |

So Ebed–melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. |
Et Ébed-Mélec prit les hommes sous ses ordres, et alla dans la maison du roi, au-dessous du trésor. Et il prit de là de vieux lambeaux d'étoffes et de vieux haillons, et les descendit avec des cordes à Jérémie dans la fosse ; |

And Ebed-melech took the men under his order, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old shreds and worn-out clothes, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. |
Y tomó Ebed-melec en su poder a los hombres, y entró a la casa del rey debajo de la tesorería, y tomó de allí trapos viejos y ropas raídas y andrajosas, y los echó a Jeremías con sogas en la cisterna. |

And Ebed–melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so. |
et Ébed-Mélec, l'Éthiopien, dit à Jérémie : Mets ces vieux lambeaux et ces haillons sous les aisselles de tes bras, sous les cordes. Et Jérémie fit ainsi. |

And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, Put, I pray, these old shreds and rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so. |
Y dijo el etíope Ebed-melec a Jeremías: Pon ahora esos trapos viejos y ropas raídas y andrajosas, bajo los sobacos, debajo de las sogas. Y lo hizo así Jeremías. |

So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison. |
Et ils tirèrent Jérémie dehors avec les cordes, et le firent monter hors de la fosse. Et Jérémie habita dans la cour de la prison. |

Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the Lord: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me. |
Et le roi Sédécias envoya, et se fit amener Jérémie le prophète, à la troisième entrée qui était dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et le roi dit à Jérémie : Je te demanderai une chose ; ne me cache rien. |

And king Zedekiah sent and took the prophet Jeremiah unto him, into the third entry that is in the house of Jehovah; and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing: hide nothing from me. |
Después envió el rey Sedequías, e hizo traer al profeta Jeremías a su presencia, en la tercera entrada de la casa de Jehová. Y dijo el rey a Jeremías: Te haré una pregunta; no me encubras ninguna cosa. |

Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me? |
Et Jérémie dit à Sédécias : Si je te le déclare, ne me feras-tu pas mourir ? Et si je te donne un conseil, tu ne m'écouteras pas. |

And Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not certainly put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, thou wilt not hearken unto me. |
Y Jeremías dijo a Sedequías: Si te lo declarare, ¿no es verdad que me matarás? y si te diere consejo, no me escucharás. |

So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the Lord liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life. |
Et le roi Sédécias jura secrètement à Jérémie, disant : L'Éternel est vivant qui a fait notre âme : si je te fais mourir, et si je te livre en la main de ces hommes qui cherchent ta vie ! |

And king Zedekiah swore secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As Jehovah liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life. |
Y juró el rey Sedequías en secreto a Jeremías, diciendo: Vive Jehová que nos hizo esta alma, que no te mataré, ni te entregaré en mano de estos varones que buscan tu vida. |

Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon’s princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house: |
Et Jérémie dit à Sédécias : Ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu des armées, le Dieu d'Israël : Si tu sors franchement vers les princes du roi de Babylone, ton âme vivra et cette ville ne sera point brûlée par le feu, mais tu vivras, toi et ta maison. |

And Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, Thus saith Jehovah the God of hosts, the God of Israel: If thou wilt freely go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thy house. |
Entonces dijo Jeremías a Sedequías: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Si te entregas en seguida a los príncipes del rey de Babilonia, tu alma vivirá, y esta ciudad no será puesta a fuego, y vivirás tú y tu casa. |

But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand. |
Mais si tu ne sors pas vers les princes du roi de Babylone, cette ville sera livrée en la main des Chaldéens, et ils la brûleront par le feu ; et toi, tu n'échapperas pas à leur main. |

But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand. |
Pero si no te entregas a los príncipes del rey de Babilonia, esta ciudad será entregada en mano de los caldeos, y la pondrán a fuego, y tú no escaparás de sus manos. |

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me. |
Et le roi Sédécias dit à Jérémie : Je crains les Juifs qui se sont rendus aux Chaldéens ; [j'ai] peur qu'on ne me livre en leur main, et qu'ils ne me maltraitent. |

And king Zedekiah said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that have deserted to the Chaldeans, lest they give me over into their hand, and they mock me. |
Y dijo el rey Sedequías a Jeremías: Tengo temor de los judíos que se han pasado a los caldeos, no sea que me entreguen en sus manos y me escarnezcan. |

But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the Lord, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live. |
Et Jérémie dit : On ne te livrera point ; écoute, je te prie, la voix de l'Éternel dans ce que je te dis, et tout ira bien pour toi, et ton âme vivra. |

And Jeremiah said, They shall not give thee over. Hearken, I beseech thee, unto the voice of Jehovah, in that which I speak unto thee; so shall it be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live. |
Y dijo Jeremías: No te entregarán. Oye ahora la voz de Jehová que yo te hablo, y te irá bien y vivirás. |

But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the Lord hath shewed me: |
Mais si tu refuses de sortir, voici la parole que l'Éternel m'a fait voir : |

Pero si no quieres entregarte, esta es la palabra que me ha mostrado Jehová: |

And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah’s house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back. |
Voici, toutes les femmes qui sont de reste dans la maison du roi de Juda seront menées dehors vers les princes du roi de Babylone, et elles diront : Tes familiers t'ont entraîné, ils ont prévalu sur toi ; tes pieds se sont enfoncés dans le bourbier, ils ont glisséc en arrière. |

Behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes; and they shall say, Thy familiar friends have set thee on, and have prevailed over thee; thy feet are sunk in the mire, they are turned away back. |
He aquí que todas las mujeres que han quedado en casa del rey de Judá serán sacadas a los príncipes del rey de Babilonia; y ellas mismas dirán: Te han engañado, y han prevalecido contra ti tus amigos; hundieron en el cieno tus pies, se volvieron atrás. |

So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire. |
Et toutes tes femmes et tes fils, on les mènera dehors vers les Chaldéens, et toi tu n'échapperas pas à leur main ; car tu seras pris par la main du roi de Babylone, et tu feras que cette ville sera brûléed par le feu. |

Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die. |
Et Sédécias dit à Jérémie : Que personne ne sache rien de ces paroles, et tu ne mourras pas ; |

But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee: |
et si les princes entendent que j'ai parlé avec toi, et qu'ils viennent vers toi et te disent : Déclare-nous donc ce que tu as dit au roi ; ne nous le cache pas, et nous ne te ferons point mourir ; et que t'a dit le roi ? |

And if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; and what hath the king said unto thee? |
Y si los príncipes oyeren que yo he hablado contigo, y vinieren a ti y te dijeren: Decláranos ahora qué hablaste con el rey, no nos lo encubras, y no te mataremos; asimismo qué te dijo el rey; |

Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there. |
tu leur diras : J'ai présenté ma requête devant le roi, qu'on ne me fasse pas retourner dans la maison de Jonathan pour y mourir. — |

Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived. |
Et tous les princes vinrent vers Jérémie, et l'interrogèrent ; et il leur rapporta [la chose] selon toutes ces paroles que le roi avait commandées ; et ils se turent et le laissèrent, car l'affaire ne s'ébruita pas. |

--And all the princes came to Jeremiah, and asked him; and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. And they withdrew quietly from him; for the matter was not reported. |
Y vinieron luego todos los príncipes a Jeremías, y le preguntaron; y él les respondió conforme a todo lo que el rey le había mandado. Con esto se alejaron de él, porque el asunto no se había oído. |

So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken. |
Et Jérémie habita dans la cour de la prison jusqu'au jour où Jérusalem fut prise. |

And Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken. |
Y quedó Jeremías en el patio de la cárcel hasta el día que fue tomada Jerusalén; y allí estaba cuando Jerusalén fue tomada.a |
