Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon; |

By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying, |

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon; |

Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them; |

prenez des femmes et engendrez des fils et des filles, et prenez des femmes pour vos fils, et donnez vos filles à des maris, et qu'elles enfantent des fils et des filles ; et multipliez-vous là et ne diminuez pas. |

Take wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and be not diminished. |
Casaos, y engendrad hijos e hijas; dad mujeres a vuestros hijos, y dad maridos a vuestras hijas, para que tengan hijos e hijas; y multiplicaos ahí, y no os disminuyáis. |

And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. |
Et cherchez la paix de la ville où je vous ai transportés, et priez l'Éternel pour elle ; car dans sa paix sera votre paix. |

For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. |
Car ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël : Que vos prophètes qui sont au milieu de vous, et vos devins, ne vous séduisent point, et n'écoutez pas vos songes que vous vous plaisez à songerc ; |

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets that are in your midst, nor your diviners deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams, which ye like to dream. |
Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: No os engañen vuestros profetas que están entre vosotros, ni vuestros adivinos; ni atendáis a los sueños que soñáis. |

For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the Lord. |
car c'est avec mensonge qu'ils vous prophétisent en mon nom ; je ne les ai pas envoyés, dit l'Éternel. |

For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. |
Car ainsi dit l'Éternel : Lorsque soixante-dix ans seront accomplis pour Babylone, je vous visiterai, et j'accomplirai envers vous ma bonne parole, pour vous faire revenir en ce lieu. |

For thus saith Jehovah: When seventy years shall be accomplished for Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in bringing you back to this place. |
Porque así dijo Jehová: Cuando en Babilonia se cumplan los setenta años,b yo os visitaré, y despertaré sobre vosotros mi buena palabra, para haceros volver a este lugar. |

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. |
Car moi je connais les pensées que je pense à votre égard, dit l'Éternel, pensées de paix et non de mal, pour vous donner un avenir et une espérance. |

Porque yo sé los pensamientos que tengo acerca de vosotros, dice Jehová, pensamientos de paz, y no de mal, para daros el fin que esperáis. |

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. |
Et vous m'invoquerez, et vous irez, et me supplierez, et je vous écouterai ; |

Entonces me invocaréis, y vendréis y oraréis a mí, y yo os oiré; |

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. |
et vous me chercherez, et vous me trouverez, car vous me rechercherez de tout votre cœur, |

and ye shall seek me and find me, for ye shall search for me with all your heart, |
y me buscaréis y me hallaréis, porque me buscaréis de todo vuestro corazón.c |

And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. |
et je me ferai trouver à vous, dit l'Éternel ; et je rétablirai vos captifsd, et je vous rassemblerai d'entre toutes les nations et de tous les lieux où je vous aurai chassés, dit l'Éternel, et je vous ferai retourner au lieu d'où je vous ai transportés. |

and I will be found of you, saith Jehovah. And I will turn your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again into the place whence I have caused you to be carried away captive. |
Y seré hallado por vosotros, dice Jehová, y haré volver vuestra cautividad, y os reuniré de todas las naciones y de todos los lugares adonde os arrojé, dice Jehová; y os haré volver al lugar de donde os hice llevar. |

Because ye have said, The Lord hath raised us up prophets in Babylon; |
Si vous dites : L'Éternel nous a suscité des prophètes à Babylone ! |

If ye say, Jehovah hath raised us up prophets in Babylon; |
Mas habéis dicho: Jehová nos ha levantado profetas en Babilonia. |

Know that thus saith the Lord of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity; |
Oui, ainsi dit l'Éternel touchant le roi qui est assis sur le trône de David, et touchant tout le peuple qui habite dans cette ville, vos frères qui ne sont pas allés avec vous en captivité ; — |

yea, thus saith Jehovah concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity; |
Pero así ha dicho Jehová acerca del rey que está sentado sobre el trono de David, y de todo el pueblo que mora en esta ciudad, de vuestros hermanos que no salieron con vosotros en cautiverio; |

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. |
ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées : Voici, j'envoie contre eux l'épée, la famine, et la peste, et je les ferai devenir comme ces figues affreuses qu'on ne peut manger tant elles sont mauvaises. |

thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will send against them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like the vile figs, that cannot be eaten for badness. |
así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí envío yo contra ellos espada, hambre y pestilencia, y los pondré como los higos malos, que de tan malos no se pueden comer. |

And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them: |
Et je les poursuivrai avec l'épée, avec la famine, et avec la peste ; et je les livrerai pour être chassés çà et làe par tous les royaumes de la terre, — [et] à l'exécration, et à la désolation, et au sifflement, et à l'opprobre, dans toutes les nations où je les chasserai ; |

And I will pursue them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will give them over to be driven hither and thither into all the kingdoms of the earth, to be an execration, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I will drive them: |
Los perseguiré con espada, con hambre y con pestilencia, y los daré por escarnio a todos los reinos de la tierra, por maldición y por espanto, y por burla y por afrenta para todas las naciones entre las cuales los he arrojado; |

Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the Lord, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the Lord. |
parce que, dit l'Éternel, ils n'ont point écouté mes paroles quand je leur ai envoyé mes serviteurs les prophètes, me levant de bonne heure et [les] envoyant ; et vous n'avez point écouté, dit l'Éternel. |

because they have not hearkened to my words, saith Jehovah, wherewith I sent unto them my servants the prophets, rising early and sending; but ye have not hearkened, saith Jehovah. |
por cuanto no oyeron mis palabras, dice Jehová, que les envié por mis siervos los profetas, desde temprano y sin cesar; y no habéis escuchado, dice Jehová. |

Hear ye therefore the word of the Lord, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon: |
Mais vous, tous les captifsf que j'ai renvoyés de Jérusalem à Babylone, écoutez la parole de l'Éternel ! |

But ye, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon, hear the word of Jehovah. |
Oíd, pues, palabra de Jehová, vosotros todos los transportados que envié de Jerusalén a Babilonia. |

Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes; |
Ainsi dit l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël, touchant Achab, fils de Kolaïa, et touchant Sédécias, fils de Maascéïa, qui vous prophétisent le mensonge en mon nom : Voici, je les livre en la main de Nebucadretsar, roi de Babylone, et il les frappera devant vos yeux ; |

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy falsehood unto you in my name: Behold, I will give them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall smite them before your eyes. |
Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, acerca de Acab hijo de Colaías, y acerca de Sedequías hijo de Maasías, que os profetizan falsamente en mi nombre: He aquí los entrego yo en mano de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, y él los matará delante de vuestros ojos. |

And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, The Lord make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire; |
et on se servira d'eux comme d'une malédiction parmi tous les transportés de Juda qui sont à Babylone, disant : L'Éternel te rende comme Sédécias et Achab, que le roi de Babylone a grillés au feu, — |

And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah that are in Babylon, saying, Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire; |
Y todos los transportados de Judá que están en Babilonia harán de ellos una maldición, diciendo: Póngate Jehová como a Sedequías y como a Acab, a quienes asó al fuego el rey de Babilonia. |

Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the Lord. |
parce qu'ils ont commis l'infamie en Israël, et ont commis adultère avec les femmes de leur prochain, et ont dit en mon nom des paroles de mensonge que je ne leur avais pas commandées ; et moi, je le sais, et j'en suis témoin, dit l'Éternel. |

because they have committed infamy in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken words of falsehood in my name, which I had not commanded them: and I am he that knoweth, and am witness, saith Jehovah. |
Porque hicieron maldad en Israel, y cometieron adulterio con las mujeres de sus prójimos, y falsamente hablaron en mi nombre palabra que no les mandé; lo cual yo sé y testifico, dice Jehová. |

Thus shalt thou also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying, |

Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying, |
Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël, disant : Parce que tu as envoyé en ton nom des lettres à tout le peuple qui est à Jérusalem, et à Sophonie, fils de Maascéïa, le sacrificateur, et à tous les sacrificateurs, disant : |

Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying, |
Así habló Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, diciendo: Tú enviaste cartas en tu nombre a todo el pueblo que está en Jerusalén, y al sacerdote Sofonías hijo de Maasías, y a todos los sacerdotes, diciendo: |

The Lord hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the Lord, for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks. |
L'Éternel t'a établi sacrificateur à la place de Jehoïada, le sacrificateur, pour qu'il y ait des intendants dans la maison de l'Éternel pour tout homme qui fait l'inspirég et qui prophétise, afin que tu le mettes au bloc et au carcan ; |

Jehovah hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers in the house of Jehovah, over every madman and self-made prophet, that thou shouldest put him in the stocks and in the shackles. |
Jehová te ha puesto por sacerdote en lugar del sacerdote Joiada, para que te encargues en la casa de Jehová de todo hombre loco que profetice, poniéndolo en el calabozo y en el cepo. |

Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you? |
et maintenant, pourquoi n'as-tu pas repris Jérémie, l'Anathothite, qui vous prophétise ? |

For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them. |
parce qu'il a envoyé vers nous à Babylone, disant : Ce sera long ; bâtissez des maisons, et habitez-y ; plantez des jardins, et mangez-en les fruits. — |

Forasmuch as he hath sent unto us in Babylon, saying, It will be long; build houses, and dwell in them , and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them. |
Porque él nos envió a decir en Babilonia: Largo será el cautiverio; edificad casas, y habitadlas; plantad huertos, y comed el fruto de ellos. |

And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet. |

Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying, |

Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the Lord concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie: |
Mande à tous ceux de la transportation, disant : Ainsi dit l'Éternel touchant Shemahia, le Nékhélamite : Parce que Shemahia vous a prophétisé, et que moi je ne l'ai pas envoyé, et qu'il vous a fait vous confier au mensonge ; |

Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in falsehood; |
Envía a decir a todos los cautivos: Así ha dicho Jehová de Semaías de Nehelam: Porque os profetizó Semaías, y yo no lo envié, y os hizo confiar en mentira; |

Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the Lord; because he hath taught rebellion against the Lord. |
à cause de cela, ainsi dit l'Éternel : Voici, je punirai Shemahia, le Nékhélamite, et sa semence ; il n'aura pas un homme qui habite parmi ce peuple, et il ne verra point le bien que je fais à mon peuple, car il a parlé de révolte contre l'Éternel. |

therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he see the good that I will do for my people, saith Jehovah; because he hath spoken revolt against Jehovah. |
por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que yo castigaré a Semaías de Nehelam y a su descendencia; no tendrá varón que more entre este pueblo, ni verá el bien que haré yo a mi pueblo, dice Jehová; porque contra Jehová ha hablado rebelión. |
