And Moses told the words of the people unto the Lord. | Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse : Voici, je viendrai à toi dans l'obscurité d'une nuée, afin que le peuple entende quand je parlerai avec toi, et qu'aussi ils te croient à toujours. Et Moïse rapporta à l'Éternel les paroles du peuple. | And Jehovah said to Moses, Lo, I will come to thee in the cloud's thick darkness, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee also for ever. | 11 | And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai. | et qu'ils soient prêts pour le troisième jour ; car le troisième jour l'Éternel descendra, aux yeux de tout le peuple, sur la montagne de Sinaï. | and let them be ready for the third day; for on the third day Jehovah will come down before the eyes of all the people on mount Sinai. | y estén preparados para el día tercero, porque al tercer día Jehová descenderá a ojos de todo el pueblo sobre el monte de Sinaí. | |
| 12 | And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death: | Et tu mettras des bornes pour le peuple, à l'entour, disant : Donnez-vous garde de monter sur la montagne et d'en toucher l'extrémité. Quiconque touchera la montagne sera certainement mis à mort : | And set bounds round about the people, saying, Take heed to yourselves, not to go up unto the mountain nor touch the border of it: whatever toucheth the mountain shall certainly be put to death: | Y señalarás término al pueblo en derredor, diciendo: Guardaos, no subáis al monte, ni toquéis sus límites; cualquiera que tocare el monte, de seguro morirá. | |
| 13 | There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount. | la main ne la touchera pas sans qu'elle soit lapidée ou transpercée ; bête, ou homme, ils ne vivront point. | 21 | And the Lord said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the Lord to gaze, and many of them perish. | Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse : Descends, avertis solennellement le peuple, de peur qu'ils ne rompent les barrières pour monterd vers l'Éternel pour voir, et qu'un grand nombre d'entre eux ne tombe. | And Jehovah said to Moses, Go down, testify to the people that they break not through to Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish. | Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: Desciende, ordena al pueblo que no traspase los límites para ver a Jehová, porque caerá multitud de ellos. | |
| 22 | And let the priests also, which come near to the Lord, sanctify themselves, lest the Lord break forth upon them. | Et aussi, que les sacrificateurs qui s'approchent de l'Éternel se sanctifient, de peur que l'Éternel ne se jette sur euxe. | And the priests also, who come near to Jehovah, shall hallow themselves, lest Jehovah break forth on them. | Y también que se santifiquen los sacerdotes que se acercan a Jehová, para que Jehová no haga en ellos estrago. | |
| 23 | And Moses said unto the Lord, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it. | Et Moïse dit à l'Éternel : Le peuple ne pourra pas monter sur la montagne de Sinaï, car tu nous as solennellement avertis, en disant : Mets des bornes autour de la montagne, et sanctifie-la. | And Moses said to Jehovah, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for thou hast testified to us, saying, Set bounds about the mountain, and hallow it. | Moisés dijo a Jehová: El pueblo no podrá subir al monte Sinaí, porque tú nos has mandado diciendo: Señala límites al monte, y santifícalo. | |
| 24 | And the Lord said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the Lord, lest he break forth upon them. | Et l'Éternel lui dit : Va, descends ; puis tu monteras, toi, et Aaron avec toi ; mais que les sacrificateurs et le peuple ne rompent point les barrières pour monterd vers l'Éternel, de peur qu'il ne se jette sur euxe. | And Jehovah said to him, Go, descend, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee; but the priests and the people shall not break through to go up to Jehovah, lest he break forth on them. | Y Jehová le dijo: Ve, desciende, y subirás tú, y Aarón contigo; mas los sacerdotes y el pueblo no traspasen el límite para subir a Jehová, no sea que haga en ellos estrago. | |
