2	And David sent forth a third part of the people under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people, I will surely go forth with you myself also.	Et David envoya le peuple, un tiers sous la main de Joab, et un tiers sous la main d'Abishaï, fils de Tseruïa [et] frère de Joab, et un tiers sous la main d'Itthaï, le Guitthien. Et le roi dit au peuple : Certainement je sortirai moi aussi avec vous. 3	But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou succour us out of the city.	Mais le peuple dit : Tu ne sortiras point ; car quand nous viendrions à fuir, ils ne prendraient pas garde à nous, et quand la moitié d'entre nous mourrait, ils ne prendraient pas garde à nous ; car toia, tu es comme dix mille d'entre nous ; et maintenant il est bon que, de la ville, tu nous sois en secours.	But the people said, Thou shalt not go forth, for if we should in any case flee, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us; for thou art worth ten thousand of us; and now it is better that thou succour us out of the city. 4	And the king said unto them, What seemeth you best I will do. And the king stood by the gate side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands.	Et le roi leur dit : Je ferai ce qui est bon à vos yeux. Et le roi se tint à côté de la porte, et tout le peuple sortit par centaines et par milliers.	And the king said to them, I will do what is good in your sight. And the king stood by the gate-side, and all the people came out by hundreds and by thousands.	Entonces el rey les dijo: Yo haré lo que bien os parezca. Y se puso el rey a la entrada de la puerta, mientras salía todo el pueblo de ciento en ciento y de mil en mil.
5	And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.	Et le roi commanda à Joab, et à Abishaï, et à Itthaï, disant : Usez-moi de douceur envers le jeune homme, Absalom. Et tout le peuple entendit lorsque le roi donna ses ordresb à tous les chefs touchant Absalom.	And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Deal gently for my sake with the young man Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.	Y el rey mandó a Joab, a Abisai y a Itai, diciendo: Tratad benignamente por amor de mí al joven Absalón. Y todo el pueblo oyó cuando dio el rey orden acerca de Absalón a todos los capitanes.
6	So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the wood of Ephraim;	Et le peuple sortit dans la campagne à la rencontre d'Israël ; et la bataille eut lieu dans la forêt d'Éphraïm.	And the people went out into the field against Israel; and the battle was in the forest of Ephraim.	Salió, pues, el pueblo al campo contra Israel, y se libró la batalla en el bosque de Efraín.
7	Where the people of Israel were slain before the servants of David, and there was there a great slaughter that day of twenty thousand men.	Et le peuple d'Israël fut battu là par les serviteurs de David ; et le carnage fut grand ce jour-là,… vingt mille hommes.	And the people of Israel were routed before the servants of David, and there was a great slaughter there that day: twenty thousand men.	Y allí cayó el pueblo de Israel delante de los siervos de David, y se hizo allí en aquel día una gran matanza de veinte mil hombres.
8	For the battle was there scattered over the face of all the country: and the wood devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.	Et la bataille s'étendit là sur toute la surface du pays, et la forêt dévora en ce jour plus de peuple que n'en dévora l'épée. 9	And Absalom met the servants of David. And Absalom rode upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away.	Et Absalom se trouva en présence des serviteurs de David, et Absalom montait un mulet ; et le mulet entra sous les branches entrelacées d'un grand térébinthe ; et la tête d'Absalomc se prit dans le térébinthe, et il demeura suspendud entre le ciel et la terre ; et le mulet qui était sous lui passa outre.	And Absalom found himself in the presence of David's servants. And Absalom was riding upon a mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of the great terebinth, and his head caught in the terebinth, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away. 10	And a certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanged in an oak.	Et un homme vit cela, et le rapporta à Joab, et dit : Voici, j'ai vu Absalom suspendu à un térébinthe.	And a man saw it, and told Joab, and said, Behold, I saw Absalom hanging in a terebinth.	Viéndolo uno, avisó a Joab, diciendo: He aquí que he visto a Absalón colgado de una encina.
11	And Joab said unto the man that told him, And, behold, thou sawest him, and why didst thou not smite him there to the ground? and I would have given thee ten shekels of silver, and a girdle.	Et Joab dit à l'homme qui le lui rapportait : Et voici, tu l'as vu, et pourquoi ne l'as-tu pas abattu là par terre ? Et c'eût été à moi de te donner dix [pièces] d'argent et une ceinture.	And Joab said to the man that told him, And behold, thou sawest him , and why didst thou not smite him there to the ground? and I would have given thee ten silver pieces and a girdle.	Y Joab respondió al hombre que le daba la nueva: Y viéndolo tú, ¿por qué no le mataste luego allí echándole a tierra? Me hubiera placido darte diez siclos de plata, y un talabarte.
12	And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king’s son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.	Et l'homme dit à Joab : Et quand je pèserais dans ma main mille [pièces] d'argent, je n'étendrais pas ma main sur le fils du roi ; car à nos oreilles le roi t'a commandé, à toi, et à Abishaï, et à Itthaï, disant : Prenez garde, qui [de vous] que ce soit, au jeune homme Absalom ; …	And the man said to Joab, Though I should receive a thousand silver pieces in my hand, yet would I not put forth my hand against the king's son; for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Take care, whoever it be of you , of the young man Absalom.	El hombre dijo a Joab: Aunque me pesaras mil siclos de plata, no extendería yo mi mano contra el hijo del rey; porque nosotros oímos cuando el rey te mandó a ti y a Abisai y a Itai, diciendo: Mirad que ninguno toque al joven Absalón.
13	Otherwise I should have wrought falsehood against mine own life: for there is no matter hid from the king, and thou thyself wouldest have set thyself against me.	ou j'eusse agi perfidement contre ma vie, car riene n'est caché au roi, et toi, tu aurais pris parti contre moi.	Or I should have acted falsely against mine own life, for there is no matter concealed from the king, and thou wouldest have set thyself against me .	Por otra parte, habría yo hecho traición contra mi vida, pues que al rey nada se le esconde, y tú mismo estarías en contra.
14	Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.	Et Joab dit : Je ne m'attarderai pas ainsi devant toi. Et il prit trois javelots dans sa main, et les enfonça dans le cœur d'Absalom, alors qu'il était encore vivant au milieu du térébinthe.	Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three spears in his hand, and thrust them into Absalom's body, while he was yet alive in the midst of the terebinth.	Y respondió Joab: No malgastaré mi tiempo contigo. Y tomando tres dardos en su mano, los clavó en el corazón de Absalón, quien estaba aún vivo en medio de la encina.
15	And ten young men that bare Joab’s armour compassed about and smote Absalom, and slew him.	Et dix jeunes hommes qui portaient les armes de Joab entourèrent et frappèrent Absalom, et le mirent à mort.	And ten young men that bore Joab's armour surrounded and smote Absalom, and killed him.	Y diez jóvenes escuderos de Joab rodearon e hirieron a Absalón, y acabaron de matarle.
16	And Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel: for Joab held back the people.	Et Joab sonna de la trompette, et le peuple revint de la poursuite d'Israël, car Joab retint le peuple.	And Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel; for Joab kept back the people.	Entonces Joab tocó la trompeta, y el pueblo se volvió de seguir a Israel, porque Joab detuvo al pueblo.
17	And they took Absalom, and cast him into a great pit in the wood, and laid a very great heap of stones upon him: and all Israel fled every one to his tent.	Et ils prirent Absalom et le jetèrent dans la forêt, dans une grande fosse, et élevèrent sur lui un très-grand monceau de pierres. Et tout Israël s'enfuit, chacun à sa tente.	And they took Absalom, and cast him into a great pit in the wood, and raised a very great heap of stones upon him. And all Israel fled every one to his tent.	Tomando después a Absalón, le echaron en un gran hoyo en el bosque, y levantaron sobre él un montón muy grande de piedras; y todo Israel huyó, cada uno a su tienda.
18	Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a pillar, which is in the king’s dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance: and he called the pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day, Absalom’s place.	Et Absalom avait pris et dressé pour lui, de son vivant, une stèle qui est dans la vallée du Roi ; car il disait : Je n'ai pas de fils pour rappeler la mémoire de mon nom. Et il appela la stèle de son nom ; et elle est appelée jusqu'à ce jour le monument d'Absalom.	Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a monument, which is in the king's dale; for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance; and he called the monument after his own name; and it is called unto this day, Absalom's memorial.	Y en vida, Absalón había tomado y erigido una columna, la cual está en el valle del rey; porque había dicho: Yo no tengo hijo que conserve la memoria de mi nombre. Y llamó aquella columna por su nombre, y así se ha llamado Columna de Absalón, hasta hoy.
19	Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the Lord hath avenged him of his enemies.	Et Akhimaats, fils de Tsadok, dit : Laisse-moi courir et porter au roi la nouvelle que l'Éternel lui a fait justice de la main de ses ennemis.	And Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said, Let me run, I pray, and carry the king the news that Jehovah has avenged him of his enemies.	Entonces Ahimaas hijo de Sadoc dijo: ¿Correré ahora, y daré al rey las nuevas de que Jehová ha defendido su causa de la mano de sus enemigos?
20	And Joab said unto him, Thou shalt not bear tidings this day, but thou shalt bear tidings another day: but this day thou shalt bear no tidings, because the king’s son is dead.	Et Joab lui dit : Tu ne seras pas l'homme qui porteras les nouvelles aujourd'hui, mais tu porteras les nouvelles un autre jour ; aujourd'hui tu ne porteras pas les nouvelles, puisque le fils du roi est mort.	And Joab said to him, Thou shalt not be a bearer of news to-day, but thou shalt carry the news another day; but to-day thou shalt carry no news, because the king's son is dead.	Respondió Joab: Hoy no llevarás las nuevas; las llevarás otro día; no darás hoy la nueva, porque el hijo del rey ha muerto.
21	Then said Joab to Cushi, Go tell the king what thou hast seen. And Cushi bowed himself unto Joab, and ran.	Et Joab dit au Cushitef : Va, rapporte au roi ce que tu as vu. Et le Cushite se prosterna devant Joab, et courut.	Then said Joab to the Cushite, Go, tell the king what thou hast seen. And the Cushite bowed himself to Joab, and ran.	Y Joab dijo a un etíope: Ve tú, y di al rey lo que has visto. Y el etíope hizo reverencia ante Joab, y corrió.
22	Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready?	Et Akhimaats, le fils de Tsadok, dit encore une fois à Joab : Quoi qu'il arrive, que je coure, moi aussi, je te prie, après le Cushite. Et Joab dit : Pourquoi veux-tu courir, mon fils, puisque tu n'as pas des nouvelles opportunes ?	And Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said yet again to Joab, Come what may, let me, I pray thee, also run after the Cushite. And Joab said, Why wilt thou run, my son, seeing that there is no news suited to thee ?	Entonces Ahimaas hijo de Sadoc volvió a decir a Joab: Sea como fuere, yo correré ahora tras el etíope. Y Joab dijo: Hijo mío, ¿para qué has de correr tú, si no recibirás premio por las nuevas?
23	But howsoever, said he, let me run. And he said unto him, Run. Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and overran Cushi.	— Et quoi qu'il arrive, je veux courir. Et [Joab] lui dit : Cours ! Et Akhimaats courut par le chemin de la plaine, et dépassa le Cushite.	--But, come what may, let me run. And he said to him, Run. And Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and outstripped the Cushite.	Mas él respondió: Sea como fuere, yo correré. Entonces le dijo: Corre. Corrió, pues, Ahimaas por el camino de la llanura, y pasó delante del etíope.
24	And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.	Et David était assis entre les deux portes ; et la sentinelle alla sur le toit de la porte, sur la muraille, et elle leva les yeux, et regarda, et voici un homme qui courait seul.	And David sat between the two gates; and the watchman went up to the roof of the gate, on to the wall, and lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man running alone.	Y David estaba sentado entre las dos puertas; y el atalaya había ido al terrado sobre la puerta en el muro, y alzando sus ojos, miró, y vio a uno que corría solo.
25	And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If he be alone, there is tidings in his mouth. And he came apace, and drew near.	Et la sentinelle cria et le rapporta au roi ; et le roi dit : S'il est seul, il y a des nouvelles dans sa bouche. Et [l'homme] allait toujours, et approchait.	And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If he be alone, there is news in his mouth. And he came on and drew near.	El atalaya dio luego voces, y lo hizo saber al rey. Y el rey dijo: Si viene solo, buenas nuevas trae. En tanto que él venía acercándose,
26	And the watchman saw another man running: and the watchman called unto the porter, and said, Behold another man running alone. And the king said, He also bringeth tidings.	Et la sentinelle vit un autre homme qui courait, et la sentinelle cria au portier et dit : Voici, un homme qui court seul. Et le roi dit : Celui-ci aussi apporte des nouvelles.	And the watchman saw another man running; and the watchman called to the porter and said, Behold a man running alone. And the king said, He also is a bearer of news.	vio el atalaya a otro que corría; y dio voces el atalaya al portero, diciendo: He aquí otro hombre que corre solo. Y el rey dijo: Este también es mensajero.
27	And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings.	Et la sentinelle dit : Je vois le premier courir comme court Akhimaats, fils de Tsadok. Et le roi dit : C'est un homme de bien, il vient avec de bonnes nouvelles.	And the watchman said, I see the running of the foremost like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man; and comes with good news.	Y el atalaya volvió a decir: Me parece el correr del primero como el correr de Ahimaas hijo de Sadoc. Y respondió el rey: Ese es hombre de bien, y viene con buenas nuevas.
28	And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the Lord thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.	Et Akhimaats cria, et dit au roi : Paix ! Et il se prosterna devant le roi, le visage contre terre, et dit : Béni soit l'Éternel, ton Dieu, qui a livré les hommes qui avaient levé leurs mains contre le roi, mon seigneur !	And Ahimaaz called and said to the king, Peace! And he fell down to the earth on his face before the king, and said, Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who has delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.	Entonces Ahimaas dijo en alta voz al rey: Paz. Y se inclinó a tierra delante del rey, y dijo: Bendito sea Jehová Dios tuyo, que ha entregado a los hombres que habían levantado sus manos contra mi señor el rey.
29	And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king’s servant, and me thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what it was.	Et le roi dit : Y a-t-il paix pour le jeune homme Absalom ? Akhimaats dit : J'ai vu un grand tumulte lorsque Joab envoya le serviteur du roi et ton serviteur ; et je ne sais ce qu'il y avait.	And the king said, Is it well with the young man Absalom? And Ahimaaz said, I saw a great tumult when Joab sent the king's servant, and me thy servant; but I knew not what it was.	Y el rey dijo: ¿El joven Absalón está bien? Y Ahimaas respondió: Vi yo un gran alboroto cuando envió Joab al siervo del rey y a mí tu siervo; mas no sé qué era.
30	And the king said unto him, Turn aside, and stand here. And he turned aside, and stood still.	Et le roi dit : Tourne-toi, et tiens-toi là. Et il se tourna, et se tint là.	And the king said, Turn aside and stand here. And he turned aside and stood still.	Y el rey dijo: Pasa, y ponte allí. Y él pasó, y se quedó de pie.
31	And, behold, Cushi came; and Cushi said, Tidings, my lord the king: for the Lord hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.	Et voici, le Cushite arriva, et le Cushite dit : Que le roi, mon seigneur, reçoive une bonne nouvelle, car l'Éternel t'a aujourd'hui fait justice de la main de tous ceux qui s'étaient levés contre toi.	And behold, the Cushite came; and the Cushite said, Let my lord the king receive good tidings, for Jehovah has avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.	Luego vino el etíope, y dijo: Reciba nuevas mi señor el rey, que hoy Jehová ha defendido tu causa de la mano de todos los que se habían levantado contra ti.
32	And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is.	Et le roi dit au Cushite : Y a-t-il paix pour le jeune homme Absalom ? Et le Cushite dit : Que les ennemis du roi, mon seigneur, et tous ceux qui se sont levés contre toi pour le mal, soient comme ce jeune homme !	And the king said to the Cushite, Is it well with the young man Absalom? And the Cushite said, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee for evil, be as that young man.	El rey entonces dijo al etíope: ¿El joven Absalón está bien? Y el etíope respondió: Como aquel joven sean los enemigos de mi señor el rey, y todos los que se levanten contra ti para mal.
33	And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!	Et le roi fut très-ému, et il monta à la chambre au-dessus de la porte et pleura ; et en allant, il disait ainsi : Mon fils Absalom ! mon fils ! mon fils Absalom ! Fussé-je mort à ta place ! Absalom, mon fils, mon fils !	And the king was much moved, and went up to the upper chamber of the gate, and wept; and as he went, he said thus: O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died in thy stead, O Absalom, my son, my son!	Entonces el rey se turbó, y subió a la sala de la puerta, y lloró; y yendo, decía así: ¡Hijo mío Absalón, hijo mío, hijo mío Absalón! ¡Quién me diera que muriera yo en lugar de ti, Absalón, hijo mío, hijo mío!
