1	And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and pitched beside Eben–ezer: and the Philistines pitched in Aphek.	☆ Et ce que Samuel avait dit arriva à tout Israël. Et Israël sortit en bataille à la rencontre des Philistins, et ils campèrent près d'Ében-Ézera ; et les Philistins campèrent à Aphek.	And what Samuel had said happened to all Israel. And Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and encamped beside Eben-ezer; and the Philistines encamped in Aphek.	Y Samuel habló a todo Israel. Por aquel tiempo salió Israel a encontrar en batalla a los filisteos, y acampó junto a Eben-ezer, y los filisteos acamparon en Afec.
2	And the Philistines put themselves in array against Israel: and when they joined battle, Israel was smitten before the Philistines: and they slew of the army in the field about four thousand men.	Et les Philistins se rangèrent en bataille contre Israël ; et la bataille devint générale, et Israël fut battu devant les Philistins ; et ils frappèrent environ quatre mille hommes en bataille rangée, dans la campagne.	And the Philistines put themselves in array against Israel; and the battle spread, and Israel was routed before the Philistines; and they slew in battle array in the field about four thousand men.	Y los filisteos presentaron la batalla a Israel; y trabándose el combate, Israel fue vencido delante de los filisteos, los cuales hirieron en la batalla en el campo como a cuatro mil hombres.
3	And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.	Et le peuple rentra dans le camp, et les anciens d'Israël dirent : Pourquoi l'Éternel nous a-t-il battus aujourd'hui devant les Philistins ? Prenons à nous, de Silo, l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel, et qu'elle vienne au milieu de nous et nous sauve de la main de nos ennemis.	And the people came into the camp; and the elders of Israel said, Why has Jehovah smitten us to-day before the Philistines? Let us fetch ourselves the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of Shiloh, that it may come among us, and save us out of the hand of our enemies.	Cuando volvió el pueblo al campamento, los ancianos de Israel dijeron: ¿Por qué nos ha herido hoy Jehová delante de los filisteos? Traigamos a nosotros de Silo el arca del pacto de Jehová, para que viniendo entre nosotros nos salve de la mano de nuestros enemigos.
4	So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.	Et le peuple envoya à Silo, et on apporta de là l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel des armées, qui siège entre les chérubinsb ; et les deux fils d'Éli, Hophni et Phinées, étaient là avec l'arche de l'alliance de Dieu.	So the people sent to Shiloh, and they brought from thence the ark of the covenant of Jehovah of hosts, who sitteth between the cherubim; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there by the ark of the covenant of God.	Y envió el pueblo a Silo, y trajeron de allá el arca del pacto de Jehová de los ejércitos, que moraba entre los querubines;a y los dos hijos de Elí, Ofni y Finees, estaban allí con el arca del pacto de Dios.
5	And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again.	Et aussitôt que l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel entra dans le camp, tout Israël se mit à pousser de grands cris, de sorte que la terre en frémit.	And it came to pass when the ark of the covenant of Jehovah came into the camp, that all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth shook.	Aconteció que cuando el arca del pacto de Jehová llegó al campamento, todo Israel gritó con tan gran júbilo que la tierra tembló.
6	And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What meaneth the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of the Lord was come into the camp.	Et les Philistins entendirent le bruit des cris, et dirent : Quel est ce bruit de grands cris dans le camp des Hébreux ? Et ils surent que l'arche de l'Éternel était venue dans le camp.	And the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, and said, What is the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews? And they understood that the ark of Jehovah had come into the camp.	Cuando los filisteos oyeron la voz de júbilo, dijeron: ¿Qué voz de gran júbilo es esta en el campamento de los hebreos? Y supieron que el arca de Jehová había sido traída al campamento.
7	And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.	Et les Philistins craignirent, car ils dirent : Dieu est venu dans le camp. Et ils dirent : Malheur à nous ! car il n'en a jamais été ainsi auparavant.	And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they said, Woe unto us! for there has not been such a thing heretofore.	Y los filisteos tuvieron miedo, porque decían: Ha venido Dios al campamento. Y dijeron: ¡Ay de nosotros! pues antes de ahora no fue así.
8	Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.	Malheur à nous ! Qui nous délivrera de la main de ces dieux puissants ? Ce sont là les dieux qui ont frappé les Égyptiens de toutes sortes de plaies dans le désert.	Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty gods? these are the gods that smote the Egyptians with every plague in the wilderness.	¡Ay de nosotros! ¿Quién nos librará de la mano de estos dioses poderosos? Estos son los dioses que hirieron a Egipto con toda plaga en el desierto.
9	Be strong, and quit yourselves like men, O ye Philistines, that ye be not servants unto the Hebrews, as they have been to you: quit yourselves like men, and fight.	Philistins, fortifiez-vous et soyez hommes, de peur que vous ne soyez asservis aux Hébreux, comme ils vous ont été asservis ! Soyez hommes, et combattez !	Shew yourselves valiant and be men, ye Philistines, that ye may not have to be servants to the Hebrews, as they have been servants to you: be men, and fight.	Esforzaos, oh filisteos, y sed hombres, para que no sirváis a los hebreos, como ellos os han servido a vosotros; sed hombres, y pelead.
10	And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.	Et les Philistins combattirent, et Israël fut battu ; et ils s'enfuirent chacun à sa tente ; et la défaite fut très-grande, et il tomba d'Israël trente mille hommes de pied.	And the Philistines fought, and Israel was routed, and they fled every man to his tent; and there was a very great slaughter, and there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.	Pelearon, pues, los filisteos, e Israel fue vencido, y huyeron cada cual a sus tiendas; y fue hecha muy grande mortandad, pues cayeron de Israel treinta mil hombres de a pie.
11	And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.	Et l'arche de Dieu fut prise, et les deux fils d'Éli, Hophni et Phinées, moururent.	And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.	Y el arca de Dios fue tomada, y muertos los dos hijos de Elí, Ofni y Finees.
12	And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head.	Et un homme de Benjamin courut de la bataille, et vint à Silo ce même jour, ayant ses vêtements déchirés, et de la terre sur sa tête. 13	And when he came, lo, Eli sat upon a seat by the wayside watching: for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city, and told it, all the city cried out.	Et il entra, et voici, Éli était assis sur un siège, aux aguets, à côté du chemin ; car son cœur tremblait pour l'arche de Dieu. Et l'homme entra pour annoncer dans la ville [ce qui était arrivé] ; et toute la ville jeta des cris.	And when he came, behold, Eli was sitting upon the seat by the way-side watching; for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And the man came to tell it in the city, and all the city cried out.	y cuando llegó, he aquí que Elí estaba sentado en una silla vigilando junto al camino, porque su corazón estaba temblando por causa del arca de Dios. 14	And when Eli heard the noise of the crying, he said, What meaneth the noise of this tumult? And the man came in hastily, and told Eli.	Et Éli entendit le bruit des cris, et dit : Qu'est-ce que ce bruit de tumulte ? Et l'homme vint en hâte et informa Éli.	And Eli heard the noise of the crying, and said, What is the noise of this tumult? And the man came hastily, and told Eli.	Cuando Elí oyó el estruendo de la gritería, dijo: ¿Qué estruendo de alboroto es este? Y aquel hombre vino aprisa y dio las nuevas a Elí.
15	Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see.	Or Éli était âgé de quatre-vingt-dix-huit ans, et il avait les yeux fixes et il ne pouvait voir.	Now Eli was ninety-eight years old; and his eyes were set, that he could not see.	Era ya Elí de edad de noventa y ocho años, y sus ojos se habían oscurecido, de modo que no podía ver.
16	And the man said unto Eli, I am he that came out of the army, and I fled to day out of the army. And he said, What is there done, my son?	Et l'homme dit à Éli : Je viens de la bataille, et je me suis enfui de la bataille aujourd'hui. Et [Éli] dit : Qu'est-il arrivé, mon fils ?	And the man said to Eli, I am he that came out of the battle, and I have fled to-day out of the battle. And he said, What has taken place, my son?	Dijo, pues, aquel hombre a Elí: Yo vengo de la batalla, he escapado hoy del combate. Y Elí dijo: ¿Qué ha acontecido, hijo mío?
17	And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.	Et celui qui portait le message répondit et dit : Israël a fui devant les Philistins, et même il y a eu une grande défaite du peuple, et aussi tes deux fils, Hophni et Phinées, sont morts, et l'arche de Dieu est prise.	And the messenger answered and said, Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.	Y el mensajero respondió diciendo: Israel huyó delante de los filisteos, y también fue hecha gran mortandad en el pueblo; y también tus dos hijos, Ofni y Finees, fueron muertos, y el arca de Dios ha sido tomada.
18	And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.	Et il arriva que, lorsqu'il mentionna l'arche de Dieu, [Éli] tomba à la renverse de dessus son siège, à côté de la porte, et se brisa la nuque et mourut ; car c'était un homme âgé et pesant.c Et il avait jugé Israël quarante ans.	And it came to pass, when he mentioned the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck broke, and he died; for the man was old, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.	Y aconteció que cuando él hizo mención del arca de Dios, Elí cayó hacia atrás de la silla al lado de la puerta, y se desnucó y murió; porque era hombre viejo y pesado. Y había juzgado a Israel cuarenta años.
19	And his daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.	Et sa belle-fille, femme de Phinées, était enceinte, près d'accoucher ; et elle entendit la nouvelle que l'arche de Dieu était prise, et que son beau-père et son mari étaient morts, et elle se courba et enfanta, car les douleurs la surprirent.	And his daughter-in-law, Phinehas' wife, was with child, near to be delivered; and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.	Y su nuera la mujer de Finees, que estaba encinta, cercana al alumbramiento, oyendo el rumor que el arca de Dios había sido tomada, y muertos su suegro y su marido, se inclinó y dio a luz; porque le sobrevinieron sus dolores de repente.
20	And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.	Et comme elle se mourait, celles qui se tenaient auprès d'elle [lui] dirent : Ne crains point, car tu as enfanté un fils. Et elle ne répondit pas et n'y fit pas attention ;	And as she was dying, the women that stood by her said, Fear not; for thou hast borne a son. But she did not answer, neither did she take it to heart.	Y al tiempo que moría, le decían las que estaban junto a ella: No tengas temor, porque has dado a luz un hijo. Mas ella no respondió, ni se dio por entendida.
21	And she named the child I–chabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.	et elle appela l'enfant I-Cabodd, disant : La gloire s'en est allée d'Israël ; — parce que l'arche de Dieu était prise, et à cause de son beau-père et de son mari.	And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel; because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father-in-law and her husband.	Y llamó al niño Icabod,b diciendo: ¡Traspasada es la gloria de Israel! por haber sido tomada el arca de Dios, y por la muerte de su suegro y de su marido.
22	And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.	Et elle dit : La gloire s'en est allée d'Israël, car l'arche de Dieu est prise.	And she said, The glory is departed from Israel, for the ark of God is taken.	Dijo, pues: Traspasada es la gloria de Israel; porque ha sido tomada el arca de Dios.
