And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth–lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. |
☆ Et l'Éternel dit à Samuel : Jusques à quand mèneras-tu deuil sur Saül, vu que moi je l'ai rejeté pour qu'il ne soit pas roi sur Israël ? Remplis ta corne d'huile, et va : je t'enverrai vers Isaï, le Bethléhémite ; car j'ai vu parmi ses fils un roi pour moi. |

And Jehovah said to Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons. |
Dijo Jehová a Samuel: ¿Hasta cuándo llorarás a Saúl, habiéndolo yo desechado para que no reine sobre Israel? Llena tu cuerno de aceite, y ven, te enviaré a Isaí de Belén, porque de sus hijos me he provisto de rey. |

And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the Lord said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the Lord. |
Et Samuel dit : Comment irai-je ? Dès que Saül l'entendra, il me tuera. Et l'Éternel dit : Tu prendras avec toi une génissea, et tu diras : Je suis venu pour sacrifier à l'Éternel. |

And Samuel said, How shall I go? if Saul hear it , he will kill me. And Jehovah said, Take a heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to Jehovah. |
Y dijo Samuel: ¿Cómo iré? Si Saúl lo supiera, me mataría. Jehová respondió: Toma contigo una becerra de la vacada, y di: A ofrecer sacrificio a Jehová he venido. |

And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee. |
Et tu appelleras Isaï au sacrifice, et moi je te ferai savoir ce que tu auras à faire, et tu oindras pour moi celui que je te dirai. |

And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will tell thee what thou shalt do; and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee. |
Y llama a Isaí al sacrificio, y yo te enseñaré lo que has de hacer; y me ungirás al que yo te dijere. |

And Samuel did that which the Lord spake, and came to Beth–lehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably? |
Et Samuel fit ce que l'Éternel avait dit, et vint à Bethléhem ; et les anciens de la ville allèrent tremblants à sa rencontre, et dirent : Ta venue est-elle la paix ? |

And Samuel did what Jehovah said, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the city came trembling to meet him, and said, Dost thou come peaceably? |
Hizo, pues, Samuel como le dijo Jehová; y luego que él llegó a Belén, los ancianos de la ciudad salieron a recibirle con miedo, y dijeron: ¿Es pacífica tu venida? |

And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the Lord: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice. |
Et il dit : La paix. Je suis venu pour sacrifier à l'Éternel ; sanctifiez-vous, et venez avec moi au sacrifice. Et il sanctifia Isaï et ses fils, et les appela au sacrifice. |

And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice to Jehovah. Hallow yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he hallowed Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice. |
Él respondió: Sí, vengo a ofrecer sacrificio a Jehová; santificaos, y venid conmigo al sacrificio. Y santificando él a Isaí y a sus hijos, los llamó al sacrificio. |

And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord’s anointed is before him. |
Et il arriva que, comme ils entraient, il vit Éliab, et il dit : Certainement l'oint de l'Éternel est devant lui. |

And it came to pass when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely Jehovah's anointed is before him. |
Y aconteció que cuando ellos vinieron, él vio a Eliab, y dijo: De cierto delante de Jehová está su ungido. |

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. |
Et l'Éternel dit à Samuel : Ne regarde pas son apparence, ni la hauteur de sa taille, car je l'ai rejeté ; car [l'Éternel ne regarde] pas ce à quoi l'homme regarde, car l'homme regarde à l'apparence extérieure, et l'Éternel regarde au cœur. |

But Jehovah said to Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him; for it is not as man seeth; for man looketh upon the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh upon the heart. |
Y Jehová respondió a Samuel: No mires a su parecer, ni a lo grande de su estatura, porque yo lo desecho; porque Jehová no mira lo que mira el hombre; pues el hombre mira lo que está delante de sus ojos, pero Jehová mira el corazón. |

Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this. |
Et Isaï appela Abinadab et le fit passer devant Samuel. Et il dit : L'Éternel n'a pas non plus choisi celui-ci. |

Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither has Jehovah chosen this one. |
Entonces llamó Isaí a Abinadab, y lo hizo pasar delante de Samuel, el cual dijo: Tampoco a este ha escogido Jehová. |

Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the Lord chosen this. |
Et Isaï fit passer Shamma. Et il dit : L'Éternel n'a pas non plus choisi celui-ci. |

Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, Neither has Jehovah chosen this one. |
Hizo luego pasar Isaí a Sama. Y él dijo: Tampoco a este ha elegido Jehová. |

Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The Lord hath not chosen these. |
Et Isaï fit passer ses sept fils devant Samuel. Et Samuel dit à Isaï : L'Éternel n'a pas choisi ceux-ci. |

And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, Jehovah has not chosen these. |
E hizo pasar Isaí siete hijos suyos delante de Samuel; pero Samuel dijo a Isaí: Jehová no ha elegido a estos. |

And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. |
Et Samuel dit à Isaï : Sont-ce là tous les jeunes gens ? Et il dit : Il reste encore le plus jeune, et voici, il paît le menu bétail. Et Samuel dit à Isaï : Envoie, et fais-le amener ; car nous ne nous placerons point autour [de la table], jusqu'à ce qu'il soit venu ici. |

And Samuel said to Jesse, Are these all the young men? And he said, There is yet the youngest remaining, and behold, he is feeding the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, Send and fetch him; for we will not sit at table till he come hither. |
Entonces dijo Samuel a Isaí: ¿Son estos todos tus hijos? Y él respondió: Queda aún el menor, que apacienta las ovejas. Y dijo Samuel a Isaí: Envía por él, porque no nos sentaremos a la mesa hasta que él venga aquí. |

And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he. |
Et il envoya et le fit venir. Or il avait le teint rosé, avec de beaux yeux, et était beau de visage. Et l'Éternel dit : Lève-toi, oins-le ; car c'est celui-là. |

And he sent and brought him in. And he was ruddy, and besides of a lovely countenance and beautiful appearance. And Jehovah said, Arise, anoint him; for this is he. |
Envió, pues, por él, y le hizo entrar; y era rubio, hermoso de ojos, y de buen parecer. Entonces Jehová dijo: Levántate y úngelo, porque este es. |

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. |
Et Samuel prit la corne d'huile, et l'oignit au milieu de ses frères. Et l'Esprit de l'Éternel saisit Davidb, depuis ce jour-là et dans la suite. Et Samuel se leva et s'en alla à Rama. |

And Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren. And the Spirit of Jehovah came upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. |
Y Samuel tomó el cuerno del aceite, y lo ungió en medio de sus hermanos; y desde aquel día en adelante el Espíritu de Jehová vino sobre David. Se levantó luego Samuel, y se volvió a Ramá. |

But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. |
Et l'Esprit de l'Éternel se retira d'avec Saül, et un mauvais esprit [envoyé] par l'Éternel le troublait. |

And the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Jehovah troubled him. |
El Espíritu de Jehová se apartó de Saúl, y le atormentaba un espíritu malo de parte de Jehová. |

And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. |
Et les serviteurs de Saül lui dirent : Tu vois qu'unc mauvais esprit [envoyé] de Dieu te trouble. |

And Saul's servants said to him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubles thee. |
Y los criados de Saúl le dijeron: He aquí ahora, un espíritu malo de parte de Dios te atormenta. |

Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. |
Que notre seigneur veuille parler : tes serviteurs sont devant toi, ils chercheront un homme qui sache jouer de la harpe ; et il arrivera que, quand le mauvais esprit [envoyé] de Dieu sera sur toi, il jouera de sa main et tu t'en trouveras bien. |

Let our lord now speak; thy servants are before thee: they shall seek out a man, a skilful player on a harp; and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. |
Diga, pues, nuestro señor a tus siervos que están delante de ti, que busquen a alguno que sepa tocar el arpa, para que cuando esté sobre ti el espíritu malo de parte de Dios, él toque con su mano, y tengas alivio. |

And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me. |
Et Saül dit à ses serviteurs : Je vous prie, trouvez-moi un homme qui sache bien jouer, et amenez-le-moi. |

Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth–lehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him. |
Et l'un des jeunes hommes répondit et dit : Voici, j'ai vu un fils d'Isaï, le Bethléhémite, qui sait jouer, un homme fort et vaillant, et un homme de guerre, et qui a l'intelligence des chosesd, et un bel homme, et l'Éternel est avec lui. |

And one of the young men answered and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skilled in playing, and he is a valiant man and a man of war, and skilled in speech, and of good presence, and Jehovah is with him. |
Entonces uno de los criados respondió diciendo: He aquí yo he visto a un hijo de Isaí de Belén, que sabe tocar, y es valiente y vigoroso y hombre de guerra, prudente en sus palabras, y hermoso, y Jehová está con él. |

Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which is with the sheep. |
Et Saül envoya des messagers à Isaï, et dit : Envoie-moi David ton fils, qui est avec le menu bétail. |

And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul. |
Et Isaï prit un âne chargé de pain, et une outre de vin, et un chevreau, et les envoya à Saül par la main de David, son fils. |

And Jesse took an ass with bread, and a flask of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son to Saul. |
Y tomó Isaí un asno cargado de pan, una vasija de vino y un cabrito, y lo envió a Saúl por medio de David su hijo. |

And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armourbearer. |
Et David vint vers Saül, et il se tint devant lui ; et [Saül] l'aima beaucoup, et il fut son porteur d'armes. |

And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favour in my sight. |

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. |
Et il arrivait que, quand l'esprit [envoyé] de Dieu était sur Saül, David prenait la harpe et en jouait de sa main ; et Saül était soulagé et se trouvait bien, et le mauvais esprit se retirait de dessus lui. |

And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took the harp, and played with his hand; and Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. |
Y cuando el espíritu malo de parte de Dios venía sobre Saúl, David tomaba el arpa y tocaba con su mano; y Saúl tenía alivio y estaba mejor, y el espíritu malo se apartaba de él. |
