But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever. |

And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood. |

And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying, |

And he said: Blessed be Jehovah the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hands fulfilled it, saying, |

Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel: |
Depuis le jour que j'ai fait sortir mon peuple du pays d'Égypte, je n'ai choisi aucune ville d'entre toutes les tribus d'Israël pour [y] bâtir une maison afin que mon nom y fût, et je n'ai pas choisi d'homme pour être prince sur mon peuple Israël ; |

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. |

And it was in the heart of David my father to build a house unto the name of Jehovah the God of Israel. |
Y David mi padre tuvo en su corazón edificar casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel. |

But the Lord said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart: |
Et l'Éternel dit à David, mon père : Puisque tu as eu à cœur de bâtir une maison pour mon nom, tu as bien fait de l'avoir eu à cœur ; |

But Jehovah said to David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart; |
Mas Jehová dijo a David mi padre: Respecto a haber tenido en tu corazón deseo de edificar casa a mi nombre, bien has hecho en haber tenido esto en tu corazón. |

Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name. |
toutefois, tu ne bâtiras pas la maison ; mais ton fils qui sortira de tes reins, lui, bâtira une maison pour mon nom. |

nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name. |

The Lord therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. |
Et l'Éternel a accompli sa parole, qu'il a prononcée ; et je me suis levé à la place de David, mon père, et je suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'Éternel l'a dit ; et j'ai bâti la maison pour le nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, |

And Jehovah has performed his word which he spoke; and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and I have built the house unto the name of Jehovah the God of Israel. |
Y Jehová ha cumplido su palabra que había dicho, pues me levanté yo en lugar de David mi padre, y me he sentado en el trono de Israel, como Jehová había dicho, y he edificado casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel. |

And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the Lord, that he made with the children of Israel. |
et j'y ai mis l'arche, où est l'alliance de l'Éternel, qu'il a faite avec les fils d'Israël. |

And he stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands: |
Et il se tint devant l'autel de l'Éternel, en face de toute la congrégation d'Israël, et étendit ses mains ; |

And he stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of the whole congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands. |
Se puso luego Salomón delante del altar de Jehová, en presencia de toda la congregación de Israel, y extendió sus manos. |

For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven, |
car Salomon avait fait une estrade d'airain, longue de cinq coudées, large de cinq coudées, et haute de trois coudées, et l'avait mise au milieu de la cour ; et il s'y tint, et fléchit les genoux en face de toute la congrégation d'Israël, et étendit ses mains vers les cieux, |

And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts: |
et dit : Éternel, Dieu d'Israël ! il n'y a point de Dieu comme toi, dans les cieux et sur la terre, qui gardes l'alliance et la bonté envers tes serviteurs qui marchent devant toi de tout leur cœur, |

and said, Jehovah, God of Israel! there is no God like thee, in the heavens or on the earth, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart; |
Jehová Dios de Israel, no hay Dios semejante a ti en el cielo ni en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia con tus siervos que caminan delante de ti de todo su corazón; |

Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day. |
toi qui as gardé envers ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui as dit : tu as parlé de ta bouche, et de ta main tu as accompli [ta parole], comme [il paraît] aujourd'hui. |

who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him; thou spokest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy hand as at this day. |
que has guardado a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste; tú lo dijiste con tu boca, y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como se ve en este día. |

Now therefore, O Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me. |
Et maintenant, Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, garde envers ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui as dit, disant : Tu ne manqueras pas, devant ma face, d'un homme assis sur le trône d'Israël ; si seulement tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, pour marcher dans ma loi, comme tu as marché devant moi. |

And now, Jehovah, God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy sons take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me. |
Ahora, pues, Jehová Dios de Israel, cumple a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le has prometido, diciendo: No faltará de ti varón delante de mí, que se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino, andando en mi ley, como tú has andado delante de mí.b |

Now then, O Lord God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David. |
Et maintenant, Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, que ta parole, que tu as dite à ton serviteur David, soit ferme. |

And now, Jehovah, God of Israel, let thy word be verified which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David. |
Ahora, pues, oh Jehová Dios de Israel, cúmplase tu palabra que dijiste a tu siervo David. |
| 18 |
But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built! |
Mais Dieu habitera-t-il vraiment avec l'homme sur la terre ? Voici, les cieux, et les cieux des cieux, ne peuvent te contenir ; combien moins cette maison que j'ai bâtie ! |

But will God indeed dwell with man on the earth? behold, the heavens and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built! |
Mas ¿es verdad que Dios habitará con el hombre en la tierra? He aquí, los cielos y los cielos de los cielos no te pueden contener; ¿cuánto menos esta casa que he edificado?c |

Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee: |
Cependant, Éternel, mon Dieu, aie égard à la prière de ton serviteur et à sa supplication, pour écouter le cri et la prière que ton serviteur t'adressea, |

Yet have respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, Jehovah, my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee; |
Mas tú mirarás a la oración de tu siervo, y a su ruego, oh Jehová Dios mío, para oír el clamor y la oración con que tu siervo ora delante de ti. |

That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place. |
pour que tes yeux soient ouverts jour et nuit sur cette maison, sur le lieu où tu as dit que tu mettrais ton nom, pour écouter la prière que ton serviteur t'adressera [en se tournant] vers ce lieu-ci. |

that thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place in which thou hast said thou wouldest put thy name: to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place. |
Que tus ojos estén abiertos sobre esta casa de día y de noche, sobre el lugar del cual dijiste: Mi nombre estará allí;d que oigas la oración con que tu siervo ora en este lugar. |

Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive. |
Et écoute les supplications de ton serviteur et de ton peuple Israël, qu'ils t'adresseront [en se tournant] vers ce lieu-ci : toi, écoute des cieux, du lieu de ton habitation ; écoute et pardonne ! |

And hearken unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall pray toward this place, and hear thou from thy dwelling-place, from the heavens, and when thou hearest, forgive. |
Asimismo que oigas el ruego de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel, cuando en este lugar hicieren oración, que tú oirás desde los cielos, desde el lugar de tu morada; que oigas y perdones. |

If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house; |
Si un homme pèche contre son prochain, et qu'on lui impose le serment, pour le faire jurer, et que le serment vienne devant ton autel dans cette maison : |

If a man have sinned against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to adjure him, and the oath come before thine altar in this house; |
Si alguno pecare contra su prójimo, y se le exigiere juramento, y viniere a jurar ante tu altar en esta casa, |

Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness. |
alors, toi, écoute des cieux, et agis, et juge tes serviteurs, en rendant au méchant [selon ce qu'il a fait], en faisant retomber sa voie sur sa tête, et en justifiant le juste, en lui donnant selon sa justice. |

then hear thou from the heavens, and do, and judge thy servants, requiting the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, giving him according to his righteousness. |
tú oirás desde los cielos, y actuarás, y juzgarás a tus siervos, dando la paga al impío, haciendo recaer su proceder sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo al darle conforme a su justicia. |

And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house; |
Et si ton peuple Israël est battu devant l'ennemi, parce qu'ils ont péché contre toi, et qu'ils retournent [vers toi], et confessent ton nom, et te prient, et présentent leur supplication devant toi dans cette maison : |

And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication before thee in this house; |
Si tu pueblo Israel fuere derrotado delante del enemigo por haber prevaricado contra ti, y se convirtiere, y confesare tu nombre, y rogare delante de ti en esta casa, |

Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers. |
alors, toi, écoute des cieux, et pardonne le péché de ton peuple Israël ; et fais-les retourner dans la terre que tu leur as donnée, à eux et à leurs pères. |

then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land that thou gavest to them and to their fathers. |
tú oirás desde los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y les harás volver a la tierra que diste a ellos y a sus padres. |

When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them; |
Quand les cieux seront fermés et qu'il n'y aura pas de pluie, parce qu'ils auront péché contre toi, s'ils prient [en se tournant] vers ce lieu-ci, et qu'ils confessent ton nom et reviennent de leur péché, parce que tu les auras affligés : |

When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, because thou hast afflicted them; |
Si los cielos se cerraren y no hubiere lluvias, por haber pecado contra ti, si oraren a ti hacia este lugar, y confesaren tu nombre, y se convirtieren de sus pecados, cuando los afligieres, |

Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance. |
alors, toi, écoute dans les cieux, et pardonne le péché de tes serviteurs et de ton peuple Israël, quand tu leur auras enseigné le bon chemin dans lequel ils doivent marcher ; et donne la pluie sur ton pays que tu as donné en héritage à ton peuple. |

then hear thou in the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance. |
tú los oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel, y les enseñarás el buen camino para que anden en él, y darás lluvia sobre tu tierra, que diste por heredad a tu pueblo. |

If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be: |
S'il y a famine dans le pays, s'il y a peste, s'il y a brûlure, ou rouille, sauterelles ou locustes, si ses ennemis l'assiègent dans le pays de ses portes, quelque plaie ou quelque maladie qu'il y ait, |

If there be famine in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blight or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their gates; whatever plague or whatever sickness there be: |
Si hubiere hambre en la tierra, o si hubiere pestilencia, si hubiere tizoncillo o añublo, langosta o pulgón; o si los sitiaren sus enemigos en la tierra en donde moren; cualquiera plaga o enfermedad que sea; |

Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house: |
quelle que soit la prière, quelle que soit la supplication que fera un homme quelconque, ou tout ton peuple Israël, quand ils reconnaîtront chacun sa plaie et sa souffrance et qu'ils étendront leurs mains vers cette maison : |

what prayer, what supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, when they shall know every man his own plague, and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house; |
toda oración y todo ruego que hiciere cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cualquiera que conociere su llaga y su dolor en su corazón, si extendiere sus manos hacia esta casa, |

Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:) |
alors, toi, écoute des cieux, du lieub de ton habitation, et pardonne, et donne à chacun selon toutes ses voies, suivant que tu connais son cœur (car tu connais, toi seul, le cœur des fils des hommes), |

then hear thou from the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, and forgive, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou, thou only, knowest the hearts of the children of men), |
tú oirás desde los cielos, desde el lugar de tu morada, y perdonarás, y darás a cada uno conforme a sus caminos, habiendo conocido su corazón; porque solo tú conoces el corazón de los hijos de los hombres; |

That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers. |
afin qu'ils te craignent pour marcher dans tes voies, tous les jours qu'ils vivront sur la face de la terre que tu as donnée à nos pères. |

that they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, all the days that they live upon the land which thou gavest unto our fathers. |
para que te teman y anden en tus caminos, todos los días que vivieren sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres. |

Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name’s sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house; |
Et quant à l'étranger aussi, qui ne sera pas de ton peuple Israël, mais qui viendra d'un pays lointain à cause de ton grand nom, et de ta main forte, et de ton bras étendu, s'il vient et présente sa prière [en se tournant] vers cette maison : |

And as to the stranger also, who is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand and thy stretched-out arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house, |
Y también al extranjero que no fuere de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejanas tierras a causa de tu gran nombre y de tu mano poderosa, y de tu brazo extendido, si viniere y orare hacia esta casa, |

Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name. |
alors, toi. écoute des cieux, du lieuc de ton habitation, et agis selon tout ce que l'étranger réclamera de toi ; afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent ton nom, et te craignent, comme ton peuple Israël, et qu'ils sachent que cette maison que j'ai bâtie est appelée de ton nomd. |

then hear thou from the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; in order that all peoples of the earth may know thy name, and may fear thee as do thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name. |
tú oirás desde los cielos, desde el lugar de tu morada, y harás conforme a todas las cosas por las cuales hubiere clamado a ti el extranjero; para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre, y te teman así como tu pueblo Israel, y sepan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta casa que yo he edificado. |

If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name; |
Lorsque ton peuple sortira pour la guerre contre ses ennemis, par le chemin par lequel tu l'auras envoyé, et qu'ils te prieront en se tournant vers cette ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie pour ton nom : |

If thy people go out to battle against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city that thou hast chosen, and the house that I have built unto thy name; |
Si tu pueblo saliere a la guerra contra sus enemigos por el camino que tú les enviares, y oraren a ti hacia esta ciudad que tú elegiste, hacia la casa que he edificado a tu nombre, |

Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. |
alors, écoute des cieux leur prière et leur supplication, et fais-leur droit. |

If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near; |
S'ils ont péché contre toi (car il n'y a point d'homme qui ne pèche), et que tu te sois irrité contre eux, et que tu les aies livrés à l'ennemi, et qu'ilse les aient emmenés captifs en un pays éloigné ou rapproché, |

If they have sinned against thee (for there is no man that sinneth not), and thou be angry with them, and give them up to the enemy, and they have carried them away captives unto a land far off or near; |
Si pecaren contra ti (pues no hay hombre que no peque), y te enojares contra ellos, y los entregares delante de sus enemigos, para que los que los tomaren los lleven cautivos a tierra de enemigos, lejos o cerca, |

Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly; |
et que, dans le pays où ils auront été emmenés captifs, ils rentrent en eux-mêmesf, et reviennent [à toi] et te supplient, dans le pays de leur captivité, disant : Nous avons péché, nous avons commis l'iniquité, et nous avons agi méchamment, |

and if they shall take it to heart in the land whither they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done iniquity and have dealt perversely; |

If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name: |
— et s'ils reviennent à toi de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leur captivité, où on les aura emmenés captifs, et [te] prient en se tournant vers leur pays que tu as donné à leurs pères, et vers la ville que tu as choisie, et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie pour ton nom : |

Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee. |
alors, écoute des cieux, du lieug de ton habitation, leur prière et leurs supplications, et fais-leur droit, et pardonne à ton peuple ce en quoi ils ont péché contre toi. |

Now therefore arise, O Lord God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness. |
Et maintenant, Éternel Dieu ! lève-toi pour [entrer dans] ton repos, toi et l'arche de ta force ! Que tes sacrificateurs, Éternel Dieu, soient revêtus de salut, et que tes saintsh se réjouissent en [ta] bontéi ! |
