It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. |
☆ Et il arriva, après ces choses, que les fils de Moab et les fils d'Ammon, et avec eux une partie des Maonitesa, vinrent contre Josaphat pour faire la guerre. |

And it came to pass after this that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them certain of the Maonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. |

Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon–tamar, which is En–gedi. |
Et on vint et on rapporta à Josaphat, en disant : Il est venu contre toi une grande multitude, de l'autre côté de la mer, de la Syrie ; et voici, ils sont à Hatsatson-Thamar, qui est En-Guédi. |

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. |

And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? |
et il dit : Éternel, Dieu de nos pères ! n'es-tu pas le Dieu qui es dans les cieuxb, et [n'est-ce pas] toi qui domines sur tous les royaumes des nations ? Et en ta main est la puissance et la force, et nul ne peut te résister. |

and he said, Jehovah, God of our fathers, art not thou God in the heavens, and rulest thou not over all the kingdoms of the nations? And in thy hand there is power and might, and none can withstand thee. |

Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? |
N'est-ce pas toi, notre Dieu, qui as dépossédé les habitants de ce pays devant ton peuple Israël, et qui l'as donné à toujours à la semence d'Abraham, ton ami ? |

Hast not thou, our God, dispossessed the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and given it for ever to the seed of Abraham, thy friend? |
Dios nuestro, ¿no echaste tú los moradores de esta tierra delante de tu pueblo Israel, y la diste a la descendencia de Abraham tu amigoa para siempre? |

If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. |
S'il nous arrive du mal, épée, jugement, ou peste, ou famine, et que nous nous tenions devant cette maison et devant toi, car ton nom est dans cette maison, et que nous criions à toi à cause de notre angoisse, tu écouteras, et tu sauveras. |

If evil come upon us, sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, and we stand before this house and before thee--for thy name is in this house--and cry unto thee in our distress, then thou wilt hear and save. |

And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not; |

Ô notre Dieu, ne les jugeras-tu pas ? car il n'y a point de force en nous devant cette grande multitude qui vient contre nous, et nousc ne savons ce que nous devons faire, mais nos yeux sont sur toi ! |

Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation; |
Et l'Esprit de l'Éternel vint, au milieu de la congrégation, sur Jakhaziel, fils de Zacharie, fils de Benaïa, fils de Jehiel, fils de Matthania, lévite d'entre les fils d'Asaph. |

And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. |
Et il dit : Soyez attentifs, vous, tout Juda, et vous, habitants de Jérusalem, et toi, roi Josaphat. Ainsi vous dit l'Éternel : Ne craignez point, et ne soyez point effrayés à cause de cette grande multitude ; car cette guerre n'est pas la vôtre, mais celle de Dieu. |

and he said, Be attentive, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat! Thus saith Jehovah unto you: Fear not, nor be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. |
y dijo: Oíd, Judá todo, y vosotros moradores de Jerusalén, y tú, rey Josafat. Jehová os dice así: No temáis ni os amedrentéis delante de esta multitud tan grande, porque no es vuestra la guerra, sino de Dios. |

To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. |
Demain, descendez contre eux : voici, ils vont monter par la montée de Tsits, et vous les trouverez au bout de la vallée, devant le désert de Jeruel. |

To-morrow go down against them: behold, they come up by the ascent of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel. |
Mañana descenderéis contra ellos; he aquí que ellos subirán por la cuesta de Sis, y los hallaréis junto al arroyo, antes del desierto de Jeruel. |

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. |
Ce n'est point à vous de combattre en cette affaire ; présentez-vous, [et] tenez-vous là, et voyez la délivrance de l'Éternel [qui est] avec vous. Juda et Jérusalem, ne craignez pas et ne soyez pas effrayés ; demain, sortez à leur rencontre, et l'Éternel sera avec vous. |

Ye shall not have to fight on this occasion: set yourselves, stand and see the salvation of Jehovah who is with you! Judah and Jerusalem, fear not nor be dismayed; to-morrow go out against them, and Jehovah will be with you. |
No habrá para qué peleéis vosotros en este caso; paraos, estad quietos, y ved la salvación de Jehová con vosotros. Oh Judá y Jerusalén, no temáis ni desmayéis; salid mañana contra ellos, porque Jehová estará con vosotros.c |

And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord. |
Et Josaphat s'inclina le visage contre terre, et tout Juda et les habitants de Jérusalem tombèrent [sur leurs faces] devant l'Éternel, pour adorer l'Éternel. |

And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before Jehovah, worshipping Jehovah. |
Entonces Josafat se inclinó rostro a tierra, y asimismo todo Judá y los moradores de Jerusalén se postraron delante de Jehová, y adoraron a Jehová. |

And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high. |
Et les lévites d'entre les fils des Kehathites et d'entre les fils des Corites se levèrent pour louer l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, à grande et haute voix. |

And the Levites, of the sons of the Kohathites, and of the sons of the Korahites, stood up to praise Jehovah the God of Israel with an exceeding loud voice. |
Y se levantaron los levitas de los hijos de Coat y de los hijos de Coré, para alabar a Jehová el Dios de Israel con fuerte y alta voz. |

And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. |
Et ils se levèrent de bonne heure le matin, et sortirent vers le désert de Thekoa ; et comme ils sortaient, Josaphat se tint là et dit : Écoutez-moi, Juda, et vous, habitants de Jérusalem : Croyez à l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et vous serez affermis ; croyez ses prophètes, et vous prospérerez. |

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. |
Et il tint conseil avec le peuple, et il établit des chantres pour l'Éternel, et ceux qui louaient dans la sainte magnificence, et disaient, en sortant devant les troupes équipées : Célébrez l'Éternel, car sa bonté [demeure] à toujours. |

And he consulted with the people, and appointed singers to Jehovah, and those that should praise in holy splendour, as they went forth before the armed men, and say, Give thanks to Jehovah; for his loving-kindness endureth for ever! |
Y habido consejo con el pueblo, puso a algunos que cantasen y alabasen a Jehová, vestidos de ornamentos sagrados, mientras salía la gente armada, y que dijesen: Glorificad a Jehová, porque su misericordia es para siempre. |

And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. |
Et au moment où ils commençaient le chant de triomphe et la louange, l'Éternel mit des embûches contre les fils d'Ammon [et] de Moab et [ceux de] la montagne de Séhir, qui venaient contre Juda, et ils furent battus. |

And when they began the song of triumph and praise, Jehovah set liers-in-wait against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, who had come against Judah, and they were smitten. |
Y cuando comenzaron a entonar cantos de alabanza, Jehová puso contra los hijos de Amón, de Moab y del monte de Seir, las emboscadas de ellos mismos que venían contra Judá, y se mataron los unos a los otros. |

For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. |
Et les fils d'Ammon et de Moab se levèrent contre les habitants de la montagne de Séhir, pour les exterminer et les détruire ; et quand ils en eurent fini avec les habitants de Séhir, ils s'aidèrent l'un l'autre à se détruire. |

And the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, to exterminate and destroy them ; and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. |
Porque los hijos de Amón y Moab se levantaron contra los del monte de Seir para matarlos y destruirlos; y cuando hubieron acabado con los del monte de Seir, cada cual ayudó a la destrucción de su compañero. |

And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. |
Et Juda vint sur un lieu élevé [d'où l'on voyait] le désert ; et ils regardèrent du côté de la multitude, et voici, c'étaient des cadavres étendus par terre, et personne n'était échappé. |

And Judah came on to the mountain-watch in the wilderness, and they looked toward the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none had escaped. |
Y luego que vino Judá a la torre del desierto, miraron hacia la multitud, y he aquí yacían ellos en tierra muertos, pues ninguno había escapado. |

And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. |
Et Josaphat et son peuple vinrent pour piller leur butin, et ils trouvèrent parmi eux en abondance des richesses et desd cadavres, et des objets précieux, et ils en ramassèrent à ne pouvoir les porter ; et ils furent trois jours à piller le butin, car il était abondant. |

And Jehoshaphat and his people came to plunder the spoil of them, and they found among them in abundance, both riches with the dead bodies, and precious things, and they stripped off for themselves more than they could carry away; and they were three days in plundering the spoil, it was so much. |
Viniendo entonces Josafat y su pueblo a despojarlos, hallaron entre los cadáveres muchas riquezas, así vestidos como alhajas preciosas, que tomaron para sí, tantos, que no los podían llevar; tres días estuvieron recogiendo el botín, porque era mucho. |

And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the Lord: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day. |
Et le quatrième jour, ils s'assemblèrent dans la vallée de Beracae, car là ils bénirent l'Éternel ; c'est pourquoi on a appelé ce lieu-là du nom de vallée de Beraca, jusqu'à ce jour. |

And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah, for there they blessed Jehovah; therefore the name of that place was called The valley of Berachah, to this day. |
Y al cuarto día se juntaron en el valle de Beraca; porque allí bendijeron a Jehová, y por esto llamaron el nombre de aquel paraje el valle de Beraca,d hasta hoy. |

Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies. |
Et tous les hommes de Juda et de Jérusalem, et Josaphat à leur tête, s'en retournèrent, revenant à Jérusalem avec joie ; car l'Éternel les avait réjouis au sujet de leurs ennemis. |

And they returned, all the men of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat at their head, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for Jehovah had made them to rejoice over their enemies. |
Y todo Judá y los de Jerusalén, y Josafat a la cabeza de ellos, volvieron para regresar a Jerusalén gozosos, porque Jehová les había dado gozo librándolos de sus enemigos. |

And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the Lord. |
Et ils vinrent à Jérusalem, à la maison de l'Éternel, avec des luths et des harpes et des trompettes. |

And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel. |
Et la frayeur de Dieu fut sur tous les royaumes des pays, quand ils entendirent que l'Éternel combattait contre les ennemis d'Israël. |

And the terror of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands, when they had heard that Jehovah fought against the enemies of Israel. |
Y el pavor de Dios cayó sobre todos los reinos de aquella tierra, cuando oyeron que Jehová había peleado contra los enemigos de Israel. |

So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about. |

And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi. |
Et Josaphat régna sur Juda. Il était âgé de trente-cinq ans lorsqu'il commença de régner, et il régna vingt-cinq ans à Jérusalem ; et le nom de sa mère était Azuba, fille de Shilkhi. |

And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the Lord. |

Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers. |
Seulement, les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés, et le peuple n'avait pas encore disposé son cœur à [rechercher] le Dieu de ses pères. |

Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the Lord hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish. |
Et Éliézer, fils de Dodava, de Marésha, prophétisa contre Josaphat, disant : Parce que tu t'es lié avec Achazia, l'Éternel a détruit tes œuvres : et les navires furent brisés, et ne purent aller à Tarsis. |
