Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years. |

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images. |
Et la huitième année de son règne, lorsqu'il était encore un jeune garçon, il commença de rechercher le Dieu de David, son père ; et la douzième année, il commença de purifier Juda et Jérusalem des hauts lieux, et des ashères, et des images taillées, et des images de fonte. |

And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them. |
Et on démolit devant lui les autels des Baals, et il abattit les colonnes consacrées au soleil, qui étaient en haut au-dessus d'eux ; et il brisa les ashères, et les images taillées et les images de fonte, et les broya, et en répandit la poussièreb sur les sépulcres de ceux qui leur avaient sacrifié ; |

And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem. |
il démolit les autels, et mit en pièces, jusqu'à les réduire en poussière, les ashères et les images taillées, et abattit toutes les colonnes consacrées au soleil, dans tout le pays d'Israël ; et il s'en retourna à Jérusalem. |

and he broke down the altars, and beat the Asherahs and the graven images into powder, and cut down all the sun-pillars throughout the land of Israel, and returned to Jerusalem. |

Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God. |
Et la dix-huitième année de son règne,c lors de la purification du pays et de la maison, il envoya Shaphan, fils d'Atsalia, et Maascéïa, le chef de la ville, et Joakh, fils de Joakhaz, le rédacteur des chroniques, pour réparer la maison de l'Éternel, son Dieu. |

And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem. |

And they put it in the hand of the workmen that had the oversight of the house of the Lord, and they gave it to the workmen that wrought in the house of the Lord, to repair and amend the house: |
Et ils le remirent en la main de ceux qui faisaient l'ouvrage, qui étaient préposés [sur le travail] dans la maison de l'Éternel ; et ceux-ci le remirent aux ouvriers qui travaillaient dans la maison de l'Éternel, pour refaire et réparer la maison : |

And they gave it into the hand of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of Jehovah; and they gave it to the workmen who wrought in the house of Jehovah to reinstate and repair the house: |
Y lo entregaron en mano de los que hacían la obra, que eran mayordomos en la casa de Jehová, los cuales lo daban a los que hacían la obra y trabajaban en la casa de Jehová, para reparar y restaurar el templo. |

Even to the artificers and builders gave they it, to buy hewn stone, and timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed. |
ils le remirent aux charpentiers et aux constructeurs pour acheter des pierres de taille, et des bois pour les assemblages, et pour faire la charpenterie des maisons que les rois de Juda avaient détruites. |

they gave it to the carpenters and the builders, to buy hewn stone, and timber for the joists, and to floor the houses that the kings of Judah had destroyed. |
Daban asimismo a los carpinteros y canteros para que comprasen piedra de cantería, y madera para los armazones y para la entabladura de los edificios que habían destruido los reyes de Judá. |

And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of musick. |
Et ces hommes faisaient le travail avec fidélité. Et sur eux étaient préposés Jakhath et Abdias, lévites d'entre les fils de Merari, et Zacharie et Meshullam d'entre les fils des Kehathites, pour la surveillance ; et tous ces lévites étaient habiles à [jouer] des instruments de musique. |

And the men did the work faithfully. And over them were appointed Jahath and Obadiah, Levites, of the children of Merari, and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the children of the Kohathites, for the oversight; and all these Levites were skilled in instruments of music. |
Y estos hombres procedían con fidelidad en la obra; y eran sus mayordomos Jahat y Abdías, levitas de los hijos de Merari, y Zacarías y Mesulam de los hijos de Coat, para que activasen la obra; y de los levitas, todos los entendidos en instrumentos de música. |

Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters. |
Et [ils étaient préposés] sur les portefaix, et ils surveillaient tous ceux qui étaient occupés à toute sorte de service. Et les scribes, et les intendants, et les portiers étaient d'entre les lévites. |

And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the Lord given by Moses. |
Et comme on sortait l'argent qui avait été apporté dans la maison de l'Éternel, Hilkija, le sacrificateur, trouva le livre de la loi de l'Éternel [donnée] par Moïse. |

And when they brought out the money that had been brought into the house of Jehovah, Hilkijah the priest found the book of the law of Jehovah by Moses. |
Y al sacar el dinero que había sido traído a la casa de Jehová, el sacerdote Hilcías halló el libro de la ley de Jehová dada por medio de Moisés. |

And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan. |
Et Hilkija prit la parole et dit à Shaphan, le scribe : J'ai trouvé le livre de la loi dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et Hilkija donna le livre à Shaphan. |

Then Hilkijah spoke and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of Jehovah. And Hilkijah gave the book to Shaphan. |
Y dando cuenta Hilcías, dijo al escriba Safán: Yo he hallado el libro de la ley en la casa de Jehová. Y dio Hilcías el libro a Safán. |

And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to thy servants, they do it. |
Et Shaphan apporta le livre au roi ; et de plus il rendit compte au roi, disant : Tout ce qui a été remis en la main de tes serviteurs, ils l'exécutent ; |

And Shaphan carried the book to the king. And moreover he brought the king word again saying, All that was committed to the hand of thy servants, they do; |
Y Safán lo llevó al rey, y le contó el asunto, diciendo: Tus siervos han cumplido todo lo que les fue encomendado. |

And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the Lord, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and to the hand of the workmen. |
et ils ont versé l'argent qui s'est trouvé dans la maison de l'Éternel, et l'ont remis entre les mains des préposés et entre les mains de ceux qui font l'ouvrage. |

and they have emptied out the money that was found in the house of Jehovah, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and into the hand of the workmen. |
Han reunido el dinero que se halló en la casa de Jehová, y lo han entregado en mano de los encargados, y en mano de los que hacen la obra. |

Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. |
Et Shaphan, le scribe, raconta au roi, disant : Hilkija, le sacrificateur, m'a donné un livre. Et Shaphan y lut devant le roi. |

And Shaphan the scribe informed the king saying, Hilkijah the priest has given me a book. And Shaphan read out of it before the king. |
Además de esto, declaró el escriba Safán al rey, diciendo: El sacerdote Hilcías me dio un libro. Y leyó Safán en él delante del rey. |

And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes. |
Et il arriva que, quand le roi entendit les paroles de la loi, il déchira ses vêtements. |

Luego que el rey oyó las palabras de la ley, rasgó sus vestidos; |

And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king’s, saying, |

Go, enquire of the Lord for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord, to do after all that is written in this book. |
Allez, consultez l'Éternel pour moi et pour ce qui est de reste en Israël et en Juda, touchant les paroles du livre qui a été trouvé ; car grande est la fureur de l'Éternel, qui s'est déversée sur nous, parce que nos pères n'ont pas gardé la parole de l'Éternel, pour faire selon tout ce qui est écrit dans ce livre. |

Go, inquire of Jehovah for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book which is found; for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of Jehovah, to do according to all that is written in this book. |
Andad, consultad a Jehová por mí y por el remanente de Israel y de Judá acerca de las palabras del libro que se ha hallado; porque grande es la ira de Jehová que ha caído sobre nosotros, por cuanto nuestros padres no guardaron la palabra de Jehová, para hacer conforme a todo lo que está escrito en este libro. |

And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spake to her to that effect. |
Et Hilkija et les gens du roi allèrent vers Hulda, la prophétesse, femme de Shallum, fils de Thokehath, fils de Hasra, qui avait la garde des vêtements ; et elle habitait à Jérusalem dans le second quartier de la ville ; et ils lui parlèrent selon ces choses. |

And Hilkijah and they that the king had appointed went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokehath, son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe: now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter of the town ; and they spoke with her to that effect. |
Entonces Hilcías y los del rey fueron a Hulda profetisa, mujer de Salum hijo de Ticva, hijo de Harhas, guarda de las vestiduras, la cual moraba en Jerusalén en el segundo barrio, y le dijeron las palabras antes dichas. |

And she answered them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me, |

Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah: |
Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Voici, je fais venir du mal sur ce lieu et sur ses habitants, toutes les malédictionse qui sont écrites dans le livre qu'on a lu devant le roi de Juda. |

Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah. |
He aquí yo traigo mal sobre este lugar, y sobre los moradores de él, todas las maldiciones que están escritas en el libro que leyeron delante del rey de Judá; |

Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched. |
Parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné et qu'ils ont brûlé de l'encens à d'autres dieux, pour me provoquer à colère par toutes les œuvres de leurs mains, ma fureur se déversera sur ce lieu, et elle ne s'éteindra point. |

por cuanto me han dejado, y han ofrecido sacrificios a dioses ajenos, provocándome a ira con todas las obras de sus manos; por tanto, se derramará mi ira sobre este lugar, y no se apagará. |

And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard; |
Et au roi de Juda qui vous a envoyés pour consulter l'Éternel, vous direz ainsi : Ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, quant aux paroles que tu as entendues : |

But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Jehovah, thus shall ye say to him: Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel touching the words which thou hast heard: |
Mas al rey de Judá, que os ha enviado a consultar a Jehová, así le diréis: Jehová el Dios de Israel ha dicho así: Por cuanto oíste las palabras del libro, |

Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the Lord. |
Parce que ton cœur a été sensible, et que tu t'es humilié devant Dieu quand tu as entendu ses paroles contre ce lieu et contre ses habitants, et parce que tu t'es humilié devant moi, et que tu as déchiré tes vêtements, et que tu as pleuré devant moi, moi aussi j'ai entendu, ditf l'Éternel. |

Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again. |
Voici, je vais te recueillir auprès de tes pères, et tu seras recueilli en paix dans tes sépulcres, et tes yeux ne verront pas tout le mal que je fais venir sur ce lieu, et sur ses habitants. Et ils rapportèrent au roi [cette] parole. |

Behold, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof. And they brought the king word again. |
He aquí que yo te recogeré con tus padres, y serás recogido en tu sepulcro en paz, y tus ojos no verán todo el mal que yo traigo sobre este lugar y sobre los moradores de él. Y ellos refirieron al rey la respuesta. |

Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. |
Et le roi envoya, et assembla tous les anciens de Juda et de Jérusalem. |

And the king went up into the house of the Lord, and all the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the Lord. |
Et le roi monta à la maison de l'Éternel, et tous les hommes de Juda, et les habitants de Jérusalem, et les sacrificateurs, et les lévites, et tout le peuple, depuis le grand jusqu'au petit ; et on lut, eux l'entendantg, toutes les paroles du livre de l'alliance qui avait été trouvé dans la maison de l'Éternel. |

And the king went up into the house of Jehovah, and all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests and the Levites, and all the people, great and small; and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant which had been found in the house of Jehovah. |

And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book. |
Et le roi se tint debout à sa place, et fit cette alliance devant l'Éternel, de marcher après l'Éternel et de garder ses commandements et ses témoignages et ses statuts, de tout son cœur et de toute son âme, pour pratiquer les paroles de l'alliance, écrites dans ce livre. |

And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before Jehovah, to walk after Jehovah, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that are written in this book. |
Y estando el rey en pie en su sitio, hizo delante de Jehová pacto de caminar en pos de Jehová y de guardar sus mandamientos, sus testimonios y sus estatutos, con todo su corazón y con toda su alma, poniendo por obra las palabras del pacto que estaban escritas en aquel libro. |

And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. |
Et il fit entrer [dans l'alliance] tous ceux qui se trouvaient à Jérusalem et en Benjamin ; et les habitants de Jérusalem firent selon l'alliance de Dieu, du Dieu de leurs pères. |

And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it . And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. |
E hizo que se obligaran a ello todos los que estaban en Jerusalén y en Benjamín; y los moradores de Jerusalén hicieron conforme al pacto de Dios, del Dios de sus padres. |

And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the Lord their God. And all his days they departed not from following the Lord, the God of their fathers. |
Et Josias ôta toutes les abominations deh tous les pays qui appartenaient aux fils d'Israël, et obligeai tous ceux qui se trouvaient en Israël à servir l'Éternel, leur Dieu. Pendant tous ses jours, ils ne se détournèrent pas dej l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères. |

And Josiah removed all the abominations out of all the countries that belonged to the children of Israel, and made to serve all that were found in Israel, --to serve Jehovah their God: all his days they did not depart from following Jehovah, the God of their fathers. |
Y quitó Josías todas las abominaciones de toda la tierra de los hijos de Israel, e hizo que todos los que se hallaban en Israel sirviesen a Jehová su Dios. No se apartaron de en pos de Jehová el Dios de sus padres, todo el tiempo que él vivió. |
