And Gilead's wife bore him sons; and when his wife's sons were grown, they expelled Jephthah, and said to him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of another woman. |
Pero la mujer de Galaad le dio hijos, los cuales, cuando crecieron, echaron fuera a Jefté, diciéndole: No heredarás en la casa de nuestro padre, porque eres hijo de otra mujer. |

Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him. |

And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel. |

And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: |
et comme les fils d'Ammon faisaient la guerre à Israël, les anciens de Galaad allèrent pour amener Jephthé du pays de Tob. |

And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father’s house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress? |
Et Jephthé dit aux anciens de Galaad : N'est-ce pas vous qui m'avez haï et qui m'avez chassé de la maison de mon père ? Et pourquoi venez-vous à moi, maintenant que vous êtes dans la détresse ? |

And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. |
Et les anciens de Galaad dirent à Jephthé : C'est pour ceci que nous sommes maintenant revenus vers toi, afin que tu viennes avec nous, et que tu fasses la guerre contre les fils d'Ammon ; et tu seras notre chef, à nous tous, les habitants de Galaad. |

And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, Therefore we have returned to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be head over all of us the inhabitants of Gilead. |
Y los ancianos de Galaad respondieron a Jefté: Por esta misma causa volvemos ahora a ti, para que vengas con nosotros y pelees contra los hijos de Amón, y seas caudillo de todos los que moramos en Galaad. |

And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the Lord deliver them before me, shall I be your head? |
Et Jephthé dit aux anciens de Galaad : Si vous me ramenez pour faire la guerre contre les fils d'Ammon et que l'Éternel les livre devant moi, serai-je votre chef ? |

And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The Lord be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words. |

Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the Lord in Mizpeh. |
Et Jephthé alla avec les anciens de Galaad, et le peuple l'établit chef et capitaine sur lui. Et Jephthé prononça toutes ses paroles devant l'Éternel, à Mitspa. |

And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably. |
Et le roi des fils d'Ammon dit aux messagers de Jephthé : C'est parce qu'Israël a pris mon pays, quand il monta d'Égypte, depuis l'Arnon jusqu'au Jabbok et jusqu'au Jourdain ; et maintenant, rends-moi ces [contrées] en paix. |

And the king of the children of Ammon said to the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even unto the Jabbok and unto the Jordan; and now restore it peaceably. |

Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken thereto. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not consent: and Israel abode in Kadesh. |
et Israël envoya des messagers au roi d'Édom, disant : Laisse-moi passer par ton pays ; mais le roi d'Édom n'écouta pas. Et il envoya aussi au roi de Moab ; mais il ne voulut pas. Et Israël demeura à Kadès. |

Then they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab: for Arnon was the border of Moab. |
Et il marcha par le désert, et tourna le pays d'Édom et le pays de Moab, et vint du côté du soleil levant au pays de Moab, et ils campèrent au delà de l'Arnon, mais n'entrèrent pas dans les limites de Moab, car l'Arnon était la limite de Moab. |

And they walked through the wilderness, and went round the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and came by the east of the land of Moab, and encamped beyond the Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab, for the Arnon is the border of Moab. |

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said unto him, Let us pass, we pray thee, through thy land into my place. |
Et Israël envoya des messagers à Sihon, roi des Amoréens, roi de Hesbon, et Israël lui dit : Laisse-nous passer par ton pays, jusqu'en notre lieu. |

But Sihon trusted not Israel to pass through his coast: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and pitched in Jahaz, and fought against Israel. |
Mais Sihon ne se fia pas à Israël pour le laisser passer par ses limites ; et Sihon rassembla tout son peuple, et ils campèrent à Jahtsa, et combattirent contre Israël. |

And the Lord God of Israel delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they smote them: so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country. |
Et l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, livra Sihon et tout son peuple en la main d'Israël, et [Israël] les frappa ; et Israël prit possession de tout le pays des Amoréens qui habitaient dans ce pays-là : |

And Jehovah the God of Israel gave Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they smote them; and Israel took possession of the whole land of the Amorites, who dwelt in that country. |
Pero Jehová Dios de Israel entregó a Sehón y a todo su pueblo en mano de Israel, y los derrotó; y se apoderó Israel de toda la tierra de los amorreos que habitaban en aquel país. |

And they possessed all the coasts of the Amorites, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and from the wilderness even unto Jordan. |
et ils eurent la possession de tout le territoire des Amoréens, depuis l'Arnon jusqu'au Jabbok, et depuis le désert jusqu'au Jourdain. |

And they possessed all the borders of the Amorites, from the Arnon unto the Jabbok, and from the wilderness unto the Jordan. |

So now the Lord God of Israel hath dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and shouldest thou possess it? |
Et maintenant l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, a dépossédé les Amoréens devant son peuple Israël, et toi, tu nous en dépossèderais ? |

And now Jehovah the God of Israel has dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and shouldest thou take possession of it? |
Así que, lo que Jehová Dios de Israel desposeyó al amorreo delante de su pueblo Israel, ¿pretendes tú apoderarte de él? |

Wilt not thou possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever the Lord our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess. |
Ne possèdes-tu pas ce que ton dieu Kemosh t'a fait posséder ? Et nous aurons la possession de tous ceux que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, aura dépossédés devant nous. |

Dost not thou possess what Chemosh thy god puts thee in possession of? and whatever Jehovah our God has dispossessed before us, that will we possess. |
Lo que te hiciere poseer Quemos tu dios, ¿no lo poseerías tú? Así, todo lo que desposeyó Jehová nuestro Dios delante de nosotros, nosotros lo poseeremos. |

And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them, |
Et maintenant, vaux-tu donc mieux que Balak, fils de Tsippor, roi de Moab ? A-t-il jamais contesté contre Israël ? a-t-il jamais combattu contre eux ? |

And now art thou indeed better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive with Israel? did he ever fight against them? |
¿Eres tú ahora mejor en algo que Balac hijo de Zipor, rey de Moab?d ¿Tuvo él cuestión contra Israel, o hizo guerra contra ellos? |

While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time? |
Pendant qu'Israël a habité Hesbon et les villages de son ressort, et Aroër et les villages de son ressort, et toutes les villes qui sont le long de l'Arnon, pendant trois cents ans, pourquoi ne les avez-vous pas délivrées en ce temps-là ? |

While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and its dependent villages, and in Aroer and its dependent villages, and in all the cities that are along the banks of the Arnon, three hundred years--why did ye not recover them within that time? |
Cuando Israel ha estado habitando por trescientos años a Hesbón y sus aldeas, a Aroer y sus aldeas, y todas las ciudades que están en el territorio de Arnón, ¿por qué no las habéis recobrado en ese tiempo? |

Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the Lord the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon. |
Et ce n'est pas moi qui ai péché contre toi, mais c'est toi qui me fais tort, en m'attaquant. L'Éternel, le juge, jugera aujourd'hui entre les fils d'Israël et les fils d'Ammon. |

So I have not sinned against thee, but it is thou who doest me wrong in making war against me. Jehovah, the Judge, be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon! |
Así que, yo nada he pecado contra ti, mas tú haces mal conmigo peleando contra mí. Jehová, que es el juez, juzgue hoy entre los hijos de Israel y los hijos de Amón. |

Howbeit the king of the children of Ammon hearkened not unto the words of Jephthah which he sent him. |
Et le roi des fils d'Ammon n'écouta pas les paroles que Jephthé lui avait envoyées. |

But the king of the children of Ammon hearkened not to the words of Jephthah that he had sent him. |

Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon. |
Et l'Esprit de l'Éternel fut sur Jephthé ; et il passa à travers Galaad et Manassé, et il passa par Mitspé de Galaad, et de Mitspé de Galaad, il passa vers les fils d'Ammon. |

Then the Spirit of Jehovah came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh, and passed to Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over to the children of Ammon. |

And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the Lord, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands, |

Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord’s, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering. |
il arrivera que ce qui sortira des portes de ma maison à ma rencontre, lorsque je reviendrai en paix des fils d'Ammon, sera à l'Éternel, et je l'offrirai en holocauste. |

then shall that which cometh forth from the door of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, be Jehovah's, and I will offer it up for a burnt-offering. |
cualquiera que saliere de las puertas de mi casa a recibirme, cuando regrese victorioso de los amonitas, será de Jehová, y lo ofreceré en holocausto. |

So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the Lord delivered them into his hands. |
Et Jephthé passa vers les fils d'Ammon pour combattre contre eux ; et l'Éternel les livra en sa main : |

And he smote them from Aroer, even till thou come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and unto the plain of the vineyards, with a very great slaughter. Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel. |
et il leur infligea une très-grande défaite, depuis Aroër jusqu'à ce que tu viennes à Minnith, [leur prenant] vingt villes, et jusqu'à Abel-Keramime ; et les fils d'Ammon furent humiliés devant les fils d'Israël. |

And he smote them from Aroer until thou come to Minnith, twenty cities, even unto Abel-Cheramim, with a very great slaughter; and the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel. |
Y desde Aroer hasta llegar a Minit, veinte ciudades, y hasta la vega de las viñas, los derrotó con muy grande estrago. Así fueron sometidos los amonitas por los hijos de Israel. |

And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter. |
Et Jephthé vint à Mitspa, dans sa maison ; et voici, sa fille sortit à sa rencontre avec des tambourins et des dansesf ; et elle était seule, unique : il n'avait, à part elle, ni fils ni fille. |

And Jephthah came to Mizpah to his house, and behold, his daughter came out to meet him with tambours and with dances; and she was an only child: besides her he had neither son nor daughter. |
Entonces volvió Jefté a Mizpa, a su casa; y he aquí su hija que salía a recibirle con panderos y danzas, y ella era sola, su hija única; no tenía fuera de ella hijo ni hija. |

And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the Lord, and I cannot go back. |
Et il arriva, quand il la vit, qu'il déchira ses vêtements, et dit : Ah, ma fille ! tu m'as accablé, et tu es de ceux qui me troublent ! car j'ai ouvert [ma] bouche à l'Éternel, et ne puis revenir en arrière. |

And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his garments, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me; for I have opened my mouth to Jehovah, and I cannot go back. |
Y cuando él la vio, rompió sus vestidos, diciendo: ¡Ay, hija mía! en verdad me has abatido, y tú misma has venido a ser causa de mi dolor; porque le he dado palabra a Jehová, y no podré retractarme.e |

And she said unto him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth unto the Lord, do to me according to that which hath proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as the Lord hath taken vengeance for thee of thine enemies, even of the children of Ammon. |
Et elle lui dit : Mon père, si tu as ouvert ta bouche à l'Éternel, fais-moi selon ce qui est sorti de ta bouche, après que l'Éternel t'a vengé de tes ennemis, les fils d'Ammon. |

And she said to him, My father, if thou hast opened thy mouth to Jehovah, do to me according to that which has proceeded out of thy mouth; forasmuch as Jehovah has taken vengeance for thee upon thine enemies, upon the children of Ammon. |
Ella entonces le respondió: Padre mío, si le has dado palabra a Jehová, haz de mí conforme a lo que prometiste, ya que Jehová ha hecho venganza en tus enemigos los hijos de Amón. |

And she said unto her father, Let this thing be done for me: let me alone two months, that I may go up and down upon the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my fellows. |
Et elle dit à son père : Que cette chose me soit faite : laisse-moi pendant deux mois, et je m'en irai, et je descendrai sur les montagnes, et je pleurerai ma virginité, moi et mes compagnes. |

And she said to her father, Let this thing be done for me: leave me alone two months, that I may go and descend to the mountains, and bewail my virginity, I and my companions. |
Y volvió a decir a su padre: Concédeme esto: déjame por dos meses que vaya y descienda por los montes, y llore mi virginidad, yo y mis compañeras. |
