And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there. |
☆ Et Josué, fils de Nun, envoya secrètement de Sittim deux espions, disant : Allez, voyez le pays et Jéricho. Et ils s'en allèrent, et vinrent dans la maison d'une prostituée, nommée Rahaba, et y couchèrent. |

And Joshua the son of Nun sent from Shittim two spies secretly, saying, Go, see the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into a harlot's house, named Rahab, and they lay down there. |
Josué hijo de Nun envió desde Sitim dos espías secretamente, diciéndoles: Andad, reconoced la tierra, y a Jericó. Y ellos fueron, y entraron en casa de una ramera que se llamaba Rahab,a y posaron allí. |

And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. |
Et on parla au roi de Jéricho, disant : Voici, des hommes d'entre les fils d'Israël sont venus ici cette nuit pour examiner le pays. |

And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, men have come hither to-night from the children of Israel to search out the land. |
Y fue dado aviso al rey de Jericó, diciendo: He aquí que hombres de los hijos de Israel han venido aquí esta noche para espiar la tierra. |

And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country. |
Et le roi de Jéricho envoya vers Rahab, disant : Fais sortir les hommes qui sont venus chez toi, qui sont entrés dans ta maison ; car ils sont venus pour examiner tout le pays. |

And the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that have come to thee, who have come into thy house: for they have come to search out all the land. |
Entonces el rey de Jericó envió a decir a Rahab: Saca a los hombres que han venido a ti, y han entrado a tu casa; porque han venido para espiar toda la tierra. |

And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were: |
Et la femme prit les deux hommes et les cacha ; et elle dit : Il est vrai, les hommes sont venus chez moi, et je ne savais pas d'où ils étaient ; |

And the woman had taken and concealed the two men; and she said, Yes, the men did come unto me, but I knew not whence they were; |
Pero la mujer había tomado a los dos hombres y los había escondido; y dijo: Es verdad que unos hombres vinieron a mí, pero no supe de dónde eran. |

And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. |
et comme la porte allait être fermée, dans les ténèbres, les hommes sont sortis ; je ne sais pas où ces hommes sont allés ; poursuivez-les en hâte, car vous les atteindrez. |

and it came to pass when the gate had to be closed, at dark, that the men went out: I know not whither the men have gone. Pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. |
Y cuando se iba a cerrar la puerta, siendo ya oscuro, esos hombres se salieron, y no sé a dónde han ido; seguidlos aprisa, y los alcanzaréis. |

But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. |
Or elle les avait fait monter sur le toit, et les avait cachés sous des tiges de lin qu'elle avait arrangées pour elle sur le toit. |

But she had taken them up to the roof, and secreted them under the stalks of flax, which she had laid out on the roof. |
Mas ella los había hecho subir al terrado, y los había escondido entre los manojos de lino que tenía puestos en el terrado. |

And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. |
Et les hommes les poursuivirent par le chemin du Jourdain, jusqu'aux gués ; et après que ceux qui les poursuivaient furent sortis, on ferma la porte. |

And the men pursued after them the way to the Jordan, to the fords; and when they who pursued after them had gone out, they closed the gate. |
Y los hombres fueron tras ellos por el camino del Jordán, hasta los vados; y la puerta fue cerrada después que salieron los perseguidores. |

And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof; |
Et, avant qu'ils se couchassent, elle monta vers les hommes sur le toit, |

And before they had lain down, she went up to them upon the roof; |
Antes que ellos se durmiesen, ella subió al terrado, y les dijo: |
| 9 |
And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. |
et leur dit : Je sais que l'Éternel vous a donné le pays, et que la terreur de votre [nom] est tombée sur nous, et que tous les habitants du pays se fondent devant vous ; |

and said to the men, I know that Jehovah has given you the land, and that the dread of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. |
Sé que Jehová os ha dado esta tierra; porque el temor de vosotros ha caído sobre nosotros, y todos los moradores del país ya han desmayado por causa de vosotros. |

For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. |
car nous avons entendu comment l'Éternel a mis à sec les eaux de la mer Rouge devant vous, lorsque vous sortiez d'Égypte, et ce que vous avez fait aux deux rois des Amoréens qui étaient au delà du Jourdain, à Sihon et à Og, que vous avez entièrement détruits. |

For we have heard that Jehovah dried up the waters of the Red sea before you when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did to the two kings of the Amorites that were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and to Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. |
Porque hemos oído que Jehová hizo secar las aguas del Mar Rojob delante de vosotros cuando salisteis de Egipto, y lo que habéis hecho a los dos reyes de los amorreos que estaban al otro lado del Jordán, a Sehón y a Og, a los cuales habéis destruido.c |

And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. |
Nous l'avons entendu, et notre cœur s'est fondu, et le courage d'aucun homme ne se soutient plus devant vous ; car l'Éternel, votre Dieu, est Dieu dans les cieux en haut, et sur la terre en bas. |

We heard of it , and our heart melted, and there remained no more spirit in any man because of you; for Jehovah your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath. |
Oyendo esto, ha desmayado nuestro corazón; ni ha quedado más aliento en hombre alguno por causa de vosotros, porque Jehová vuestro Dios es Dios arriba en los cielos y abajo en la tierra. |

Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father’s house, and give me a true token: |
Et maintenant, je vous prie, jurez-moi par l'Éternel, que, puisque j'ai usé de bonté envers vous, vous aussi vous userez de bonté envers la maison de mon père ; et vous me donnerez un signe certain que vous laisserez vivre mon père, |

And now, I pray you, swear to me by Jehovah, since I have dealt kindly with you, that ye will also deal kindly with my father's house, and give me a certain sign, |
Os ruego pues, ahora, que me juréis por Jehová, que como he hecho misericordia con vosotros, así la haréis vosotros con la casa de mi padre, de lo cual me daréis una señal segura; |

And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. |
et ma mère, et mes frères, et mes sœurs, et tous ceux qui sont à eux, et que vous sauverez nos âmes de la mort. |

that ye will let my father live, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that belong to them, and deliver our souls from death. |
y que salvaréis la vida a mi padre y a mi madre, a mis hermanos y hermanas, y a todo lo que es suyo; y que libraréis nuestras vidas de la muerte. |

And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the Lord hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee. |
Et les hommes lui dirent ; Nos vies payeront pour vous, si vous ne divulguez pas notreb affaire, et il arrivera que, lorsque l'Éternel nous aura donné le pays, nous userons de bonté et de vérité envers toi. |

And the men said to her, Our lives shall pay for yours, if ye do not make this our business known; and it shall be when Jehovah shall give us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee. |
Ellos le respondieron: Nuestra vida responderá por la vuestra, si no denunciareis este asunto nuestro; y cuando Jehová nos haya dado la tierra, nosotros haremos contigo misericordia y verdad. |

Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall. |
Et elle les fit descendre avec une corde par la fenêtre, car sa maison était sur la muraille du rempart, et elle habitait sur le rempart. |

And she let them down by a cord through the window; for her house was upon the city-wall, and she dwelt upon the wall. |
Entonces ella los hizo descender con una cuerda por la ventana; porque su casa estaba en el muro de la ciudad, y ella vivía en el muro. |

And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way. |
Et elle leur dit : Allez à la montagne, de peur que ceux qui [vous] poursuivent ne vous rencontrent ; et cachez-vous là trois jours, jusqu'à ce que ceux qui [vous] poursuivent soient de retour ; et après, vous irez votre chemin. |

And she said to them, Go to the mountain, that the pursuers may not meet with you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers have returned; and afterwards go your way. |
Y les dijo: Marchaos al monte, para que los que fueron tras vosotros no os encuentren; y estad escondidos allí tres días, hasta que los que os siguen hayan vuelto; y después os iréis por vuestro camino. |

And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear. |
Et les hommes lui dirent : Nous serons quittes de ce serment que tu nous as fait prêter. |

And the men said to her, We will be quit of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear. |
Y ellos le dijeron: Nosotros quedaremos libres de este juramento con que nos has juramentado. |

Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father’s household, home unto thee. |
Voici, nous allons entrer dans le pays ; tu attacheras ce cordon de fil écarlate à la fenêtre par laquelle tu nous as fait descendre, et tu rassembleras auprès de toi, dans la maison, ton père, et ta mère, et tes frères, et toute la maison de ton père. |

Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind in the window this line of scarlet thread by which thou hast let us down; and thou shalt gather to thee in the house thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household; |
He aquí, cuando nosotros entremos en la tierra, tú atarás este cordón de grana a la ventana por la cual nos descolgaste; y reunirás en tu casa a tu padre y a tu madre, a tus hermanos y a toda la familia de tu padre. |
| 19 |
And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him. |
Et il arrivera que quiconque sortira hors des portes de ta maison, son sang sera sur sa tête, et nous serons quittes ; mais quiconque sera avec toi dans la maison, son sang sera sur notre tête, si on met la main sur lui. |

and it shall be, that whoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, --his blood shall be upon his head, and we shall be innocent; but every one who shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be upon our head, if any hand be upon him. |
Cualquiera que saliere fuera de las puertas de tu casa, su sangre será sobre su cabeza, y nosotros sin culpa. Mas cualquiera que se estuviere en casa contigo, su sangre será sobre nuestra cabeza, si mano le tocare. |
| 20 |
And if thou utter this our business, then we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear. |
Et si tu divulgues notreb affaire, nous serons quittes du serment que tu nous as fait prêter. |

And if thou make known this our business, we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us swear. |
Y si tú denunciares este nuestro asunto, nosotros quedaremos libres de este tu juramento con que nos has juramentado. |

And she said, According unto your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window. |
Et elle dit : Qu'il en soit selon vos paroles. Et elle les renvoya, et ils s'en allèrent ; et elle attacha le cordon d'écarlate à la fenêtre. |

Ella respondió: Sea así como habéis dicho. Luego los despidió, y se fueron; y ella ató el cordón de grana a la ventana. |

And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not. |
Et ils s'en allèrent, et vinrent à la montagne, et demeurèrent là trois jours, jusqu'à ce que ceux qui les poursuivaient fussent de retour. Et ceux qui les poursuivaient cherchèrent par tout le chemin, et ils ne les trouvèrent pas. |

And they went, and came to the mountain, and remained there three days, until the pursuers had returned; and the pursuers sought them all the way, and found them not. |
Y caminando ellos, llegaron al monte y estuvieron allí tres días, hasta que volvieron los que los perseguían; y los que los persiguieron buscaron por todo el camino, pero no los hallaron. |

So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them: |
Et les deux hommes s'en retournèrent et descendirent de la montagne, et passèrent, et vinrent vers Josué, fils de Nun, et lui racontèrent tout ce qui leur était arrivé. |

And the two men returned and came down from the mountain, and went over and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and related to him everything that had happened to them. |
Entonces volvieron los dos hombres; descendieron del monte, y pasaron, y vinieron a Josué hijo de Nun, y le contaron todas las cosas que les habían acontecido. |

And they said unto Joshua, Truly the Lord hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us. |
Et ils dirent à Josué : Oui, l'Éternel a livré tout le pays en nos mains ; et aussi tous les habitants du pays se fondent devant nous. |

And they said to Joshua, Of a surety Jehovah has given the whole land into our hands, and even all the inhabitants of the land faint because of us. |
Y dijeron a Josué: Jehová ha entregado toda la tierra en nuestras manos; y también todos los moradores del país desmayan delante de nosotros. |
