Allons, s'il te plaît, jusqu'au Jourdain, et nous y prendrons chacun une pièce de bois, et nous y bâtironsb un lieu pour y habiter. Et il dit : Allez. |

So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. |

But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. |
Et il arriva, comme l'un d'eux abattait une pièce de bois, que le fer tomba dans l'eau ; et il s'écria et dit : Hélas, mon maître ! il était emprunté ! |

And it came to pass as one was felling a beam, that the iron fell into the water; and he cried and said, Alas, master, and it was borrowed! |
Y aconteció que mientras uno derribaba un árbol, se le cayó el hacha en el agua; y gritó diciendo: ¡Ah, señor mío, era prestada! |

And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. |
Et l'homme de Dieu dit : Où est-il tombé ? Et il lui montra l'endroit ; et [Élisée] coupa un morceau de bois, et l'y jeta, et fit surnager le fer ; |

And the man of God said, Where did it fall? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither, and made the iron to swim. |
El varón de Dios preguntó: ¿Dónde cayó? Y él le mostró el lugar. Entonces cortó él un palo, y lo echó allí; e hizo flotar el hierro. |

Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it. |

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp. |

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. |
Et l'homme de Dieu envoya au roi d'Israël, disant : Garde-toi de passer par ce lieu-là ; car les Syriens y sont descendus. |

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice. |
Et le roi d'Israël envoya au lieu au sujet duquel l'homme de Dieu lui avait parlé et l'avait averti, et il y fut gardé. [Cela eut lieu] non pas une fois, ni deux fois. |

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and he was on his guard there. That took place not once, nor twice. |
Entonces el rey de Israel envió a aquel lugar que el varón de Dios había dicho; y así lo hizo una y otra vez con el fin de cuidarse. |

Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel? |
Et le cœur du roi de Syrie fut agité à cause de cela ; et il appela ses serviteurs, et leur dit : Ne me déclarerez-vous pas qui d'entre nous est pour le roi d'Israël ? |

And the heart of the king of Syria was troubled because of this thing; and he called his servants, and said to them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel? |
Y el corazón del rey de Siria se turbó por esto; y llamando a sus siervos, les dijo: ¿No me declararéis vosotros quién de los nuestros es del rey de Israel? |

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. |
Et l'un de ses serviteurs [lui] dit : Personne, ô roi, mon seigneur ! mais Élisée, le prophète qui est en Israël, déclare au roi d'Israël les paroles que tu dis dans ta chambre à coucher. |

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. |
Entonces uno de los siervos dijo: No, rey señor mío, sino que el profeta Eliseo está en Israel, el cual declara al rey de Israel las palabras que tú hablas en tu cámara más secreta. |

And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. |
Et il dit : Allez, et voyez où il est, et j'enverrai et je le prendrai. Et on lui rapporta, disant : Le voilà à Dothan. |

Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. |

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? |
Et celui qui servait l'homme de Dieu se leva de bon matin et sortit : et voici, une armée entourait la ville, et des chevaux, et des chars. Et son jeune homme lui dit : Hélas ! mon seigneur, comment ferons-nous ? |

And when the attendant of the man of God rose early and went forth, behold, an army surrounded the city, with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? |
Y se levantó de mañana y salió el que servía al varón de Dios, y he aquí el ejército que tenía sitiada la ciudad, con gente de a caballo y carros. Entonces su criado le dijo: ¡Ah, señor mío! ¿qué haremos? |

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. |
Et il dit : Ne crains pas ; car ceux qui sont avec nous sont en plus grand nombre que ceux qui sont avec eux. |

And he said, Fear not, for they that are with us are more than they that are with them. |
Él le dijo: No tengas miedo, porque más son los que están con nosotros que los que están con ellos. |

And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. |
Et Élisée pria, et dit : Éternel, je te prie, ouvre ses yeux, afin qu'il voie. Et l'Éternel ouvrit les yeux du jeune homme, et il vit : et voici la montagne était pleine de chevaux et de chars de feu autour d'Élisée. |

And Elisha prayed and said, Jehovah, I pray thee, open his eyes that he may see. And Jehovah opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw; and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. |
Y oró Eliseo, y dijo: Te ruego, oh Jehová, que abras sus ojos para que vea. Entonces Jehová abrió los ojos del criado, y miró; y he aquí que el monte estaba lleno de gente de a caballo, y de carros de fuego alrededor de Eliseo. |

And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. |
Et [les Syriens] descendirent vers Élisée ; et il pria l'Éternel, et dit : Je te prie, frappe cette nation de cécité. Et il les frappa de cécité, selon la parole d'Élisée. |

And they came down to him; and Elisha prayed to Jehovah and said, Smite this nation, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. |
Y luego que los sirios descendieron a él, oró Eliseo a Jehová, y dijo: Te ruego que hieras con ceguera a esta gente. Y los hirió con ceguera, conforme a la petición de Eliseo. |

And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria. |
Et Élisée leur dit : Ce n'est pas ici le chemin, et ce n'est pas ici la ville ; venez après moi, et je vous mènerai vers l'homme que vous cherchez. Et il les mena à Samarie. |

And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. And he led them to Samaria. |
Después les dijo Eliseo: No es este el camino, ni es esta la ciudad; seguidme, y yo os guiaré al hombre que buscáis. Y los guio a Samaria. |

And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria. |
Et il arriva, quand ils furent entrés à Samarie, qu'Élisée dit : Éternel, ouvre les yeux à ces [hommes], afin qu'ils voient. Et l'Éternel ouvrit leurs yeux, et ils virent : et voici, [ils étaient] au milieu de Samarie. |

And it came to pass when they entered into Samaria, that Elisha said, Jehovah, open the eyes of these men that they may see. And Jehovah opened their eyes, and they saw, and behold, they were in the midst of Samaria. |
Y cuando llegaron a Samaria, dijo Eliseo: Jehová, abre los ojos de estos, para que vean. Y Jehová abrió sus ojos, y miraron, y se hallaban en medio de Samaria. |

And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them? |
Et le roi d'Israël dit à Élisée, quand il les vit : Frapperai-je, frapperai-je, mon père ? |

And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master. |
Et il dit : Tu ne frapperas point ; ceux que tu aurais faits captifs avec ton épée et ton arc, les frapperais-tu ? Mets du pain et de l'eau devant eux ; et qu'ils mangent et boivent, et qu'ils s'en aillent vers leur seigneur. |

And he said, Thou shalt not smite them : wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master. |
Él le respondió: No los mates. ¿Matarías tú a los que tomaste cautivos con tu espada y con tu arco? Pon delante de ellos pan y agua, para que coman y beban, y vuelvan a sus señores. |

And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel. |
Et il leur prépara un grand festin, et ils mangèrent et burent ; et il les renvoya, et ils s'en allèrent vers leur seigneur. Et les bandes des Syriens ne revinrent plus dans le pays d'Israël. |

And he prepared a great repast for them, and they ate and drank; and he sent them away, and they went to their master. And the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel. |
Entonces se les preparó una gran comida; y cuando habían comido y bebido, los envió, y ellos se volvieron a su señor. Y nunca más vinieron bandas armadas de Siria a la tierra de Israel. |

And it came to pass after this, that Ben–hadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. |
Et il arriva, après cela, que Ben-Hadad, roi de Syrie, rassembla toute son arméec, et monta, et assiégea Samarie. |

And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver. |
Et il y eut une grande famine dans Samarie ; et voici, ils la serraient de près, jusqu'à ce que la tête d'un âne fut à quatre-vingts [sicles] d'argent, et le quart d'un kab de fiente de pigeon à cinq [sicles] d'argent. |

And there was a great famine in Samaria; and behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was worth eighty silver-pieces, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung five silver-pieces. |
Y hubo gran hambre en Samaria, a consecuencia de aquel sitio; tanto que la cabeza de un asno se vendía por ochenta piezas de plata, y la cuarta parte de un cab de estiércol de palomas por cinco piezas de plata. |

And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. |
Et il arriva, comme le roi d'Israël passait sur la muraille, qu'une femme lui cria, disant : Sauve-moi, ô roi, mon seigneur ! |

And he said, If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress? |
Et il dit : Si l'Éternel ne te sauve pas, comment te sauverais-je ? Serait-ce au moyen de l'aire ou de la cuve ? |

And he said, If Jehovah do not help thee, whence should I help thee? Out of the threshing-floor, or out of the winepress? |
Y él dijo: Si no te salva Jehová, ¿de dónde te puedo salvar yo? ¿Del granero, o del lagar? |

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. |
Et le roi lui dit : Qu'as-tu ? Et elle dit : Cette femme-là m'a dit : Donne ton fils, et nous le mangerons aujourd'hui ; et demain nous mangerons mon fils. |

And the king said to her, What aileth thee? And she said, This woman said to me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to-day, and we will eat my son to-morrow. |
Y le dijo el rey: ¿Qué tienes? Ella respondió: Esta mujer me dijo: Da acá tu hijo, y comámoslo hoy, y mañana comeremos el mío. |

So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son. |
Et nous avons bouilli mon fils, et nous l'avons mangé ; et le jour après, je lui ai dit : Donne ton fils, et nous le mangerons. Et elle a caché son fils. |

And we boiled my son, and ate him: and I said to her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him; and she has hidden her son. |
Cocimos, pues, a mi hijo, y lo comimos.a El día siguiente yo le dije: Da acá tu hijo, y comámoslo. Mas ella ha escondido a su hijo. |

And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh. |
Et aussitôt que le roi entendit les paroles de la femme, il déchira ses vêtements. Et comme il passait sur la muraille, le peuple le vit : et voici, il avait un sac sur sa chair, en dedans. |

And it came to pass when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his garments; and he was passing by upon the wall, and the people looked, and behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh. |
Cuando el rey oyó las palabras de aquella mujer, rasgó sus vestidos, y pasó así por el muro; y el pueblo vio el cilicio que traía interiormente sobre su cuerpo. |

Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day. |
Et [le roi] dit : Ainsi Dieu me fasse, et ainsi il y ajoute, si la tête d'Élisée, fils de Shaphath, demeure sur lui aujourd'hui ! |

Y él dijo: Así me haga Dios, y aun me añada, si la cabeza de Eliseo hijo de Safat queda sobre él hoy. |

But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him? |
Et Élisée était assis dans sa maison, et les anciens étaient assis avec lui, et [le roi] envoya un homme devant lui. Avant que le messager arrivât auprès de lui, [Élisée] dit aux anciens : Voyez-vous que ce fils d'un meurtrier envoie pour m'ôter la tête ? Voyez quand le messager entrera ; fermez la porte, et repoussez-le avec la porte : n'est-ce pas le bruit des pieds de son maître après lui ? |

And Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him. And the king sent a man before him. Before the messenger came to him, he himself said to the elders, Do ye see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? See, when the messenger comes; shut the door, and keep him off with the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him? |
Y Eliseo estaba sentado en su casa, y con él estaban sentados los ancianos; y el rey envió a él un hombre. Mas antes que el mensajero viniese a él, dijo él a los ancianos: ¿No habéis visto cómo este hijo de homicida envía a cortarme la cabeza? Mirad, pues, y cuando viniere el mensajero, cerrad la puerta, e impedidle la entrada. ¿No se oye tras él el ruido de los pasos de su amo? |

And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the Lord; what should I wait for the Lord any longer? |
Il parlait encore avec eux, quand voici, le messager descendit vers lui. Et [le roi] dit : Voici, ce mal est de par l'Éternel ; pourquoi m'attendrais-je encore à l'Éternel ? |

And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down to him. And the king said, Behold, this evil is of Jehovah: why should I wait for Jehovah any longer? |
Aún estaba él hablando con ellos, y he aquí el mensajero que descendía a él; y dijo: Ciertamente este mal de Jehová viene. ¿Para qué he de esperar más a Jehová? |
