Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. |

Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. |

And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father did. |

He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. |
Il ôta les hauts lieux, et brisa les statuesb, et coupa les ashères, et mit en pièces le serpent d'airain que Moïse avait fait, car jusqu'à ces jours-là les fils d'Israël lui brûlaient de l'encens ; et il l'appela : Nehushtanc. |

He removed the high places, and broke the columns, and cut down the Asherahs, and broke in pieces the serpent of brass that Moses had made; for to those days the children of Israel burned incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. |

He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. |
Il mit sa confiance en l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël ; et après lui, il n'y en eut point de semblable à lui parmi tous les rois de Juda, non plus que parmi ceux qui avaient été avant lui. |

For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses. |

And the Lord was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not. |

And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it. |
Et il arriva, la quatrième année du roi Ézéchias, qui était la septième d'Osée, fils d'Éla, roi d'Israël, que Shalmanéser, roi d'Assyrie, monta contre Samarie et l'assiégea.e |

And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea the son of Elah, king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria and besieged it. |

And at the end of three years they took it: even in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken. |
Et ils la prirent au bout de trois ans : la sixième année d'Ézéchias, ce fut la neuvième année d'Osée, roi d'Israël, Samarie fut prise. |

And at the end of three years they took it; in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is, the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taken. |

And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria, and put them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes: |
Et le roi d'Assyrie transporta Israël en Assyrie, et les établit à Khalakh, et sur le Khabor, fleuve de Gozan, et dans les villes des Mèdes, |

And the king of Assyria carried away Israel to Assyria, and settled them in Halah and by the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes; |
Y el rey de Asiria llevó cautivo a Israel a Asiria, y los puso en Halah, en Habor junto al río Gozán, y en las ciudades de los medos; |

Because they obeyed not the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them. |
parce qu'ils n'écoutèrent point la voix de l'Éternel, leur Dieu, et transgressèrent son alliance, tout ce que Moïse, serviteur de l'Éternel, avait commandé ; et ils n'écoutèrent pas, et ne le firent pas. |

because they hearkened not to the voice of Jehovah their God, but transgressed his covenant, all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded; and they would not hear nor do it. |

Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them. |
Et la quatorzième année du roi Ézéchias, Sankhérib, roi d'Assyrie, monta contre toutes les villes fortes de Juda et les prit.f |

And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold. |
Et Ézéchias, roi de Juda, envoya au roi d'Assyrie à Lakis, disant : J'ai péché, retire-toi de moi ; ce que tu m'imposeras, je le supporterai. Et le roi d'Assyrie imposa à Ézéchias, roi de Juda, trois cents talents d'argent, et trente talents d'or. |

And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have sinned; retire from me: I will bear what thou layest upon me. And the king of Assyria laid upon Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold. |
Entonces Ezequías rey de Judá envió a decir al rey de Asiria que estaba en Laquis: Yo he pecado; apártate de mí, y haré todo lo que me impongas. Y el rey de Asiria impuso a Ezequías rey de Judá trescientos talentos de plata, y treinta talentos de oro. |

And Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king’s house. |

At that time did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the Lord, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria. |
En temps-là, Ézéchias dépouilla les portes du temple de l'Éternel, et les piliers qu'Ézéchias, roi de Juda, avait recouverts [d'or], et il les donna au roi d'Assyrie. |

At that time Hezekiah stripped the doors of the temple of Jehovah, and the posts that Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave them to the king of Assyria. |
Entonces Ezequías quitó el oro de las puertas del templo de Jehová y de los quiciales que el mismo rey Ezequías había cubierto de oro, y lo dio al rey de Asiria. |

And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rab–shakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the conduit of the upper pool, which is in the highway of the fuller’s field. |
Et le roi d'Assyrie envoya de Lakis, le Tharthan, et le Rab-Saris, et le Rab-Shakég, avec de grandes forces, vers le roi Ézéchias à Jérusalem ; et ils montèrent et vinrent à Jérusalem. Et ils montèrent et vinrent, et se tinrent près de l'aqueduc de l'étang supérieur, qui est sur la route du champ du foulon. Et ils appelèrent le roi. |

And the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rab-shakeh from Lachish, with a strong force, against king Hezekiah, to Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem. And when they were come up, they came and stood by the aqueduct of the upper pool, which is on the highway of the fuller's field. |
Después el rey de Asiria envió contra el rey Ezequías al Tartán, al Rabsaris y al Rabsaces, con un gran ejército, desde Laquis contra Jerusalén, y subieron y vinieron a Jerusalén. And when they had called to the king, there came out to them Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder. |
Et Éliakim, fils de Hilkija, qui était [préposé] sur la maison [du roi], et Shebna, le scribe, et Joakh, fils d'Asaph, rédacteur des chroniques, sortirent vers eux. |

And they called to the king. Then came forth to them Eliakim the son of Hilkijah, who was over the household, and Shebnah the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the chronicler. |
Llamaron luego al rey, y salió a ellos Eliaquim hijo de Hilcías, mayordomo, y Sebna escriba, y Joa hijo de Asaf, canciller. |

And Rab–shakeh said unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest? |
Et le Rab-Shaké leur dit : Dites à Ézéchias : Ainsi dit le grand roi, le roi d'Assyrie : Quelle est cette confiance que tu ash ? |

And Rab-shakeh said to them, Say now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: What confidence is this wherein thou trustest? |
Y les dijo el Rabsaces: Decid ahora a Ezequías: Así dice el gran rey de Asiria: ¿Qué confianza es esta en que te apoyas? |

Thou sayest, (but they are but vain words,) I have counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me? |
Tu dis (ce ne sont que paroles des lèvres) : Le conseil et la force [sont là] pour la guerre. Maintenant, en qui te confies-tu que tu te révoltes contre moi ? |

Thou sayest--but it is a word of the lips--There is counsel and strength for war. Now on whom dost thou rely, that thou hast revolted against me? |
Dices (pero son palabras vacías): Consejo tengo y fuerzas para la guerra. Mas ¿en qué confías, que te has rebelado contra mí? |

Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him. |
Or voici, tu te confies en ce bâton de roseau cassé, en l'Égypte, lequel, si quelqu'un s'appuie dessus, lui entre dans la main et la perce. Tel est le Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui. |

Now behold, thou reliest upon the staff of that broken reed, upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it goes into his hand and pierces it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that rely upon him. |
He aquí que confías en este báculo de caña cascada, en Egipto, en el cual si alguno se apoyare, se le entrará por la mano y la traspasará. Tal es Faraón rey de Egipto para todos los que en él confían. |

But if ye say unto me, We trust in the Lord our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem? |
Que si vous me dites : Nous nous confions en l'Éternel, notre Dieu,… n'est-ce pas lui dont Ézéchias a ôté les hauts lieux et les autels, en disant à Juda et à Jérusalem : Vous vous prosternerez devant cet autel-ci à Jérusalem ? |

And if ye say to me, We rely upon Jehovah our God: is it not he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has removed, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem? |
Y si me decís: Nosotros confiamos en Jehová nuestro Dios, ¿no es este aquel cuyos lugares altos y altares ha quitado Ezequías, y ha dicho a Judá y a Jerusalén: Delante de este altar adoraréis en Jerusalén? |

Now therefore, I pray thee, give pledges to my lord the king of Assyria, and I will deliver thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them. |
Et maintenant, fais un accord, je te prie, avec le roi d'Assyrie, mon seigneur, et je te donnerai deux mille chevaux si tu peux donner des cavaliers pour les monter. |

And now, engage, I pray thee, with my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou canst set the riders upon them. |

How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen? |
Et comment ferais-tu tourner visage à un seul capitainei d'entre les moindres serviteurs de mon seigneur ? Et tu mets ta confiance en l'Égypte, pour des chars et des cavaliers…. |

Am I now come up without the Lord against this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it. |
Suis-je maintenant monté sans l'Éternel contre ce lieu pour le détruire ? L'Éternel m'a dit : Monte contre ce pays, et détruis-le. |

Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebna, and Joah, unto Rab–shakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and talk not with us in the Jews’ language in the ears of the people that are on the wall. |
Et Éliakim, fils de Hilkija, et Shebna, et Joakh, dirent au Rab-Shaké : Parle, nous te prions, à tes serviteurs en syriaquej, car nous le comprenons, et ne nous parle pas en [langue] judaïque, aux oreilles du peuple qui est sur la muraille. |

And Eliakim the son of Hilkijah, and Shebnah and Joah said to Rab-shakeh, Speak, we pray thee, to thy servants in Syriac, for we understand it, and talk not with us in the Jewish language in the ears of the people that are on the wall. |
Entonces dijo Eliaquim hijo de Hilcías, y Sebna y Joa, al Rabsaces: Te rogamos que hables a tus siervos en arameo, porque nosotros lo entendemos, y no hables con nosotros en lengua de Judá a oídos del pueblo que está sobre el muro. |

But Rab–shakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you? |
Et le Rab-Shaké leur dit : Est-ce vers ton seigneur et vers toi que mon seigneur m'a envoyé pour dire ces paroles ? N'est-ce pas vers les hommes qui se tiennent sur la muraille, pour manger leurs excréments et pour boire leur urine avec vous ? |

And Rab-shakeh said to them, Is it to thy master and to thee that my master sent me to speak these words? Is it not to the men that sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you? |
Y el Rabsaces les dijo: ¿Me ha enviado mi señor para decir estas palabras a ti y a tu señor, y no a los hombres que están sobre el muro, expuestos a comer su propio estiércol y beber su propia orina con vosotros? |

Then Rab–shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and spake, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria: |
Et le Rab-Shaké se tint là, et cria à haute voix en [langue] judaïque, et parla, et dit : Écoutez la parole du grand roi, le roi d'Assyrie. |

And Rab-shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jewish language , and spoke and said, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria! |
Entonces el Rabsaces se puso en pie y clamó a gran voz en lengua de Judá, y habló diciendo: Oíd la palabra del gran rey, el rey de Asiria. |

Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you out of his hand: |
Ainsi dit le roi : Qu'Ézéchias ne vous trompe point ; car il ne pourra pas vous délivrer de la main du roik. |

Thus says the king: Let not Hezekiah deceive you; for he will not be able to deliver you out of the king's hand. |
Así ha dicho el rey: No os engañe Ezequías, porque no os podrá librar de mi mano. |

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria. |
Et qu'Ézéchias ne vous fasse pas mettre votre confiance en l'Éternel, disant : L'Éternel nous délivrera certainement, et cette ville ne sera point livrée en la main du roi d'Assyrie. |

Neither let Hezekiah make you rely upon Jehovah, saying, Jehovah will certainly deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria. |
Y no os haga Ezequías confiar en Jehová, diciendo: Ciertamente nos librará Jehová, y esta ciudad no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria. |

Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me, and then eat ye every man of his own vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his cistern: |
N'écoutez pas Ézéchias ; car ainsi dit le roi d'Assyrie : Faites la paixl avec moi, et sortez vers moi ; et vous mangerez chacun de sa vigne et chacun de son figuier, et vous boirez chacun des eaux de son puits, |

Hearken not to Hezekiah; for thus says the king of Assyria: Make peace with me, and come out to me; and eat every one of his vine and every one of his fig-tree, and drink every one the waters of his own cistern; |
No escuchéis a Ezequías, porque así dice el rey de Asiria: Haced conmigo paz, y salid a mí, y coma cada uno de su vid y de su higuera, y beba cada uno las aguas de su pozo, |

Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die: and hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuadeth you, saying, The Lord will deliver us. |
jusqu'à ce que je vienne et que je vous emmènem dans un pays comme votre pays, un pays de blé et de moût, un pays de pain et de vignes, un pays d'oliviers à huile et de miel : et vous vivrez, et vous ne mourrez point. Et n'écoutez pas Ézéchias, car il vous séduit, disant : L'Éternel nous délivrera. |

until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive-trees and of honey, that ye may live and not die; and hearken not to Hezekiah, when he persuades you, saying, Jehovah will deliver us. |
hasta que yo venga y os lleve a una tierra como la vuestra, tierra de grano y de vino, tierra de pan y de viñas, tierra de olivas, de aceite, y de miel; y viviréis, y no moriréis. No oigáis a Ezequías, porque os engaña cuando dice: Jehová nos librará. |

But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment was, saying, Answer him not. |

Then came Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and told him the words of Rab–shakeh. |
