O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? |

This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? |

This only I wish to learn of you, Have ye received the Spirit on the principle of works of law, or of the report of faith? |

Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? |

Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. |

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? |
Celui donc qui vous fournit l'Esprit et qui opère des miracles au milieu de vous, [le fait-il] sur le principe des œuvres de loi, ou de l'ouïe de [la] foi ? |
El que os suministra el Espíritu, y hace milagros entre vosotros, ¿lo hace por obras de la ley, o por el oír con fe? |

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. |

Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. |

Know then that they that are on the principle of faith, these are Abraham's sons; |

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. |
Or l'écriture, prévoyant que Dieu justifierait les nations sur le principe de [la] foi, a d'avance annoncé la bonne nouvelle à Abraham : «En toi toutes les nations seront bénies» [Genèse 12:3]. |

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. |

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. |
Car tous ceux qui sont sur le principe des œuvres de loi sont sous malédiction ; car il est écrit : «Maudit est quiconque ne persévère pas dans toutes les choses qui sont écrites dans le livre de la loi pour les faire» [Deutéronome 27:26]. |

For as many as are on the principle of works of law are under curse. For it is written, Cursed is every one who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them; |

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. |
Or que par [la] loi personne ne soit justifié devant Dieu, cela est évident, parce que : «Le juste vivra dec foi» [Habakuk 2:4]. |
Y que por ley nadie es justificado ante Dios, es evidente, porque: «El justo vivirá por la fe;» [Habacuc 2:4] |
but that by law no one is justified with God is evident, because The just shall live on the principle of faith; |

And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. |
Mais la loi n'est pas sur le principe de [la] foi, mais : «Celui qui aura fait ces choses vivra par elles» [Lévitique 18:5]. |

but the law is not on the principle of faith; but, He that shall have done these things shall live by them. |

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: |

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. |

Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. |
Frères, je parle selon l'homme : personne n'annule une alliance qui est confirmée, même [celle] d'un homme, ni n'y ajoute. |
Hermanos, hablo según normas humanas: Cuando un pacto, incluso el de un hombre, ha sido confirmado, nadie puede anularlo ni añadirle. |
Brethren, (I speak according to man,) even man's confirmed covenant no one sets aside, or adds other dispositions to. |

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. |
Or c'est à Abraham que les promesses ont été faites, et à sa semence. Il ne dit pas : «et aux semences», comme [parlant] de plusieurs ; mais comme [parlant] d'un seul : — «et à ta semence» [Genèse 22:18], qui est Christ. |
Ahora bien, a Abraham fueron hechas las promesas, y a su descendencia. No dice: A las descendencias, como si hablara de muchos, sino hablando de uno solo: «A tu descendencia,» [Génesis 22:18] que es Cristo. |
But to Abraham were the promises addressed, and to his seed: he does not say, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed; which is Christ. |
Ahora bien, a Abraham fueron hechas las promesas, y a su simiente. No dice: Y a las simientes, como si hablase de muchos, sino como de uno: Y a tu simiente,h la cual es Cristo. |

And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. |
Or je dis ceci : que la loi, qui est survenue quatre cent trente ans après, n'annule point une alliance antérieurement confirmée par Dieu, de manière à rendre la promesse sans effet. |
Y esto digo: La ley que llegó cuatrocientos treinta años más tarde, no anula un pacto previamente ratificado por Dios, para invalidar la promesa. |
Now I say this, A covenant confirmed beforehand by God, the law, which took place four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect. |
Esto, pues, digo: El pacto previamente ratificado por Dios para con Cristo, la ley que vino cuatrocientos treinta años después,i no lo abroga, para invalidar la promesa. |

For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. |
Car si l'héritage est sur le principe de loi, il n'est plus sur le principe de promesse ; mais Dieu a fait le don à Abraham par promesse. |
Porque si la herencia es por una ley, ya no es por la promesa; pero Dios la concedió a Abraham mediante la promesa. |
For if the inheritance be on the principle of law, it is no longer on the principle of promise; but God gave it in grace to Abraham by promise. |

Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. |
Pourquoi donc la loi ? Elle a été ajoutée à cause des transgressionse, jusqu'à ce que vînt la semence à laquelle la promesse est faite, ayant été ordonnéef par des angesg, par la main d'un médiateurh. |
¿Por qué, pues, la ley? Fue añadida a causa de las transgresiones, hasta que llegara la descendencia a quien fue hecha la promesa; y fue dada mediante ángeles, por mano de un mediador. |
Why then the law? It was added for the sake of transgressions, until the seed came to whom the promise was made, ordained through angels in the hand of a mediator. |
Entonces, ¿para qué sirve la ley? Fue añadida a causa de las transgresiones, hasta que viniese la simiente a quien fue hecha la promesa; y fue ordenada por medio de ángeles en mano de un mediador. |

Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. |

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. |
La loi est-elle donc contre les promesses de Dieu ? Qu'ainsi n'advienne ! Car s'il avait été donné une loi qui eût le pouvoir de faire vivre, la justice serait en réalité sur le principe de [la] loi. |
Entonces, ¿la ley se opone a las promesas? ¡De ninguna manera! Porque si hubiera sido dada una ley capaz de dar vida, la justicia sería ciertamente por la ley. |
Is then the law against the promises of God? Far be the thought. For if a law had been given able to quicken, then indeed righteousness were on the principle of law; |
¿Luego la ley es contraria a las promesas de Dios? En ninguna manera; porque si la ley dada pudiera vivificar, la justicia fuera verdaderamente por la ley. |

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. |
Mais l'écriture a renfermé toutes choses sous le péché, afin que la promesse, sur le principe de [la] foi en Jésus Christ, fût donnée à ceux qui croient. |

but the scripture has shut up all things under sin, that the promise, on the principle of faith of Jesus Christ, should be given to those that believe. |

But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. |

But before faith came, we were guarded under law, shut up to faith which was about to be revealed. |

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. |

So that the law has been our tutor up to Christ, that we might be justified on the principle of faith. |

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. |

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. |

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. |

And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. |
