And Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about. |
☆ Et Salomon s'allia par mariage avec le Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et prit [pour femme] la fille du Pharaon ; et il l'amena dans la ville de David, jusqu'à ce qu'il eût achevé de bâtir sa maison, et la maison de l'Éternel, et la muraille de Jérusalem, tout à l'entour. |

And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. |

In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. |
L'Éternel apparut à Salomon, à Gabaon, dans un songe de la nuit. Et Dieu dit : Demande ce que tu veux que je te donnea. |

And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. |
Et Salomon dit : Tu as usé d'une grande bonté envers ton serviteur David, mon père, selon qu'il a marché devant toi en vérité et en justice, et en droiture de cœur avec toi ; et tu lui as gardé cette grande bonté, et tu lui as donné un fils qui est assis sur son trône, comme [il en est] aujourd'hui. |

And Solomon said, Thou hast shewn unto thy servant David my father great loving-kindness, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great loving-kindness, that thou hast given him a son who sits upon his throne, as it is this day. |
Y Salomón dijo: Tú hiciste gran misericordia a tu siervo David mi padre, porque él anduvo delante de ti en verdad, en justicia, y con rectitud de corazón para contigo; y tú le has reservado esta tu gran misericordia, en que le diste hijo que se sentase en su trono, como sucede en este día. |

And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. |
Et maintenant, Éternel, mon Dieu, tu as fait roi ton serviteur en la place de David, mon père, et moi, je suis un jeune garçon, je ne sais pas sortir et entrer ; |

Ahora pues, Jehová Dios mío, tú me has puesto a mí tu siervo por rey en lugar de David mi padre; y yo soy joven, y no sé cómo entrar ni salir. |

And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. |
et ton serviteur est au milieu de ton peuple, que tu as choisi, un peuple nombreux, qui ne se peut compter ni nombrer à cause de [sa] multitude. |

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? |
Donne donc à ton serviteur un cœur qui écouteb, pour juger ton peuple, pour discerner entre le bien et le mal ; car qui est capable de juger ton si grand peuple ? |

Give therefore to thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, to discern between good and bad; for who is able to judge this thy numerous people? |
Da, pues, a tu siervo corazón entendido para juzgar a tu pueblo, y para discernir entre lo bueno y lo malo; porque ¿quién podrá gobernar este tu pueblo tan grande? |

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. |
Et la parole fut bonne aux yeux du Seigneur, que Salomon eût demandé cette chose. |

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; |
Et Dieu lui dit : Parce que tu as demandé cela, et que tu n'as pas demandé pour toi de longs jours, et que tu n'as pas demandé pour toi des richesses, et que tu n'as pas demandé la vie de tes ennemis, mais que tu as demandé pour toi du discernement afin de comprendrec le juste jugement, |

And God said to him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life, neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies, but hast asked for thyself discernment to understand judgment; |
Y le dijo Dios: Porque has demandado esto, y no pediste para ti muchos días, ni pediste para ti riquezas, ni pediste la vida de tus enemigos, sino que demandaste para ti inteligencia para oír juicio, |

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. |
voici, j'ai fait selon ta parole ; voici, je t'ai donné un cœur sage et intelligent, en sorte qu'il n'y aura eu personne comme toi, avant toi, et qu'après toi il ne se lèvera personne comme toi. |

he aquí lo he hecho conforme a tus palabras; he aquí que te he dado corazón sabio y entendido, tanto que no ha habido antes de ti otro como tú, ni después de ti se levantará otro como tú. |

And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. |
Et je t'ai donné aussi ce que tu n'as pas demandé, tant les richesses que la gloire, de sorte qu'il n'y aura personne comme toi parmi les rois, tous tes jours. |

And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days. |
Et si tu marches dans mes voies, gardant mes statuts et mes commandements, comme David, ton père, a marché, alors je prolongerai tes jours. |

And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants. |
Et Salomon se réveilla, et voici, [c'était] un songe. Et il vint à Jérusalem, et se tint devant l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel, et offrit des holocaustes, et offritd des sacrifices de prospérités, et fit un festin à tous ses serviteurs. |

Cuando Salomón despertó, vio que era sueño; y vino a Jerusalén, y se presentó delante del arca del pacto de Jehová, y sacrificó holocaustos y ofreció sacrificios de paz, e hizo también banquete a todos sus siervos. |

Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. |

And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. |
Et la première femme dit : Ah, mon seigneur ! moi et cette femme nous habitions la même maison, et j'accouchai, étant avec elle dans la maison. |

Y dijo una de ellas: ¡Ah, señor mío! Yo y esta mujer morábamos en una misma casa, y yo di a luz estando con ella en la casa. |

And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. |
Et il arriva, le troisième jour après que j'eus accouché, que cette femme aussi accoucha. Et nous étions ensemble ; aucun étranger n'était avec nous dans la maison, il n'y avait que nous deux dans la maison. |

And it came to pass the third day after I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also; and we were together; no stranger was with us in the house, only we two were in the house. |
Aconteció al tercer día después de dar yo a luz, que esta dio a luz también, y morábamos nosotras juntas; ninguno de fuera estaba en casa, sino nosotras dos en la casa. |

And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it. |
Et le fils de cette femme mourut dans la nuit, parce qu'elle s'était couchée sur lui. |

And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. |
Et elle se leva au milieu de la nuit, et prit mon fils d'à côté de moi, pendant que ta servante dormait, et le coucha dans son sein ; et son fils, qui était mort, elle le coucha dans mon sein. |

And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thy handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead son in my bosom. |
Y se levantó a medianoche y tomó a mi hijo de junto a mí, estando yo tu sierva durmiendo, y lo puso a su lado, y puso al lado mío su hijo muerto. |

And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear. |
Et je me levai le matin pour donner à téter à mon fils, et voici, il était mort ; et je le considérai au matin, et voici, ce n'était pas mon fils que j'avais enfanté. |

Y cuando yo me levanté de madrugada para dar el pecho a mi hijo, he aquí que estaba muerto; pero lo observé por la mañana, y vi que no era mi hijo, el que yo había dado a luz. |

And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king. |
Et l'autre femme dit : Non, car mon fils est celui qui vit, et ton fils est celui qui est mort. Et celle-là disait : Non, car ton fils est celui qui est mort, et mon fils est celui qui vit. Elles parlaient ainsi devant le roi. |

And the other woman said, No, for the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this one said, No, but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king. |
Entonces la otra mujer dijo: No; mi hijo es el que vive, y tu hijo es el muerto. Y la otra volvió a decir: No; tu hijo es el muerto, y mi hijo es el que vive. Así hablaban delante del rey. |

Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. |
Et le roi dit : Celle-ci dit : Celui-ci est mon fils, qui vit, et ton fils, c'est celui qui est mort ; et celle-là dit : Non, car c'est ton fils qui est mort, et mon fils est celui qui vit. |

Then said the king, The one says, This that is living is my son, and thy son is the dead; and the other says, No, for thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. |
El rey entonces dijo: Esta dice: Mi hijo es el que vive, y tu hijo es el muerto; y la otra dice: No, mas el tuyo es el muerto, y mi hijo es el que vive. |

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. |
Et le roi dit : Apportez-moi une épée. Et on apporta l'épée devant le roi. |

Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it. |
Et la femme à qui était l'enfant vivant parla au roi, car ses entrailles étaient tout émues pour son fils, et elle dit : Ah, mon seigneur ! donnez-lui l'enfant vivant, et ne le tuez point. Et l'autre dit : Qu'il ne soit ni à moi, ni à toi ; coupez-le en deux ! |

Entonces la mujer de quien era el hijo vivo, habló al rey (porque sus entrañas se le conmovieron por su hijo), y dijo: ¡Ah, señor mío! dad a esta el niño vivo, y no lo matéis. Mas la otra dijo: Ni a mí ni a ti; partidlo. |

Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. |
Et le roi répondit et dit : Donnez à celle-là l'enfant qui vit, et ne le tuez point : c'est elle qui est sa mère. |

And the king answered and said, Give this one the living child, and in no wise put it to death: she is its mother. |
Entonces el rey respondió y dijo: Dad a aquella el hijo vivo, y no lo matéis; ella es su madre. |

And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment. |
Et tout Israël entendit parler du jugement que le roi avait prononcé ; et ils craignirent le roi, car ils voyaient que la sagesse de Dieu était en lui pour faire justicee. |

And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice. |
Y todo Israel oyó aquel juicio que había dado el rey; y temieron al rey, porque vieron que había en él sabiduría de Dios para juzgar. |
