But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites; ☆ Mais le roi Salomon aima beaucoup de femmes étrangères, outre la fille du Pharaon : des Moabites, des Ammonites, des Édomites, des Sidoniennes, des Héthiennes, But king Solomon loved many foreign women, besides the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, Hittites; Pero el rey Salomón amó, además de la hija de Faraón, a muchas mujeres extranjeras;a a las de Moab, a las de Amón, a las de Edom, a las de Sidón, y a las heteas;
Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love. — d'entre les nations dont l'Éternel avait dit aux fils d'Israël : Vous n'entrerez pas vers elles, et elles ne viendront pas vers vous ; certainement elles détourneraient vos cœurs après leurs dieux ; Salomon s'attacha à elles par amour. of the nations of which Jehovah had said to the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in to you; they would certainly turn away your heart after their gods: to these Solomon was attached in love. gentes de las cuales Jehová había dicho a los hijos de Israel: No os llegaréis a ellas, ni ellas se llegarán a vosotros; porque ciertamente harán inclinar vuestros corazones tras sus dioses.b A estas, pues, se juntó Salomón con amor.
And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father. And it came to pass when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father.
For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. And Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father. And Solomon did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and followed not fully Jehovah, as David his father.
Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon. Then did Solomon build a high place for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, on the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.
And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods. And so he did for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.
And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, Et l'Éternel eut de la colère contre Salomon, parce que son cœur s'était détourné deb l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui s'était révélé à lui deux fois, And Jehovah was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from Jehovah the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, Y se enojó Jehová contra Salomón, por cuanto su corazón se había apartado de Jehová Dios de Israel, que se le había aparecido dos veces,
And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the Lord commanded. et lui avait commandé, à ce sujet, de ne pas aller après d'autres dieux, et il ne garda pas ce que l'Éternel lui avait commandé. and had commanded him concerning this thing, not to go after other gods; but he kept not what Jehovah had commanded. y le había mandado acerca de esto, que no siguiese a dioses ajenos; mas él no guardó lo que le mandó Jehová.
Wherefore the Lord said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant. And Jehovah said to Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done by thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes which I commanded thee, I will certainly rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant: Y dijo Jehová a Salomón: Por cuanto ha habido esto en ti, y no has guardado mi pacto y mis estatutos que yo te mandé, romperé de ti el reino, y lo entregaré a tu siervo.
Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son. Seulement, je ne le ferai pas dans tes jours, à cause de David, ton père ; [mais] je l'arracherai de la main de ton fils. notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it, for David thy father's sake; I will rend it out of the hand of thy son; Sin embargo, no lo haré en tus días, por amor a David tu padre; lo romperé de la mano de tu hijo.
Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen. Toutefois je ne [lui] arracherai pas tout le royaume ; je donnerai une tribu à ton fils, à cause de David, mon serviteur, et à cause de Jérusalem, que j'ai choisie. only, I will not rend away all the kingdom: I will give one tribe to thy son, for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.
And the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was of the king’s seed in Edom. And Jehovah stirred up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the king's seed in Edom.
For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom; Et il était arrivé, pendant que David était en Édom [et] que Joab, chef de l'armée, était monté pour enterrer les morts, car il avait frappé tout mâle en Édom Now it came to pass when David was in Edom, when Joab the captain of the host had gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom Porque cuando David estaba en Edom, y subió Joab el general del ejército a enterrar los muertos, y mató a todos los varones de Edom
(For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:) (or Joab resta là six mois avec tout Israël, jusqu'à ce qu'il eût retranché tous les mâles en Édom), (for Joab abode there six months with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom), (porque seis meses habitó allí Joab, y todo Israel, hasta que hubo acabado con todo el sexo masculino en Edom),
That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child. qu'Hadad s'enfuit, lui et quelques Édomites d'entre les serviteurs de son père avec lui, pour aller en Égypte ; et Hadad était un jeune garçon. that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt, Hadad being yet a little child.
And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him an house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land. And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran, and took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt; who gave him a house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.
And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen. And Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, and he gave him as wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh’s house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh’s household among the sons of Pharaoh. And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son; and Tahpenes brought him up in Pharaoh's house; and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household, among the sons of Pharaoh.
And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country. And Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead; and Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to mine own country.
Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise. And Pharaoh said to him, What then dost thou lack with me, that behold, thou desirest to go to thine own country? And he said, Nothing; but in any case let me depart.
And God stirred him up another adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, which fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah: Dieu lui suscita encore un adversaire, Rezon, fils d'Éliada, qui s'enfuit de chez Hadadézer, roi de Tsoba, son seigneur ; God stirred him up yet an adversary, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from Hadadezer king of Zobah, his lord.
And he gathered men unto him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them of Zobah: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt therein, and reigned in Damascus. et il rassembla des hommes auprès de lui, et devint chef de bande, lorsque David tua ceux [de Tsoba]. And he collected men to him, and became captain of a band, when David slew them of Zobah ; and they went to Damascus, and dwelt there, and reigned in Damascus.
And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, beside the mischief that Hadad did: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria. And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief that Hadad did ; and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon’s servant, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow woman, even he lifted up his hand against the king. And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zeredah, Solomon's servant (whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow woman), even he lifted up his hand against the king.
And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the city of David his father. Et c'est ici l'occasion pour laquelle il leva sa main contre le roi : Salomon bâtissait Millo, [et] fermait la brèchee de la ville de David, son père ; And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon was building Millo, and closing the breach of the city of David his father; La causa por la cual este alzó su mano contra el rey fue esta: Salomón, edificando a Milo, cerró el portillo de la ciudad de David su padre.
And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph. et Jéroboam était un fort et vaillant homme ; et Salomon vit que le jeune homme faisait de l'ouvrage, et le préposa sur tout le travail de la maison de Joseph. and the man Jeroboam was strong and valiant; and Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field: Et il arriva en ce temps-là que Jéroboam sortit de Jérusalem ; et Akhija, le Silonite, le prophète, le trouva sur le chemin, et il était revêtuf d'un manteau neuf, et ils étaient seuls, eux deux, dans les champs. And it came to pass at that time that Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, and the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field.
And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces: Et Akhija saisit le manteau neuf qu'il avait sur lui, et le déchira en douze morceaux. Then Ahijah seized the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces; Y tomando Ahías la capa nueva que tenía sobre sí, la rompió en doce pedazos,
And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee: Et il dit à Jéroboam : Prends dix morceaux pour toi ; car ainsi dit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël : Voici, j'arrache le royaume de la main de Salomon, et je te donne dix tribus ; and said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces; for thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee; y dijo a Jeroboam: Toma para ti los diez pedazos; porque así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo rompo el reino de la mano de Salomón, y a ti te daré diez tribus;
(But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:) mais une tribu sera à lui, à cause de mon serviteur David, et à cause de Jérusalem, la ville que j'ai choisie d'entre toutes les tribus d'Israël ; but one tribe shall he have for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel: y él tendrá una tribu por amor a David mi siervo, y por amor a Jerusalén, ciudad que yo he elegido de todas las tribus de Israel;
Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes and my judgments, as did David his father. parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné, et ont adoré Ashtorethg, la divinité des Sidoniens, Kemosh, le dieu de Moab, et Milcom, le dieu des fils d'Ammon, et n'ont pas marché dans mes voies pour pratiquer ce qui est droit à mes yeux, et mes statuts et mes ordonnances, comme David, son père. because they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in my sight, and my statutes and mine ordinances, as David his father. por cuanto me han dejado, y han adorado a Astoret diosa de los sidonios, a Quemos dios de Moab, y a Moloc dios de los hijos de Amón; y no han andado en mis caminos para hacer lo recto delante de mis ojos, y mis estatutos y mis decretos, como hizo David su padre.
Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes: Cependant je n'ôterai pas tout le royaume de sa main, car je l'établirai prince tous les jours de sa vie, à cause de David, mon serviteur, que j'ai choisi, qui gardait mes commandements et mes statuts ; But I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand; for I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes; Pero no quitaré nada del reino de sus manos, sino que lo retendré por rey todos los días de su vida, por amor a David mi siervo, al cual yo elegí, y quien guardó mis mandamientos y mis estatutos.
But I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand, and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes. mais j'ôterai le royaume de la main de son fils, et je te le donnerai, [savoir] dix tribus ; but I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it unto thee, --the ten tribes.
And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there. et je donnerai une tribu à son fils, afin qu'il y ait toujours une lampe pour David, mon serviteur, devant moi, à Jérusalem, la ville que je me suis choisie pour y placer mon nom. And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city that I have chosen for myself to put my name there.
And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel. And I will take thee, that thou mayest reign over all that thy soul desireth, and thou shalt be king over Israel.
And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee. And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my sight, in keeping my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did, that I will be with thee, and build thee a lasting house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.
And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever. And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.
Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, unto Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon. And Solomon sought to kill Jeroboam; and Jeroboam arose and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt; and he was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon? And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years. And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years.
And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead. And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
