Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore. |
Et comme Esdras priait et faisait sa confession, pleurant et se prosternant devant la maison de Dieu, il se rassembla vers lui, d'Israël, une très-grande congrégation d'hommes et de femmes et d'enfants, car le peuple pleurait beaucoup. |

And while Ezra prayed, and made confession, weeping and falling down before the house of God, there were gathered to him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children; for the people wept very much. |
Mientras oraba Esdras y hacía confesión, llorando y postrándose delante de la casa de Dios, se juntó a él una muy grande multitud de Israel, hombres, mujeres y niños; y lloraba el pueblo amargamente. |

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing. |
Et Shecania, fils de Jekhiel, des fils d'Élam, prit la parole et dit à Esdras : Nous avons été infidèles à notre Dieu, et nous avons pris des femmes étrangères d'entre les peuples du pays. Mais maintenant, il y a espérance pour Israël à cet égard. |

And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, of the sons of Elam, answered and said to Ezra, We have acted unfaithfully toward our God, and have taken foreign wives of the peoples of the land; yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing. |
Entonces respondió Secanías hijo de Jehiel, de los hijos de Elam, y dijo a Esdras: Nosotros hemos pecado contra nuestro Dios, pues tomamos mujeres extranjeras de los pueblos de la tierra; mas a pesar de esto, aún hay esperanza para Israel. |

Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. |
Et maintenant, faisons alliance avec notre Dieu pour renvoyer toutes les femmes et ceux qui sont nés d'elles, selon le conseil de mon seigneur et de ceux qui tremblent aux commandements de notre Dieu, et qu'il soit fait selon la loi. |

Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware. |
Et Esdras se leva, et il fit jurer aux chefs des sacrificateurs, des lévites, et de tout Israël, d'agir selon cette parole ; et ils jurèrent. |

Then Ezra arose, and made the chiefs of the priests, of the Levites, and of all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. And they swore. |
Entonces se levantó Esdras y juramentó a los príncipes de los sacerdotes y de los levitas, y a todo Israel, que harían conforme a esto; y ellos juraron. |

Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away. |
Et Esdras se leva de devant la maison de Dieu, et alla dans la chambre de Jokhanan, fils d'Éliashib ; et il entra là : il ne mangea point de pain et ne but point d'eau, car il menait deuil sur le péché de ceux qui avaient été transportés. |

And Ezra arose from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib; and when he came thither, he ate no bread and drank no water; for he mourned because of the unfaithfulness of them that had been carried away. |
Se levantó luego Esdras de delante de la casa de Dios, y se fue a la cámara de Johanán hijo de Eliasib; e ido allá, no comió pan ni bebió agua, porque se entristeció a causa del pecado de los del cautiverio. |

And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem; |
Et on fit passer en Juda et à Jérusalem un appela à tous les fils de la transportation de se rassembler à Jérusalem, |

And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away. |
et pour que quiconque ne viendrait pas dans les trois jours selon le conseil des chefs et des anciens, tous ses biens fussent confisquésb, et que lui-même fût séparé de la congrégation de ceux qui avaient été transportés. |

y que el que no viniera dentro de tres días, conforme al acuerdo de los príncipes y de los ancianos, perdiese toda su hacienda, y el tal fuese excluido de la congregación de los del cautiverio. |

Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain. |
Et tous les hommes de Juda et de Benjamin se rassemblèrent à Jérusalem dans les trois jours : c'était le neuvième mois, le vingtième [jour] du mois ; et tout le peuple était assis dans la place de la maison de Dieu, tremblant à cause de cette affaire et à cause des pluies. |

Then were all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered together at Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth of the month; and all the people sat in the open space of the house of God, trembling because of the matter, and because of the pouring rain. |
Así todos los hombres de Judá y de Benjamín se reunieron en Jerusalén dentro de los tres días, a los veinte días del mes, que era el mes noveno; y se sentó todo el pueblo en la plaza de la casa de Dios, temblando con motivo de aquel asunto, y a causa de la lluvia. |

And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel. |
Et Esdras, le sacrificateur, se leva et leur dit : Vous avez été infidèles, et vous avez prisc des femmes étrangères, pour ajouter à la coulpe d'Israël. |

And Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, Ye have acted unfaithfully, and have taken foreign wives, to increase the trespass of Israel. |
Y se levantó el sacerdote Esdras y les dijo: Vosotros habéis pecado, por cuanto tomasteis mujeres extranjeras, añadiendo así sobre el pecado de Israel. |

Now therefore make confession unto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives. |
Et maintenant, faites confession à l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères, et faites ce qui lui est agréable, et séparez-vous des peuples du pays et des femmes étrangères. |

And now make confession to Jehovah the God of your fathers, and do his pleasure, and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the foreign wives. |
Ahora, pues, dad gloria a Jehová Dios de vuestros padres, y haced su voluntad, y apartaos de los pueblos de las tierras, y de las mujeres extranjeras. |

Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do. |
Et toute la congrégation répondit et dit à haute voix : Oui, à nous de faire selon tes paroles ; |

And the whole congregation answered and said with a loud voice, Yes, it is for us to do according to thy words. |
Y respondió toda la asamblea, y dijeron en alta voz: Así se haga conforme a tu palabra. |

But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing. |
mais le peuple est nombreux, et c'est la saison des pluies, et il n'y a pas moyen de se tenir dehors ; et ce n'est pas l'œuvre d'un jour ni de deux, car nous avons grandement péchéd dans cette affaire. |

But the people are many, and it is a time of pouring rain, and it is not possible to stand without: neither is this a work for one day or two; for we are many that have transgressed in this thing. |
Pero el pueblo es mucho, y el tiempo lluvioso, y no podemos estar en la calle; ni la obra es de un día ni de dos, porque somos muchos los que hemos pecado en esto. |

Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us. |
Que nos chefs donc, pendant cette affaire, se tiennent là pour toute la congrégation, et que tous ceux qui, dans nos villes, ont prisc des femmes étrangères, viennent à des époques déterminées, et avec eux les anciens de chaque ville et ses juges, jusqu'à ce que l'ardeur de la colère de notre Dieu soit détournée de nous. |

Let now our princes, while this matter is going on, stand for all the congregation, and let all those that have taken foreign wives in our cities come at the appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce anger of our God be turned from us. |
Sean nuestros príncipes los que se queden en lugar de toda la congregación, y todos aquellos que en nuestras ciudades hayan tomado mujeres extranjeras, vengan en tiempos determinados, y con ellos los ancianos de cada ciudad, y los jueces de ellas, hasta que apartemos de nosotros el ardor de la ira de nuestro Dios sobre esto. |

Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them. |
Seuls, Jonathan, fils d'Asçaël, et Jakhzia, fils de Thikva, s'opposèrent à celae ; et Meshullam, et Shabthaï, le lévite, les appuyèrent. |

Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahzeiah the son of Tikvah stood up against this; and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them. |

And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter. |
Et les fils de la transportation firent ainsi. Et Esdras, le sacrificateur, et des hommes qui étaient chefs des pères, furent séparés selon leurs maisons de pères, et tous par leurs noms. Et ils s'assirent le premier jour du dixième mois pour examiner l'affaire ; |

And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest and certain of the chief fathers were separated according to their fathers' houses, and all of them expressed by name; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter. |
Así hicieron los hijos del cautiverio. Y fueron apartados el sacerdote Esdras, y ciertos varones jefes de casas paternas según sus casas paternas; todos ellos por sus nombres se sentaron el primer día del mes décimo para inquirir sobre el asunto. |

And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month. |
et, le premier jour du premier mois, ils en eurent fini avec tous les hommes qui avaient prisf des femmes étrangères. |

And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: namely, of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah. |
Et, parmi les fils des sacrificateurs, il s'en trouva qui avaient pris des femmes étrangères : des fils de Jéshua, fils de Jotsadak, et de ses frères : Maascéïa, et Éliézer, et Jarib, et Guedalia. |

And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their trespass. |
