And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. |
☆ Et il arriva au mois de Nisan, la vingtième année du roi Artaxerxès, comme le vin était devant lui, que je pris le vin et le donnai au roi ; et je n'avais pas été triste en sa présence. |

Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid, |
Et le roi me dit : Pourquoi as-tu mauvais visage, et pourtant tu n'es pas malade ? Cela n'est rien que de la tristesse de cœur. |

And the king said to me, Why is thy face sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sadness of heart. And I was very sore afraid. |
me dijo el rey: ¿Por qué está triste tu rostro? pues no estás enfermo. No es esto sino quebranto de corazón. Entonces temí en gran manera. |

And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? |
Alors j'eus extrêmement peur. Et je dis au roi : Que le roi vive à toujours ! Pourquoi mon visage ne serait-il pas triste, quand la ville, le lieua des sépulcres de mes pères, est dévastée, et que ses portes sont consumées par le feu ? |

And I said to the king, Let the king live for ever! Why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lies waste, and its gates are consumed with fire? |
Y dije al rey: Para siempre viva el rey. ¿Cómo no estará triste mi rostro, cuando la ciudad, casa de los sepulcros de mis padres, está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas por el fuego?a |

Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. |

And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it. |
Et je priai le Dieu des cieux ; et je dis au roi : Si le roi le trouve bon, et si ton serviteur est agréable devant toi, qu'il m'envoie en Juda, à la ville des sépulcres de mes pères, et je la bâtirai. |

And I said to the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it. |
y dije al rey: Si le place al rey, y tu siervo ha hallado gracia delante de ti, envíame a Judá, a la ciudad de los sepulcros de mis padres, y la reedificaré. |

And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. |
Alors le roi me dit — et la reine était assise à son côté : — Combien de temps durera ton voyage, et quand reviendras-tu ? Et il plut au roi de m'envoyer, et je lui fixai un temps. |

And the king said to me--the queen also sitting by him, --For how long shall thy journey be, and when wilt thou return? And it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. |
Entonces el rey me dijo (y la reina estaba sentada junto a él): ¿Cuánto durará tu viaje, y cuándo volverás? Y agradó al rey enviarme, después que yo le señalé tiempo. |

Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; |
Et je dis au roi : Si le roi le trouve bon, qu'il me donne des lettres pour les gouverneurs de l'autre côté du fleuveb, pour qu'ils me fassent passer jusqu'à ce que j'arrive en Juda, |

And I said to the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may set me forward till I come into Judah; |
Además dije al rey: Si le place al rey, que se me den cartas para los gobernadores al otro lado del río, para que me franqueen el paso hasta que llegue a Judá; |

And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. |
et une lettre pour Asaph, gardien de la forêt du roi, afin qu'il me donne du bois pour faire la charpente des portes du château fort attenant à la maison, et pour la muraille de la ville, et pour la maison dans laquelle je dois entrer. Et le roi me les donna, selon que la bonne main de mon Dieu était sur moi. |

y carta para Asaf guarda del bosque del rey, para que me dé madera para enmaderar las puertas del palacio de la casa, y para el muro de la ciudad, y la casa en que yo estaré. Y me lo concedió el rey, según la benéfica mano de mi Dios sobre mí. |

Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king’s letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me. |
Et je vins auprès des gouverneurs de l'autre côté du fleuve, et je leur donnai les lettres du roi ; or le roi avait envoyé avec moi des chefs de l'armée et des cavaliers. |

And I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of a force and horsemen with me. |
Vine luego a los gobernadores del otro lado del río, y les di las cartas del rey. Y el rey envió conmigo capitanes del ejército y gente de a caballo. |

When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. |
Et quand Sanballat, le Horonite, et Tobija, le serviteur ammonite, l'apprirent, ils furent très-mécontents de ce qu'un homme fût venu pour chercher le bien des fils d'Israël. |

And when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobijah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it , it grieved them exceedingly that there had come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. |
Pero oyéndolo Sanbalat horonita y Tobías el siervo amonita, les disgustó en extremo que viniese alguno para procurar el bien de los hijos de Israel. |

So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days. |

And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon. |
Et je me levai de nuit, moi et le peu d'hommes qui étaient avec moi, — et je n'avais informé personne de ce que mon Dieu m'avait mis au cœur de faire pour Jérusalem — et je n'avais pas de bête avec moi, sinon la bête que je montais. |

And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me--but I told no man what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem--and there was no beast with me, except the beast that I rode upon. |
me levanté de noche, yo y unos pocos varones conmigo, y no declaré a hombre alguno lo que Dios había puesto en mi corazón que hiciese en Jerusalén; ni había cabalgadura conmigo, excepto la única en que yo cabalgaba. |

And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon well, and to the dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire. |
Et je sortis de nuit, par la porte de la valléec, en face de la source du chacal, vers la porte du fumier ; et je considérai les murailles de Jérusalem qui étaient en ruine, et ses portes consumées par le feu. |

And I went out by night by the valley-gate, even toward the jackal-fountain, and to the dung-gate; and I viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were in ruins, and its gates were consumed with fire. |
Y salí de noche por la puerta del Valle hacia la fuente del Dragón y a la puerta del Muladar; y observé los muros de Jerusalén que estaban derribados, y sus puertas que estaban consumidas por el fuego. |

Then I went on to the gate of the fountain, and to the king’s pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass. |
Et je passai à la porte de la fontaine, et à l'étang du roi, et il n'y avait pas de place où pût passer la bête qui était sous moi. |

And I went on to the fountain-gate, and to the king's pool; and there was no place for the beast under me to pass. |
Pasé luego a la puerta de la Fuente, y al estanque del Rey; pero no había lugar por donde pasase la cabalgadura en que iba. |

Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the gate of the valley, and so returned. |
Et je montai de nuit par le torrent, et je considérai la muraille ; et je m'en revins, et entrai par la porte de la vallée, et je m'en retournai. |

And I went up in the night through the valley, and viewed the wall, and turned back, and entered by the valley-gate and returned. |
Y subí de noche por el torrente y observé el muro, y di la vuelta y entré por la puerta del Valle, y me volví. |

And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work. |
Or les chefsd ne savaient pas où j'étais allé, ni ce que je faisais ; et jusque-là je n'avais rien communiqué aux Juifs, ni aux sacrificateurs, ni aux nobles, ni aux chefsd, ni aux autres qui s'occupaient de l'œuvre. |

And the rulers did not know whither I went or what I did, for I had not as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work. |
Y no sabían los oficiales a dónde yo había ido, ni qué había hecho; ni hasta entonces lo había declarado yo a los judíos y sacerdotes, ni a los nobles y oficiales, ni a los demás que hacían la obra. |

Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. |
Et je leur dis : Vous voyez la misère dans laquelle nous sommes, que Jérusalem est dévastée et que ses portes sont brûlées par le feu. Venez et bâtissons la muraille de Jérusalem, afin que nous ne soyons plus dans l'opprobre. |

And I said to them, Ye see the distress that we are in, that Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. |
Les dije, pues: Vosotros veis el mal en que estamos, que Jerusalén está desierta, y sus puertas consumidas por el fuego; venid, y edifiquemos el muro de Jerusalén, y no estemos más en oprobio. |

Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. |
Et je leur racontai comment la main de mon Dieu avait été bonne sur moi, et aussi les paroles du roi qu'il m'avait dites. Et ils dirent : Levons-nous et bâtissons. Et ils fortifièrent leurs mains pour bien faire. |

And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me; as also of the king's words which he had said unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. And they strengthened their hands for the good work . |
Entonces les declaré cómo la mano de mi Dios había sido buena sobre mí, y asimismo las palabras que el rey me había dicho. Y dijeron: Levantémonos y edifiquemos. Así esforzaron sus manos para bien. |

But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? |
Et quand Sanballat, le Horonite, et Tobija, le serviteur ammonite, et Guésheme, l'Arabe, l'apprirent, ils se moquèrent de nous et nous méprisèrent, et ils dirent : Qu'est-ce que vous faites là ? Voulez-vous vous révolter contre le roi ? |

Pero cuando lo oyeron Sanbalat horonita, Tobías el siervo amonita, y Gesem el árabe, hicieron escarnio de nosotros, y nos despreciaron, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto que hacéis vosotros? ¿Os rebeláis contra el rey? |

Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem. |
Et je leur répondis et je leur dis : Le Dieu des cieux, lui, nous fera prospérer, et nous, ses serviteurs, nous nous lèverons et nous bâtirons ; mais vous, vous n'avez ni part, ni droit, ni souvenir à Jérusalem. |

And I answered them, and said to them, The God of the heavens, he will prosper us, and we his servants will arise and build; but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial in Jerusalem. |
Y en respuesta les dije: El Dios de los cielos, él nos prosperará, y nosotros sus siervos nos levantaremos y edificaremos, porque vosotros no tenéis parte ni derecho ni memoria en Jerusalén. |
