Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;) |

The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people. |

And all the rulers of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the deputies, and officers of the king, helped the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. |

And the king said unto Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces? now what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: or what is thy request further? and it shall be done. |
Et le roi dit à la reine Esther : Les Juifs ont tué et fait périr dans Suse, la capitale, cinq cents hommes et les dix fils d'Haman ; qu'auront-ils fait dans les autres provinces du roi ? Et quelle est ta demande ? elle te sera accordée. Et quelle est encore ta requête ? et ce sera fait. |

And the king said to Esther the queen, The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the fortress, and the ten sons of Haman; what have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? And what is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee; and what is thy request further? and it shall be done. |
Y dijo el rey a la reina Ester: En Susa capital del reino los judíos han matado a quinientos hombres, y a diez hijos de Amán. ¿Qué habrán hecho en las otras provincias del rey? ¿Cuál, pues, es tu petición? y te será concedida; ¿o qué más es tu demanda? y será hecha. |

Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged upon the gallows. |
Et Esther dit : Si le roi le trouve bon, qu'il soit accordé encore demain aux Juifs qui sont à Suse de faire selon l'édit d'aujourd'hui ; et qu'on pende au bois les dix fils d'Haman. |

But the other Jews that were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey, |
Et le reste des Juifs qui étaient dans les provinces du roi s'assemblèrent et se mirent en défense pour leur vie, et eurent du repos de leurs ennemis ; et ils tuèrent soixante-quinze mille de ceux qui les haïssaient ; mais ils ne mirent pas la main sur le butin : |

And the other Jews that were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their life, and had rest from their enemies; and they slew of them that hated them seventy-five thousand (but they laid not their hand on the prey), |
En cuanto a los otros judíos que estaban en las provincias del rey, también se juntaron y se pusieron en defensa de su vida, y descansaron de sus enemigos, y mataron de sus contrarios a setenta y cinco mil; pero no tocaron sus bienes. |

On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness. |

C'est pourquoi les Juifs de la campagne qui habitaient des villes ouvertes, firent du quatorzième [jour] du mois d'Adar un jour de joie et de festin, et un jour de fête, où l'on s'envoyait des portions l'un à l'autre. |

Therefore the Jews of the villages that dwell in the country towns make the fourteenth of the month Adar a day of joy and feasting, and a good day, and on which they send portions one to another. |
Por tanto, los judíos aldeanos que habitan en las villas sin muro hacen a los catorce del mes de Adar el día de alegría y de banquete, un día de regocijo, y para enviar porciones cada uno a su vecino. |

And Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters unto all the Jews that were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both nigh and far, |

Car Haman, fils d'Hammedatha, l'Agaguite, l'oppresseur de tous les Juifs, avait tramé contre les Juifs de les faire périr, et avait fait jeter le pur, c'est-à-dire le sort, pour les détruire et les faire périr. |

Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and of that which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them, |

les Juifs établirent et acceptèrent pourb eux et pour leur semence, et pour tous ceux qui se joindraient à eux, de ne pas négliger de célébrer chaque année ces deux jours selon leur ordonnancec et selon leur temps fixé ; |

los judíos establecieron y tomaron sobre sí, sobre su descendencia y sobre todos los allegados a ellos, que no dejarían de celebrar estos dos días según está escrito tocante a ellos, conforme a su tiempo cada año; |

And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them perish from their seed. |
et qu'on se souviendrait de ces jours et qu'on les célébrerait dans toutes les générations, dans chaque famille, dans chaque province, et dans chaque ville ; et que ces jours de Purim ne seraient point négligés au milieu des Juifs, et que leur mémoire ne périrait jamais chez leur semence. |

and that these days should be remembered and observed throughout every generation, in every family, every province, and every city, and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the memorial of them cease from among their seed. |

Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim. |

pour confirmer ces jours de Purim à leurs époques fixes, comme Mardochée, le Juif, et la reine Esther les avaient établis pour eux, et comme ils les avaient établis pour eux-mêmes et pour leur semence, à l'occasion de leurs jeûnes et de leur cri. |
