On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her. |
Ce jour-là, le roi Assuérus donna à la reine Esther la maison d'Haman, l'oppresseur des Juifs. Et Mardochée entra devant le roi, car Esther avait déclaré ce qu'il lui était. |

On that day did king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews' oppressor to Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was to her. |
El mismo día, el rey Asuero dio a la reina Ester la casa de Amán enemigo de los judíos; y Mardoqueo vino delante del rey, porque Ester le declaró lo que él era respecto de ella. |

And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman. |
Et le roi ôta son anneau qu'il avait retiré à Haman, et le donna à Mardochée. Et Esther établit Mardochée sur la maison d'Haman. |

And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews. |
Et Esther parla encore devant le roi, et tomba à ses pieds et pleura, et le supplia de mettre à néant le mal médité para Haman, l'Agaguite, et le dessein qu'il avait formé contre les Juifs. |

Volvió luego Ester a hablar delante del rey, y se echó a sus pies, llorando y rogándole que hiciese nula la maldad de Amán agagueo y su designio que había tramado contra los judíos. |

Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king, |

And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces: |
et elle dit : Si le roi le trouve bon, et si j'ai trouvé faveur devant lui, et que le roi estime la chose avantageuse, et que moi, je sois agréable à ses yeux, qu'on écrive pour révoquer les lettres ourdies par Haman, fils d'Hammedatha, l'Agaguite, qu'il a écrites pour faire périr les Juifs qui sont dans toutes les provinces du roi. |

and said, If it please the king and if I have found grace before him, and the thing seem right to the king, and I be pleasing in his sight, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews that are in all the king's provinces. |
y dijo: Si place al rey, y si he hallado gracia delante de él, y si le parece acertado al rey, y yo soy agradable a sus ojos, que se dé orden escrita para revocar las cartas que autorizan la trama de Amán hijo de Hamedata agagueo, que escribió para destruir a los judíos que están en todas las provincias del rey. |

For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred? |
Car comment pourrai-je voir le malheur qui atteindra mon peuple, et comment pourrai-je voir la destruction de ma race ? |

Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews. |
Et le roi Assuérus dit à la reine Esther et à Mardochée, le Juif : Voici, j'ai donné à Esther la maison d'Haman ; et lui, on l'a pendu au bois parce qu'il a étendu sa main contre les Juifs. |

And king Ahasuerus said to queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he stretched forth his hand against the Jews. |
Respondió el rey Asuero a la reina Ester y a Mardoqueo el judío: He aquí yo he dado a Ester la casa de Amán, y a él han colgado en la horca, por cuanto extendió su mano contra los judíos. |

Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse. |
Vous donc, écrivez au nom du roi à l'égard des Juifs ce qui vous paraîtra bon, et scellez-le avec l'anneau du roi. Car un écrit qui a été écrit au nom du roi et scellé avec l'anneau du roi ne peut être révoqué. |

Write ye then for the Jews as seems good to you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring. For a writing that is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, cannot be reversed. |
Escribid, pues, vosotros a los judíos como bien os pareciere, en nombre del rey, y selladlo con el anillo del rey; porque un edicto que se escribe en nombre del rey, y se sella con el anillo del rey, no puede ser revocado. |

Then were the king’s scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language. |
Et les scribes du roi furent appelés en ce temps-là, au troisième mois, qui est le mois de Sivan, le vingt-troisième [jour] du mois ; et, selon tout ce que Mardochée commanda, on écrivit aux Juifs, et aux satrapes, et aux gouverneurs, et aux chefs des provinces, depuis l'Inde jusqu'à l'Éthiopie, cent vingt-sept provinces, à chaque province selon son écriture, et à chaque peuple selon sa langue, et aux Juifs selon leur écriture et selon leur langue. |

Entonces fueron llamados los escribanos del rey en el mes tercero, que es Siván, a los veintitrés días de ese mes; y se escribió conforme a todo lo que mandó Mardoqueo, a los judíos, y a los sátrapas, los capitanes y los príncipes de las provincias que había desde la India hasta Etiopía, ciento veintisiete provincias; a cada provincia según su escritura, y a cada pueblo conforme a su lengua, a los judíos también conforme a su escritura y lengua. |

And he wrote in the king Ahasuerus’ name, and sealed it with the king’s ring, and sent letters by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels, and young dromedaries: |
Et [Mardochée] écrivit au nom du roi Assuérus et scella avec l'anneau du roi ; et il envoya des lettres par des courriers à cheval, montés sur des coursiers, des chevaux de raceb, produits des harasc. |

And he wrote in the name of king Ahasuerus, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters by couriers on horseback riding on coursers, horses of blood reared in the breeding studs: |
Y escribió en nombre del rey Asuero, y lo selló con el anillo del rey, y envió cartas por medio de correos montados en caballos veloces procedentes de los repastos reales; |

Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey, |
[Ces lettres portaient] que le roi accordait aux Juifs, dans chaque ville, de s'assembler et de se mettre en défense pour leur vie, [et] de détruire, tuer, et faire périr toute force du peuple et de la province qui les opprimerait, — eux [et leurs] enfants et [leurs] femmes, et de mettre au pillage leurs biens, |

stating that the king granted the Jews that were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their life, to destroy, to slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that might assault them, their little ones and women, and to take the spoil of them for a prey, |
que el rey daba facultad a los judíos que estaban en todas las ciudades, para que se reuniesen y estuviesen a la defensa de su vida, prontos a destruir, y matar, y acabar con toda fuerza armada del pueblo o provincia que viniese contra ellos, y aun sus niños y mujeres, y apoderarse de sus bienes, |

Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar. |
en un même jour, dans toutes les provinces du roi Assuérus, le treizième [jour] du douzième mois, qui est le mois d'Adar. |

The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies. |
Pour que l'édit fût rendu [public] dans chaque province, une copie de l'écrit fut portée à la connaissance de tous les peuples, afin que les Juifs fussent prêts pour ce jour-là, pour se venger de leurs ennemis. |

That the decree might be given in every province, a copy of the writing was published to all the peoples, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to avenge themselves on their enemies. |
La copia del edicto que había de darse por decreto en cada provincia, para que fuese conocido por todos los pueblos, decía que los judíos estuviesen preparados para aquel día, para vengarse de sus enemigos. |

So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king’s commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the palace. |
Les courriers, montés sur les coursiers, des chevaux de raceb, partirent, hâtés et pressés par la parole du roi. Et l'édit fut rendu à Suse, la capitale. |

The couriers mounted on coursers and horses of blood went out, being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan the fortress. |
Los correos, pues, montados en caballos veloces, salieron a toda prisa por la orden del rey; y el edicto fue dado en Susa capital del reino. |

And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple: and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad. |
Et Mardochée sortit de devant le roi, avec un vêtement royal bleu et blanc, une grande couronne d'or, et un manteau de byssus et de pourpre ; et la ville de Suse poussait des cris de joie et se réjouissait. |

Y salió Mardoqueo de delante del rey con vestido real de azul y blanco, y una gran corona de oro, y un manto de lino y púrpura. La ciudad de Susa entonces se alegró y regocijó; |

And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them. |
Et, dans chaque province et dans chaque ville, partout où parvenait la parole du roi et son édit, il y eut de la joie et de l'allégresse pour les Juifs, un festin et un jour de fête ; et beaucoup de gens parmi les peuples du pays se firent Juifs, car la frayeur des Juifs tomba sur eux. |

And in every province, and in every city, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many among the peoples of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews had fallen upon them. |
Y en cada provincia y en cada ciudad donde llegó el mandamiento del rey, los judíos tuvieron alegría y gozo, banquete y día de placer. Y muchos de entre los pueblos de la tierra se hacían judíos, porque el temor de los judíos había caído sobre ellos. |
